A Case of Hysteria
It is 1909 in Vienna.
Klara sat up in bed and saw the morning sun, but she was still very tense and thinking about the night before.
Last night, Klara told her husband, Franz, "I really need to release this tension in my body." Franz does not usually put priority on pleasuring her first, but she said, "Please provide some pleasure for me before I stimulate your penis." When she took her gown off and freed her lovely body from her lingerie and underwear, she said, "Franz, please suck the areolas of my breasts and make the nipples of my well-rounded breasts hard."
However, Franz said, "No, I will not kiss your breasts."
Klara cried, "Please kiss my neck, and run your tongue down my stomach and over my private parts."
"Only penetration with my penis is necessary," Franz said, "not neck kissing or using my tongue."
Then Klara slipped Franz's penis out of his underwear, and pulled at the base of his shaft. As she licked Franz's penis mushroom head and licked and stroked the shaft of his penis, Franz groaned and his penis became very erect and hard. However, with no stimulation from him, she was not aroused or prepared before he inserted the tip of his penis into the opening of her vagina and pumped it into her vaginal canal.
Since Franz's penis was not long enough, there was no chance of a cervical orgasm. Also, his angle of approach did not allow his penis to stimulate her G-Spot. He also made no attempt to rub her clitoris during penetration. Then Franz's penis pulsed rapidly, delivering his load of semen, but Klara did not orgasm that night; and the anxious feelings increased within her. These tensions had been building inside her for some time; therefore, she had previously made an appointment to see her doctor.
The next day, Klara went to see her doctor in his office in Vienna.
"Has your husband done his duty, and have you only been penetrated and not stimulated in any other way?" her doctor asked.
Klara said, "That is correct."
"Well, I do not see anything wrong with that," the doctor said. The doctor told her, "Sigmund Freud said penetration sex is the way to orgasm, and manual stimulation is not important." He said, "Freud maintains that the inability to orgasm is all in the person's head."
This left Klara with a strong sense of frustration. Also, since she had little knowledge about her clitoris, masturbation was foreign to her. After her frustrating trip to the doctor, Klara decided to contact her friend Rosa about the trip to the doctor's office. Rosa is part of a group of women that Klara and Rosa are members of, the Women's Advancement Society.
Klara told Rosa, "I am very upset that my doctor did not understand my needs."
Rosa said, "There is a psychiatrist, Doctor Braun, that I have heard good things about." Rosa gave Klara the contact information.
Klara made an appointment with Doctor Braun, and went to see him in Vienna the next day.
"We can try to have a talk therapy session to try to resolve your problem," Doctor Braun said.
During the talk therapy, Klara said, "I do not understand why I cannot orgasm."
Doctor Braun said, "It seems that your husband penetrated you properly, and, in line with current understanding, that should have led you to a good climax." The doctor said, "Klara, you are exhibiting symptoms of hysteria." He said, "I will need to examine you in order to determine the correct treatment."
After Klara followed the doctor's instructions to remove her clothing, he asked her to lie down on his examination couch; and he spread her legs. The doctor put his fingers on her outer labia, spread her vulva open, and pulled back on her clitoral hood.
At that point, the doctor saw that the nub of her clitoris is rather small, but he did not tell Klara that. The small size of her clitoral nub would make it harder for her clitoris to be stimulated from penetration sex alone. Since a hysteria diagnosis is attributed to mental issues, Doctor Braun did not reveal that he is actually going to use vibrator therapy, not talk therapy, to "cure" her hysteria.
The doctor said, "Do you consent to the procedure to cure your hysteria?"
