Nora managed to get to college on a soccer scholarship. Her athleticism had always been a strong point of hers. Academics, however, is another story. She knew she would need a friend to help her with her studies. She noticed she had a lot of the same classes with a guy named Joel. She made a point to sit next to him regularly and chat with him about class.
Joel was rather shy at first. He would often blush and struggle to come up with things to talk about. As time went on, he opened up a bit more. He shared that he hoped to get his bachelor's degree in literature and that his ultimate goal was to become a poet someday. He spent most of his time reading books and found it fascinating when an author would get so deeply introspective. "When you read enough of an author's work," he said, "It is as if you know them yourself."
"That's cool," Nora said, "I always felt like I really get to know people out on the soccer field. You can tell a lot about a person and their character by how they play the game."
Joel was a great student, and Nora's grades improved a lot by studying with him. Overtime, she started to develop a romantic interest in him. Most guys found her intimidating. She was always so forward and aggressive, which tended to keep most male companionship away from her. Joel seemed to actually like that about her. He appreciated the way she would pull him out of his shell. She liked how smart he was. She liked how tall and skinny he was. She liked how red his face would get when she called him cute or winked flirtatiously at him.
Joel enjoyed the attention paid to him. He was so used to always being in the background. It was nice having someone so interested in what he had to say, even if it was for class. He had developed quite an infatuation with Nora. She was so confident and willful in every situation. It was hard for him not to be in awe of her. He never liked sports, but he bought season tickets to the college soccer games just to watch her. She dominated the field like a proud lioness. When she would make strides across the field, his eyes couldn't help but admire her strong legs and her firm butt.
One evening, after Nora and her team had finished winning a soccer game, she approached the stands where Joel was. Joel handed her a towel. "You did awesome out there as always Nora!" he exclaimed.
She smiled up at him as she rubbed her neck with the towel. "You have any other plans for tonight?" she asked.
"No," Joel replied, "Why?"
"Let's grab a pizza and go hang at my place," she said.
"Oh okay," Joel said, "The whole team coming to celebrate the win."
She smirked and said, "No doofus. I just want you there."
"Oh," Joel said blushing slightly, "I'll go and pick it up and meet you there."
