"Why not?" Taylor asked me as she sat up on the bed, pulling her knees up to her chest. I adjusted so that I was resting my head on my hand, supporting by my elbow on the bed.
Earlier that night, Taylor and I had agreed to officially be in a relationship. And just now, after arriving back at my house following a Valentine's Day date, we had each giving the other an orgasm and she had given me permission to take her virginity. But, I had told her no.
"Because, you told me that you want to save yourself for marriage and I think that that's an important goal to make and keep, regardless of what we're feeling now," I told her.
"Oh," she said, looking away from me.
I sat up more in the bed until I was sitting next to her and I wrapped my arm around her shoulders, pulling her close to me. She laid her head down on my shoulder after a couple of seconds, I kissed the top of her head, and she let out a sign before saying, "Thank you, Christopher. That's why I know I can trust you."
The next day, Lauren had asked me if I could come over and help her pack her moving van, along with some other people in the ward. After it was all packed, everybody said goodbye to her, telling her that they would miss her, before they left, leaving just Lauren and I as the last adults there. I had been debating on telling her about Taylor and I, but Taylor told me that it wouldn't be very nice to let Lauren know that day, and even gave me permission to give her a goodbye kiss, as long as it didn't lead to anything else.
Lauren's parents were making the drive with her up to her new place in Idaho and had her kids loaded into their car, with one of them driving it, one driving Lauren's car, and Lauren driving the moving van. With everybody loaded, Lauren walked up to me and said, "Thank you, Christopher. I'm going to miss you."
I wrapped my arms around her as she did to me and pulled her close to my body. "I'm going to miss you, too. Promise to text me when you get there?"
"Of course. Will you come visit me?" She asked, looking into my eyes.
"Of course," I told her.
We held each other tight for a little longer until Lauren said she had to go. Our lips met in a passionate embrace as we squeezed our bodies tight. When we ended the kiss and let go, both of us had tears in our eyes that we wiped away as she got into the moving van. I stayed and waved goodbye as I watched her pull away from her townhouse, followed by her parents. When they were out of my eyesight, I turned to get into my car and left to go get my daughters.
Later that day, Taylor sent me a text that said, "So, my mom just asked if me and you are official."
"What did you tell her?" I sent back.
"Kinda just blew it off. Told her I had a great time with you last night. But, I do think we need to tell them and I was wondering what you thought about doing it together. Or should you just talk to my dad?" She replied.
"I'll do whatever you think is best," I told her.
"Ok. I'll let you know. Maybe I'll just sit next to you at church tomorrow and see if they figure it out," she said.
The next day at church, Taylor did come sit next to me and my kids but nobody really paid attention, as her sister and brother-in-law, along with their son, also sat down on the same pew as us.
My middle daughter needed to use the restroom after the sacrament part of the meeting, so I left my other two with Taylor and walked to the bathroom with her. As I waited outside of it for her, Taylor's dad walked out of the chapel and came up to me. "So, I heard that your date with Taylor on Friday went so good, that now you two are in a relationship?"
Caught off guard, I let out a nervous laugh before asking, "Where did you hear that from?"
"Taylor," Mark said, with a big laugh and smile. "Don't worry. I think its awesome. She trusts you and so do I."
Mark patted me on my back before he walked into the restroom, right as my daughter walked out of the women's. I grabbed onto her hand and we walked back to the chapel together. When I sat down next to Taylor, I pulled out my phone and typed out a message, showing her one that read, "So, your dad knows about us?"
Taylor nodded her head after a quiet laugh and leaned over to whisper in my ear, "Yes, sorry, I didn't want to wait so I told them this morning. I figured if it turned out to he a problem, I could have warned you beforehand. But, they were both actually happy about it."
"Well, that's good," I said. "Could have majorly backfired."
"No kidding," she said. "I was pretty nervous."
After the first hour of church ended, I made sure my daughters made it to their classes OK before I went to my class, a males-only class called Elder's Quorum. The only empty chair was next to Mark, who greeted me warmly as I sat down next to him. Right before the class started, he leaned over to me and said, "While I am happy for you and Taylor, I would still like to have a little sit down with you, one-on-one, if that's OK."
I told him it was and just to say when. After class, I told Taylor what her dad said and told her it would be better to do it soon. She agreed and suggested the next day, saying that she could watch my kids while me and him talked.
The next day, Mark and I went downstairs to talk while Taylor stayed upstairs with the kids. Our talk mainly centered on my feelings for Taylor, what I expected from the relationship, and what his thoughts and feelings on it were. For the most part, it went pretty well, with his main concern being me not wanting to wait for marriage. I tried my best to reassure him that I was going to respect Taylor's values and morals but when he asked if we had done anything, I don't think he believed my answer.
Taylor's mom joined us after I finished talking with Mark and we all sat around the kitchen as my kids played and I cooked everybody dinner. Her parents left shortly after dinner, thanking me for cooking it and telling me that they looked forward to many more.
Taylor hung out in the living room while I quickly got my kids to bed before I went out and joined her on the couch. As I wrapped my arm around her, she said, "Well, I think my parents like you."
I laughed and said, "I never thought I'd feel like a teenager while having three kids and making dinner for seven people."
