On a peaceful bicycle ride down a north Georgia country road in late summer with humidity and the heat in the high range a vehicle passes on the left destined to tool on down the road. The driver screams out at the passing bicyclist to, "Get the HELL off the road!" At the same time, she swerves into the oncoming lane just to yank her SUV too far to the right causing her to venture off the road a bit. She finally rights the vehicle continuing on down the road. The ride is exhilarating as the rider steps up the speed to the highest possible resulting in a downhill speed of 35+ MPH while still pumping the pedals hard.
At the end of the hill heading to the next uphill the SUV is pulled off the road blocking the way awkwardly and at a strange angle. A person is out by the passenger side slightly hidden by the SUV and the bicyclist slows to check on the person to be sure everything is alright. While approaching sobbing is heard as he gets off the bike to see what the issue can be with this person that was so adamantly screaming earlier. Rounding the car, he sees a woman that is perched on the side runner of the SUV crying in a big way.
He says, "Hi, are you OK? Can I help you?"
She screams, "Not unless you have a gun and feel like killing someone for me! I want that cheating bastard to die a horrible death!"
With the knowledge garnered from numerous similar times with previous wives he states, "I know how you feel. Did you just find out or catch him in the act? I have been through both and not so long ago that I've forgotten. My name is Charles, what is yours?"
The young lady stops crying as hard and sobs, "Sharon. Have you really truly been there. I can't believe he's done this to me. So soon after we moved here and he knows I am trying to get pregnant!"
Charles relates, "Yes, with my first two wives. They both started fooling around while I was busy taking care of the children, first mine then with the second hers. I even offered to share her in the second case, she and her boyfriend refused so I divorced her." He continues, "So, here I am now with a wife who doesn't like sex anymore which is a different situation. I guess at least she's not stepping out but still people have needs."
"Wow, I guess it could be worse huh?" Sharon says with a sobbing chuckle. "You really are kind of funny. Sorry I yelled at you back there but I was crying so hard I almost hit you and then almost ran into that truck. I pulled over because I scared myself half to death and don't feel like dying because of that jerk."
Charles says, "It would be far safer if you pull down this road to your right to the end, about Β½ a mile, and pull into the forest clearing. I'll follow you down there if you like and we can talk. This way we're both out of traffic and not at as much risk as sitting here. Besides, if a cop came by he'd ticket you for parking on the side of the road.
