This is the fourth and final part of a series. While it might be enjoyable on its own, it will make much more sense if you have read the previous parts of the adventure that started on Sunday.
I snoozed the alarm enough times to make myself late the next morning. When I finally got out of bed, I had to rush through getting dressed and only had time to grab a breakfast bar on the way out. The house was quiet. Todd would be in the middle of his sleep, and I guess Jenny felt just as tired as I did, and was exercising her option to start work later.
The work day didn't get much better. All the students in the class were just ready to be done and go home, but the instructor was feeling crunched to cover all the material that we hadn't gotten to yet. The two conflicting mindsets just made things terrible, with the instructor pressing us to absorb and answers questions quickly, but the students being unresponsive. I got through the day by daydreaming about the fun I'd been having each evening, and wondering what tonight had in store. I wasn't sure how we were going to make it better, but I was optimistic we'd come up with something. Worse case scenario, we'd just hang out, not even having sex. I was ok with that. We'd indulged more than our fair share already.
My daydreaming came to an end just after lunchtime. I got a text from Todd. Since it was the day before launch, and the team basically had everything ready, they were all allowed to report two hours late. A group of the guys were planning to have dinner and then shoot some pool at a local place, and Todd was excited to bring me along to meet his work friends and have a guys night out with me. Thankfully, this conversation took place over text so I didn't have to hide the disappointment at not getting another night alone with Jenny. And thankfully he told me early enough that I had all afternoon to fix my attitude. Like I said, Jenny and I had gotten more than our fair share together. And I did like Todd, so as long as I didn't ruin the night by dwelling on what could have been, I would have a good time. Still, sigh.
By the time I got to the house, I had my game face on. Todd was getting ready to go and in good spirits. "Hey man, how long until you're ready?" I shrugged. "Aren't I pretty enough for ya? I'm good to go now." He chuckled. "Alright, give me ten minutes, most of these guys run late anyway. Let's make that leave in 20. Jenny's got a friend coming over in about 30 minutes, and," he lowered his voice, "I'd just as soon be gone before that. I mean, Jessie's fine but she can get to talking and she makes it hard to walk away." He headed to the back to finish getting ready.
Jenny came out as Todd left the room. "Hey, good news about guys night out huh?" She had a big grin pasted on her face. I really couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or laughing at the disappointment she knew I felt. I looked at her, then looked toward the back of the house. A little louder than necessary, I said "Yeah, this worked out, didn't it. Dinner and pool isn't the most extraordinary entertainment, but I'm guessing the crowd is good."
"Yeah, they're a bunch of cool guys, you'll like them." Jenny walked past me and headed into the kitchen, prepping some snacks and drinks. "The place is very ordinary, but we like the owner and he takes real good care of his customers."
I walked up behind Jenny, making motions at helping her but really just moving in close so that I could speak softly. "I'm sure you're aware, but just to be crystal clear, guys night is a distant second choice for what I REALLY want to be doing tonight. Namely, you."
She was standing behind the kitchen counter, looking back toward the bedroom. She was silent for a moment. Not hearing anything, or anyone coming down the hall, she reached back to me and grabbed my crotch. "Really? That's sweet of you to say." She looked up at me, now rubbing me through the fabric of my pants. "I'm not sure how we could do better than last night, but yeah, even a step down from what you did to me last night would have been great for me too." She stepped away and went back to bringing some food out of the fridge.
I let out a deep breath. I changed the subject because I needed to stop thinking about what wasn't going to happen tonight. "So, you've got a friend coming over?"
"Yeah, Jessie. Her boyfriend Brian will be out with you guys, so we're taking advantage of a little girl time. Snacks, wine and gossip. You'd hate it."
I snorted. "I doubt it. As long as there are beautiful women involved, I can dive into just about any conversation. But if I pass up barbecue and pool for wine and gossip, I think they take away my man card. There is a minimum amount of macho I need to maintain to be able to satisfy women, so I better stick with the guys." Darn it. I didn't mean to turn the conversation back to sex, it just kept happening.
We left and met up with the guys as planned. The night was actually pretty fun. I managed to put thoughts of Jenny out of my head and just focus on the moment. The group got along great. It certainly wasn't a bachelor party and didn't generate any stories that would need to be relived later, because most of the people still had to go to work that night. But I was glad to have the time with Todd and meet his other friends.
The group stayed out until the last minute, so Todd just dropped me off at the house on his way in to work. Jessie's car was still there. "Have fun crashing girls night!" Todd laughed as we pulled up. I grimaced. "Maybe I can just sneak back into my room and turn in early." He slapped me on the shoulder as I got out of the car. "Good luck with that. Knowing those too, they'll want to have you explain why men do all the stupid things they do." As he pulled away, I yelled "That's easy, because we're stupid!" He waved a hand out the window and was off.
