It had been really hot that night, so I decided to wear only an oversized t-shirt. My hair was up in a messy bun, and on my lap was a book. Nothing too special. It was a nightly routine, and one that I had grown accustomed to. I liked it. The simplicity of it was soothing, and regenerating after a long day.
Thankfully my sister was out. She had an itch she needed to scratch. Who was I to blame her? We all did. Selina had the best body too. I envied her.
That night wasn't going to be the same as other nights though.
Sometime around two, after I had fed the cats, I made my way to my computer. Only to see one of the window's open. I made my way over, and slowly closed it. The food factory downstairs wasn't smelling wonderful that night, so I could deal with the heat from having no windows in the studio.
However, when I got there I realized someone was in the process of opening it right there. I gave a cry out, and stumbled backwards to grab the baseball bat we have near the window. I picked it up quickly, and then I swung. The person dropped to the ground. I stepped forward and looked down. His face was all pimply. He was overweight, and clearly desperate. He was trying to knock over an apartment above a food factory. I felt a bit of pity for him, but instead just kicked him.
"You know you shouldn't kick people when they're down," a deep sultry voice spoke out. It was so smooth, and made me tingle.
I looked up and saw a man standing above me. He had amazing blue eyes. I'd never seen something like them before. He wore a mask, but when my eyes finally trailed down to his lips, I couldn't help but lick my own. I looked back up at him and gave a small timid smile.
"People shouldn't try to knock off houses," I said as I bit my bottom lip slightly.
"Are you okay?" He asked slowly.
"Yah, nothing I can't handle," I chuckled slowly and put the bat down where it's rightful place is.
