After the bars closed down at 2 a.m., Terry assumed that his 20-Year High School Reunion was over. His wife was well beyond pass-out drunk, and he just got her tucked into bed after a Lyft to his mother-in-law's house. As he started to unbutton his shirt, his phone buzzed. He had a message from Mandy.
Mandy had helped organize the reunion and also happened to be a woman Terry had been crushing on since middle school. Back then he was very unsure of himself, but he would frequent the little place where she worked in the summer to flirt and see her beautiful smile and the most alluring eyes he has ever seen, still to this day. He may have snuck a glance or two at her ass when she turned to serve others, but who could blame him.
Now however, they were not in middle school. They were in their 30s and life had kept them pretty separate except for the occasional social media interaction. Terry was still married to his high school sweetheart and was on the edge of being an empty nester with both sons going off to college. Mandy had recently ended her 2nd marriage, but seemed more free and happier than ever. The moment he saw her and they embraced, the old crush came racing back. Time is funny like that. The senses can reach into one's mind, heart, and even loins, and pull all those old thoughts and feelings right back to the present.
He opened the message.
M: Come to my house for the after party!!!!!!! (Followed by her address)
Terry chuckled. Mandy and her group of friends had been the life of the party as they bar hopped after the booze cruise. As Terry had more drinks, he also had a harder time not stealing glances at Mandy. She was wearing a little black dress that flowed and made her legs and chest quite alluring. She had been dancing pretty close to his old friend Pete all night and he wondered if there might be something there.
He thought about the message. Holly certainly couldn't go, and probably wouldn't be stoked to know he did. But she was passed out and wouldn't wake until late morning. Terry decided he might as well go. While his lust for Mandy was peaking, it didn't mean hers was and so nothing would happen. So, he snapped his shirt back up, quickly brushed his teeth and sprayed just a little cologne, and ordered the Lyft.
When Terry arrived and entered the open front door, there were not many people, just 5 or 6 apart from Pete and Mandy. When Mandy saw him she stumbled over to him and gave a huge "Heeeeeyyyyyyyyyyyy" while wrapping her arms around him for a hug.
M: "Where's Holly?" She whispered in his ear as the hug lingered.
T: "Oh she conked out immediately."
Mandy lightly kissed him on the cheek and held eye contact as she said "That's too bad." And slowly let her fingers drag down his chest before pulling away.
"Jesus fuck" Terry thought as he saw her saunter away. She was glad she had pulled back because enough blood was flowing south to make it a problem if she stayed pressed against him.
