Love Between the Spreadsheets, #3
Meghan and Jerome flirted at the office, went out for a wonderful dinner and are now at Jerome's apartment getting ready for their second dessert.
"Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back."
Meghan settled down on Jeremy's cushy couch and looked at the art on his living room walls. He had good taste! Meghan especially liked a grouping of pictures of beautiful butterflies.
Jeremy returned from the kitchen with two liqueur glasses. "I hope you like Drambuie, Otherwise, I can get some Grand Marnier or Kahlua."
"Drambuie is great. (Whoa. This guy is classy.) So are these butterflies."
"Glad you like them. I took those pictures last summer."
"So you're not just a money cruncher?"
I am when I have to be, But my main hustle is art photography."
"Is that all?"
"Well, I also model menswear here and there."
"Really? Any place I might see you?"
"Yes, um, New York Times Magazine. GQ..."
"I knew you were good-looking but I never realized you were a model. Why in the world are you doing accounting?"
"I like to keep my hand in so it's available if the modeling business goes bust. Plus it's fun to step in at tax season and be a hero."
'This is wild."
"I wasn't going to tell you unless you asked."
"And how in the world are you single?"
"I could ask the same of you."
"I had a bad breakup awhile ago and I just started putting all my energy into my business."
"I was actually engaged to be married and she broke it off a month before the wedding."
Meghan took a sip of her Drambuie. She had forgotten how good it tasted and how she immediately felt warm inside.
"Well, I don't mind having a wonderful date and breaking my self-imposed hermitage."
"That's a pretty fancy word for sitting at home and licking your wounds. Meanwhile, (Jeremy sighed) I guess I've been doing the same thing."
Meghan put her drink down and took Jeremy's. "Jeremy."
"Yes?"
