The last two days went well as we had dry runs throughout the grounds. Stores are stocked, rides have gone through their safety checks, the casino is ready, hotels are open, and workers have made their way for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m.
The amphitheater opens next weekend, seating 1100, priced from closest to the stage, and sold out the next three weekends with three top ten groups and some up-and-coming artists. Check our website for further information on performers.
Lori and I will be mingling with the people this weekend, the ranch will open for adults and children on Monday for 6 days, then gay men, the third week, lesbian ladies, and the fourth week, adults. A working ranch, with farm animals needing attention, and daily horseback rides, only the family week is not an optional clothing stay.
Work continues on the property, new attractions, hotels, motels, and the light rail from the Auburn station is the only way in for the public, we limited roads to make it safer. A large parking garage is at the Auburn end, transportation, only $2 each way, runs every 15 minutes until 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. then it is every half hour. Workers. Not living on the property, use the light rail. We have 50 home rentals, and 1,000 apartments built at this time on the property, renting for half of what they cost in town, for workers and their families only.
"Welcome," I said to the masses standing in front of one of the hotels. "The mayor of Auburn and my beautiful wife, Lori, are here to cut the ribbon and welcome you on opening day. If you have questions, ask one of our staff members, they have The International badges on, green and gold, the colors of Auburn High School. Lori and I will be walking about as well. We are a bit homeless, selling our penthouse in Seattle and waiting for our home on the hill to be finished. They told us we should have the bedroom, kitchen, and living room ready for use this coming week. The Castle is styled after one in Europe, you probably recognize it. Without further ado, Mr. Mayor and Lori cut the ribbon and everyone have a great day at whatever venue you will be at."
The ribbon was cut and hundreds of people poured down the street. Some checking into one of the hotels, others to the shopping area, or the casino, or Club International, the adult sex club which replaces the Swingers club in the Northwest, and at a much less expensive way to play.
Rides on the light rail, I was told, are running about an hour to an hour and a half. Most people using it come from Seattle, Tacoma, the airport, and farther north from Everett. This takes pressure off the parking garage in Auburn, which is about half full right now.
"What a turnout," the Mayor said as Lori and I had made reservations for The Fisherman's International-Auburn for lunch.
Seated, we placed our order and talked about our investment.
"We are glad you chose to build in Auburn. While cities are aging, and Auburn was, you have provided a major shot in the arm financially, and your investment in Auburn High School is welcome. It is the oldest of the four high schools in the district. Lori, we are happy to have you as a teacher, our gain is Rainier Beach's loss."
"Thank you," Lori said as our appetizers were brought out, Samplier plates. "I was a sad way to end my first-year teaching. This fall I will have four classes, one for each grade, and a class at Green River College, which will be how the International came about."
"We went from a Sporting Goods store, athletic apparel manufacturing, the Swinger clubs being replaced with Club International--Auburn, to what you see here which is just the beginning. We bought more property for expansion and manufacturing, which will mean more employees. Some people think we are just a sex operation, and we do like to offer adult pleasure, but this is more than that. The International Outlet, for instance, is in all the stores we own and most of the products we make. We pay cash for what we are doing, and our goal is to provide an excellent experience in everything we offer."
We finished lunch and gave the mayor one of our exclusive passes. This will get you a locker or room at Club International, all the rides, and the entrance to the water park. You have to pay at other places such as music venues, casinos, hotel rooms, etc. Enjoy your day, thanks for your help in getting us up and running here."
Lori kissed him on his cheek, and a hug, I shook hands and hugged as Lori, and I departed to tour the facility and play.
We headed over to Club International where we showed our STD test results and presented our Executive card. The young man checking us in asked, "So, I take it, you work here as well."
"We both do," I replied. "How has the opening been?"
"Busy, and a lot we sent to the clinic for the testing before they go in. So, what do you do here?"
"My wife is a schoolteacher and works in the office here. Someone said I just fuck around all day." I laughed. "You going to college?"
"I go to Green River, saw the ad for work on the school's website and applied. The pay is great. So you are in from out of town, like most?"
"No, I live locally," I told him, enjoying the conversation. My wife is teaching a new class at Green River which deals with the business of the International."
"I am a business major; I have signed up for the class." He told us as he processed our transaction, giving us a room. "I know the instructor has some connection here."
"She does," I answered, taking the key as he told us we have the room for 5 hours. "I also need the rooms on both sides for the same period, these people behind me will be sharing." They produced their paperwork, and he processed their entrance when they handed him their cards.
"Security team, you never know when you need bodyguards,"
He chuckled. "Great cover for getting laid. You must be the King of England."
"Close. How about I'm your boss and enjoy toying with you."
"Good one," he said. "I must be his son working undercover."
"No, I don't have a son, or maybe I do but he would be too young to be here. I better let you go, the line is growing, and money is to be made. Let your manager know I am in the building checking things out for a while. Tell him you need a break to visit us, you know our room number, Lori needs some manly attention and the students are her forte. Let him know I told you to join us, so don't clock out.
