**I was new when I published Chapter 1 for the first time and so I put it in the mature section so you can find Chapter 1 there.
I had posted Chapter 2 previously but thought it needed some more spice so hopefully this will do the trick!**
Ashlynn's best friend, Zoe, was picking her up from the airport. The two had been best friends since grade school. They grew up living down the street from each other growing up and had been roommates in college. Zoe had even been Ashlynn's maid of honor in her wedding. She had dark brown wavy shoulder length hair and dark brown eyes. Zoe was the more outgoing of the two. She was confident and fearless which Ashlynn envied and admired about her.
Zoe was waiting for her right outside the airport in the short term parking zone area. "Hi Ashy. How was your convention?"
"It was good," she replied, smiling secretly, thinking of her time with Simon.
As Zoe talked about what had been going on while Ashlynn was away, Ashlynn's mind drifted back to her and Simon in the hotel room. Her eyes closed, a faint smile on her lips.
"Earth to Ashy. Hello? Are you still with me?" Zoe yelled, trying to break Ashlynn's daydream up.
"What?"
"Where have you been? I was asking if you wanted to get something to eat and I was telling you what was going on but you were in some la la dreamland because you didn't hear a damn thing!" Zoe laughed.
Ashlynn blushed. "Sorry. My mind was elsewhere."
Zoe raised an eyebrow at her. "Why? What happened?"
Ashlynn turned even more red. "Uh, nothing."
"Bullshit, tell me now."
Ashlynn giggled. "Um. I spent the night with an incredibly sexy, gorgeous, older British man and had THE most incredible sex of my life."
Zoe's mouth dropped open. "You did not!"
"I did. I normally don't do things like that but it just happened. He was at the convention, we met in the hotel bar and began talking. We had a few drinks and talked about our lives. We're both divorced. Then when we got on the subject of sex, we both mentioned that we missed our exes because the sex had been so good." Ashlynn explained.
"Were you drunk?! You actually were talking about sex? Sex with him?" Zoe asked, amazed.
"No! We were discussing our exes. The only thing I really miss about Christoph was that he was so damn good in bed. And then he told me about his ex. Then we sat in silence for a few minutes. We were both thinking of sex. So feeling bold, I finished up my drink, slammed the glass down and asked him if he wanted to go up to his room. He said yes and then you know what happened next!"
Zoe stared at her, her mouth agape. "Look at you!! I'm glad you're getting out and having fun since you and dickhead are done. He was so possessive of you."
Ashlynn sighed. "Yes, towards the end he got really bad. He was always drunk or high."
"I'm glad you two split up. The way he treated you made me sick."
"I know. I had to fight with him to sign the divorce papers."
"Do you want me to take you back to your apartment or do you want to go to dinner?"
"Let's go get something to eat."
Meanwhile, at another airport, Simon was being picked up by his ex-wife, Emma. She was waiting for him just outside. Despite the divorce, the two remained close, and Simon was happy to see her.
He threw his suitcase in the backseat of her car and then got in the front seat. "Hello, love" he greeted her, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Simon! How was it?" she inquired.
He couldn't help but crack a smile. "It was rather good actually."
"Really? How so?" she asked intrigued.
"I met the most beautiful woman last night and spent the night with her. It was amazing." he confessed.
Emma's eyes widened. "Really?! So it was a good evening then?"
"Yes. We met at the hotel bar, talked for ages and I felt this strong connection with her."
"So, are you going to see her again?"
"I hope so."
"Did you get her number?"
"Uh no. I didn't think to get it. It wasn't like that."
Emma looked at him in amazement. "Are you fucking kidding me?! Oh my god, Simon! Why?!"
"It wasn't like that." He repeated.
"It sounded like more than a one night stand to me. If you two felt a connection then you should have gotten her phone number or hell, even her email address." she shook her head at him. "Sometimes you can be really stubborn."
Simon rolled his eyes at her and changed the subject. "So, how's Aiden? Have you seen him lately?"
Their son, Aiden, was a senior in college. He frequently came home to spend time with both parents.
"He's good. He came home for a bit of peace and quiet to study for an exam and to work on his paper. That was about a week ago."
One day after she had returned home from Zoe's apartment, there was a knock at the door.
Briefly in her mind, she wished it was Simon at her door and she smiled to herself thinking how wonderful that would be but her face fell when she opened it.
There stood Christoph, her ex. He was tall and toned but not overly muscular. His dark brown hair was now wavy and shoulder length.
She couldn't deny the fact that he was attractive. Bright blue eyes, high cheekbones and a strong jawline.
"Hello beautiful." he greeted her when she opened the door.
Ashlynn was surprised to see him there.
When they divorced and she sold their house that her parents had bought for
them, she had moved into her own apartment and had only told a few people her new address.
"Christoph." she greeted him coldly.
"Can I come in?"
"No. That's not a good idea."
"Why not? All I want to do is talk to you."
"What is there to talk about? We're not getting back together. I think you said all you had to say with your fists." she snapped.
"I know and I'm here to apologize. I've cleaned up. I haven't been using and I've been sober for 3 months. I've missed you so much baby."
Ashlynn shook her head at him. "I've got a restraining order, you should go before I call the police."
He looked hurt. "You'd do that to me? Really?"
Ashlynn shook her head at him. "Look, I just got home. I want to relax on my own. So, it's not a good time. Go home."
The smile on Christoph's face vanished. "Why do you always have to be such a bitch?" he snarled at her.
"And this is why I don't want to talk to you. Good night, Christoph." She slammed the door and immediately he started pounding on the door.
"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR, ASHLYNN!!"
"No. Go away Christoph. We're done. I'm not dealing with you when you're like this." she remarked, shaking her head.
"OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR NOW!"
Ashlynn walked over and sat down on the couch, hoping he would leave. She sat there trembling and the more he yelled and pounded on the door, the more scared she became.
"I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME! LET ME IN!! QUIT BEING SUCH A FUCKING BITCH!" he sneered as he beat on the door.
Minutes later, she heard more voices outside her door and when she looked out, the police were there. "One of the neighbors must have called them." she thought, embarrassed by the whole scene Christoph had caused.
She opened the door and spoke to the officer. "I have a restraining order against him."
