Will
Will Harper has been through a lot recently. His car got totaled. He and his wife decided to split up. He moved out. His office building closed early for much-needed renovations. It's how he ended up in an apartment near campus that was clearly intended for students. It's why he was walking to work everyday. It's why the second bedroom in his little apartment was a hastily thrown together office so he could offer office hours over the last two weeks of school.
Will, a social sciences professor, could at least look at that one ray of sunshine in these otherwise dark days. He loved his job. He had been teaching several classes at the university over the last three years and found that he absolutely loved teaching. Particularly when he had a group of students or even one student who were actively engaged with the subject. This semester, he had one of those students, but the lively discussions around the subject were done for the year. Today was the final exam, a boring and unengaging way to end a semester of challenging conversation.
Nevertheless, Will was happy as he walked the few short blocks to the building where he taught. He stopped at his favorite food truck for a breakfast sandwich, and polished it off as he made his way past throngs of students, hurrying off for their morning of exams. He had high confidence that his class would do well on the final, which was not only required by the university but also required to be 40% of the students' overall grade. Will thought this was ridiculous, but was way too early in his career to push back on it.
Will waited for the clock to strike 8:30 before greeting the class and passing out the exam. When he returned to the desk at the front of the lecture hall, he noticed that something was amiss. Well, that someone was missing. Maddie Lee, his star pupil this semester, wasn't present. This was highly unusual.
Will sat down and flipped open his laptop to check his email. Maddie, an education major and member of the university's volleyball team, had never missed a class. She completed all of the assignments, did any extra credit he offered, and always engaged in class discussions. Will was also impressed that she also seemed to always dress for class. Maddie put in the effort, you wouldn't catch her in sweatpants or pajamas in class. She treated her academic career as though it was her professional career, a trait that Will appreciated. There was nothing in his inbox from Maddie, so he fired off a quick email to her to check in and make sure everything was ok.
As time ticked by and Will received no response, he was genuinely concerned. This was so out of character for Maddie that something had to be seriously wrong. By the time the exam period had ended, Will was looking into safety procedures at the university to see if there was some sort of action he could take. Unfortunately, the period ended and Will had to clear out for another professor's exam, so he headed back to his apartment to continue looking into the matter.
Maddie
The door to Maddie's dorm swung open, hitting the wall and waking her up. Maddie groggily tried to gain her bearings as her roommate, Jules, bounded into the room. Maddie slowly sat up, the sheet slipping down and puddling in her lap.
"Oh shit, sorry Mads!" Jules exclaimed.
Maddie rubbed her eyes and gradually became aware of the world around her. It was morning. She had just woken up. But Jules was coming into the dorm, fully dressed. Maddie was always up and dressed before Jules. Dressed. Maddie quickly drew her arms up to her bare breasts. Had she slept naked? She never does that. Why was she naked?
"Fun night?" Jules asked, nodding to Maddie's left.
Sprawled out next to her was Robbie, her boyfriend. He was out cold on his back next to her, his morning wood pitching a tent in her sheets. Suddenly, everything came back to her.
Maddie had planned to spend the night studying, but Robbie begged and pleaded for her to come to a party with him and she relented. She definitely drank too much and, knowing Jules was at a friend's dorm for the night, brought Robbie home. They had some sloppy sex and clearly passed out immediately after. Maddie groaned and slid out of bed.
"Robbie, get up, I have to get ready for my final," Maddie said, nudging him.
Robbie slowly came to consciousness, barely catching a glimpse of his girlfriend's ass as she slid her robe on and then noticing her roommate standing next to her. He smiled, and did as he was told, standing up and stretching, his boner pointing at the girls.
"Robbie!" Maddie scolded.
Jules just rolled her eyes and went to her desk, her back to Robbie.
"What, you said get up," he replied.
Maddie rolled her eyes.
"Get dressed and get out of here, I have to get ready," Maddie said.
Robbie, realizing his hope for a morning blowjob was not happening, complied. Once he was gone, Maddie started gathering her shower supplies.
"What time is it?" Maddie asked with a yawn.
"11:15," Jules answered.
Maddie's shower caddy hit the floor with a crash, bottles of body wash and conditioner skittering across the floor. Jules looked over at the cause of the sound, seeing Maddie frozen in place, all of the color drained from her face.
"What's wrong?" Jules asked, concerned.
"My final was from 8:30 to 10:30," Maddie said, panic in her voice and tears forming in her eyes.
"Oh shit," Jules gasped.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Maddie swore. "I shouldn't have gone to that party! What am I going to do? That's 40% of my grade, I am so royally screwed!"
Jules jumped up and pulled her pacing roommate into a hug.
"Mads, chill out, this is fixable," Jule consoled. "You just have to talk to your professor. Which one is it?"
"Professor Harper," Maddie answered.
"Well shit, no problem!" Jules exclaimed. "You have like a perfect grade in that class and you are clearly his favorite. Just talk to him! Find out when his office hours are and go talk to him!"
"You're right," Maddie agreed, calming down. "I'll talk to him. Maybe he'll let me make it up? I can do it today before the athletic awards banquet!"
"Go take a shower, start getting ready for the banquet, and send him an email," Jules said.
