I debated whether or not to write and share this series of stories for some time. After discussing it with my wife, I decided to share with her blessing. It took a long time for her to get to the point of being comfortable with me knowing what I now know and for her to talk about it too.
The series of stories that follow this prologue are stories of my wife Erin's sexual awakening when she was in college. The stories are as a result of me finding old sex videos of her and what she has told me about not just the videos and the people in the videos, but other stories of her past as well.
My wife and I had known each other for eighteen years and had been married for fifteen at the time of the my discovery. I should mention here that at no time during our relationship and marriage have I ever felt she was being unfaithful in any way, and I have always been faithful to her. We are and always have been a monogamous couple. But we have not known each other forever. The details of what happened with who before we met were always something I was curious about, but was never able to learn much about from her. Getting the answers all started with the Christmas decorations.
Erin likes decorating our house for the different seasons and the holidays that come with them. Christmas is her favorite. Each year she starts putting those decorations up the day after Thanksgiving. Fall of 2023 was no different as she excitedly started decorating for Christmas.
The decorations are stored in storage totes and bins in our attic along with some other totes of stuff too. Typical old stuff, old clothes, yearbooks, sports awards, pictures, letter jackets, and so on. Stuff that neither of us know why we are keeping, but yet still do. Occasionally she goes up there to take stuff up for storage or to rearrange stuff and make more room. I always help her bring the totes down from the attic when she decorates, that's my job.
Topping the attic steps, I noticed an out of place wicker style hand bag laying on the floor near a rafter brace. Even though the attic is storage space, she likes keeping things organized and in totes. The bag was out of place.
She had used the bag a few times, but it was not an item she used much. Nearing the bag there was a stack of papers topped with fading pictures that had been printed on plain old 8 1/2" x 11" printer paper lying on top in the bag.
Taking a moment to investigate, I grabbed the stack of papers and looked through the pile quick. The first few papers were old high school sports pictures that I had seen other copies of a few times over the years. The remaining papers in that pile were mostly junk. They consisted of old receipts, packing slips, old product directions, and other nondescript papers. By the looks of it, papers that should have been burned but somehow made it to the attic. My initial thought was that the bag was full of stuff she sorted out to get rid of, but forgot for some reason. Underneath the papers was a stack of about thirty pictures.
These pictures were printed on glossy 3"x5" photo paper. The dates printed in little tiny orange letters on the lower left corner of the photos indicated that they had been taken between her senior year of high school and during the beginning of her first semester of college. Most of the pictures I had seen at least once and I knew who a few of the people in them were. Chase, her old boyfriend from high school was in a couple as well as a few other friends I recognized from her neighborhood.
I had heard a few small details about Chase and Erin but nothing substantial or detailed. I did know that the two of them had broken up around the time or just before starting college.
Her first college roommate Jamie and two of her college friends that I had met were in the others. There were also a number of mostly girls and a few guys that I did not know in the pictures. Typical college party pictures, some drunken expressions here and there, her and her friends having fun, and group photos with dorm rooms, apartments, or the campus in the back ground.
The next items in the bag were two pairs of mesh athletic shorts bearing the name of her college on the legs. Pulling them out, an old school mini dvd r disc case had been wrapped up in the shorts and fell to the floor. Picking it up and inspecting it, I noticed that it had "2002" written on it. August 2002 was the date of her first semester of college. The disc inside the case was also labeled "2002". Neither had any other identifying marks on them. Setting it aside for the moment I returned my attention to the bag. In the bottom of the bag there were a bunch more pictures. The pictures in the bottom of the bag were more college pictures of the same type as the first stack of college pictures. The dates were strung out over her time in college.
With the bag emptied out, I returned all of the items to the bag and went back to getting the tubs of decorations out. Returning down stairs I asked Erin about the bag.
"Hey babe what's up with the wicker hand bag by the rafter brace?" I asked.
"Nothing really, it is some old stuff that I cleaned out of my storage tubs and meant to throw away. I forgot to because while I was up there the land line rang and I ran down to answer it." She replied smiling at me.
"Would you please get it and throw it in the garbage when you go up again?" She asked.
Smiling back I made a comment about the pictures, "It looks like there was a lot of fun being had in those pictures."
"Yes there was, and they are old pictures from along time ago." She responded.
Continuing on I asked, "Are there any old boyfriends in those pictures?"
She responded back, "The pictures are old and it really does not matter now does it?"
Not stopping when I should have, I continued on, "Is there anything good on the disc?"
There was a noticeable change in her demeanor, to an emotion I could not really place at the time. "Look just get the bag and throw it and the shit in it out." was her abrupt response.
I knew enough to stop at that point. Something about her tone and emotion had changed when the disc was mentioned. She was not mad, but she was not happy about my questioning. Not able to place the emotion that she had just shown, I went back to get more tubs of decorations for her.
