"I will look out for you," said Mildred Eustache as she hugged the hell out of Franklin Williamson. The mature Haitian woman smiled to herself while holding onto that fine young black American man. Franklin looked a lot like his father Jerrod Williamson, a military man who reminded Mildred of the actor Louis Gossett Jr. too bad Jethro was married to a white lady named Karen Ambroise because good looks run in the family. Since Mildred couldn't have the father, she would settle for the son. A win is a win at the end of the day.
Back in the day, Franklin's mother Gloria Williamson was good friends with Mildred Eustache. The two black women met while attending Spelman College in the City of Atlanta, Georgia, and remained friends in the decades since. After spotting Franklin at Gloria's funeral, Mildred had to offer him words of comfort. The brother was twenty years old and just lost his mama. To say that this is a difficult time would be an understatement. Mildred was just what Franklin would need to get through the grieving process...

Mildred most definitely wanted some of Franklin's masculine goodness but knew it would take some time. The mature Haitian woman was perfectly willing to play the long game. Mildred is a successful woman who owns three hair salons in the Metro Atlanta area, plus one authentic Haitian restaurant. The lady likes to play her games and what she wants, she usually gets.

In the months since the funeral, Franklin resumed his classes at Morehouse College, and focused on his civil engineering studies. Mildred continued to meet with Franklin, checking up on him from time to time. The Haitian gal was generous with her time and money. Franklin was a broke college student and he was grateful to Mildred for bringing him home cooked meals at his dorm on the Morehouse College campus. It all seemed so innocent...
