Readers, this a fictional road story set in the 1980's, before cell phones and the internet as we know it today. All sexualized characters are fictional and over 18. There is pot smoking in this story. I hope all enjoy.
It was 7AM on Andromeda's dash clock, with all packed in and on top of the Station-Wagon, tightly tied down for the long ride today. They waved to a bleary-eyed Star leading two children to the bathroom.
"If all goes well, we should be there by two pm, maybe one-thirty if traffic is light. We can call her when we get gas, and you take over sometime after we get past the worst of New York." Lou said, while he gave the drive through coffee woman a five as headed out to the highway. Molly opened the hidden box from last night, carefully feeding Lou chunks of the Chocolate doughnuts as the miles ticked by. A live version of "Truckin'" playing from the cassette deck as they reached the first highway.
Lou left the cruise control off for this part of the ride. They wanted to make time when they could and the light, Northeast Sunday morning traffic would run him over if he tried to do fifty-nine, when they all wanted to do sixty-five or higher. At the first stop for gas, Lou filled her and checked the oil while Molly used the bathroom and called Sara to let her know they were on their way and making good time so far. They were hopefully only four hours away if all went well.
After Lou got a chance at the bathroom, Molly got them back out on the road happy to be driving Andromeda on the open highways again. She loved that he called her their car to all who asked about her. She hoped that all would be together for a long time, as she gave here some gas to pass a large tractor-trailer, smiling and having a little fun behind the wheel.
Lou had another doughnut and some more bad gas station coffee, before sparking up a joint in the now thin traffic. They continued to make good time in light traffic and after three hours driving Molly said she was good for the last hour to Sara's if Lou was up for a long stint into New Jersey and the campground.
"Sounds good to me." He'd answered beginning to make Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches on some of the left-over hot dog rolls, handing three to Molly over the next ten minutes with a drink in between. The partly sunny sixty-degree weather making the drive even more pleasant on the spring day.
Molly pulled up in Andromeda and Sara bounded down the stairs of the tired row-house, as no one looked on. She was happy to be gone from this bleak place, now confident in her new friends caring for her and coming to take her from this sad house. Hopefully for good someday, there was no good future in those walls or this area she could see.
Sara threw her two bags in the back deck of Andromeda, hugging both of them while they stretched their backs from the four-hour stint. They talked for a few moments then piled into the car for a quick stop to fill Andromeda again. Sara insisted on paying for this tank of gas for them. She was now working all the hours she could get when not going to the concert and wanted to show them that they would not have to carry her for a month. She hoped to have up to a thousand dollars aside for the trip, since her rent, phone, and a little pot when she could get it were her only real bills, with the carpool to the plant.
Molly took the back seat for this stint so she could lay down after they talked for a while and caught on up on the events of the last few days. Molly first told them of their happy meeting with Megan and Mike and the plans for July were on for all to party together for week before the three of them headed west after a stop to dig for crystals in Upstate New York for a few days total over two stops if all went well and the weather cooperated.
Molly had told her about having a sore right arm then took her long-sleeve shirt off and showed her the bruise on her forearm where she had cloths-lined a would-be thief. It had happened in just a few seconds and Star had lost nothing and her arm would be fine in a few days.
"It did not stop Lou and I this morning before we drove here. I'm so happy my period is over for us in time to meet up." She added stroking Sara's cheek over the seat, while Lou kept his eyes fixed on the road.
"There was something with Star after on the tailgate of Andromeda while we held each other after it all had been over for a moment. It felt like something passed through and looked out onto a world they did not know before leaving us after a moment."
Sara was a little confused, but Molly promised her, and Star would try and explain it to her better. Sara was becoming a pupil of Molly and Star, in this new and open life and all should be explained to all of those who would like to know and may get to experience some of this in the future.
They smoked a joint before Molly went to take a nap for an hour while Lou and Sara talked up front. About an hour short of the camp, they stopped for a quick bathroom break and a top off of gas. Molly moved to join them up front so all could watch for a good place for dinner when they were near to the camp after they set up for the night. If they saw anything else worth stopping for Lou said to let him know since they were making good time on this Sunday.
"No scorpion bowels please though," he added with a smile.
"Have you ever tried Magic Mushrooms Sara. Molly and I still have some with us and we were wondering if you would like to try them at the first show tomorrow? If the weather is nice of course. Tripping in the cold and rain sucks as far as I'm concerned."
Molly shook her head in agreement. Mushrooms were for the warm and sunny days.
"You can try a little and see how it goes, for each person the trip is different. You don't want to drink when you are on them."
"I would hate to puke while I was tripping. You can smoke all you want though, and I have found it makes the trip a little stronger and can mellow out some things if there is any harshness." Molly told her.
"When the trip is over in about four hours you will just be stoned in the end with some light feelings of the trip coming back at you over the next few days depending on the intensity of the trip and the emotions you experience during the trip."
"On the bad side Sara, Lou added they will taste terrible."
"Like dirty feet in swamp water! Molly said, although the Purple one's we did together have a weird industrial chemical taste to them too, But WOW she exclaimed, they were real fun, especially with Lou after the show she added with a wink across the seat at both of them while stopped at a light.
"I've never done Magic Mushrooms or Acid, but it sounds like fun, and I trust you guys, and I always heard you should do them with people you trust in case you have a problem."
"We will take them about 2 hours before the show begins so you can get used to the effects before getting into a crowd, Molly told her. Once we get inside you will be with me since Lou will have the single ticket tomorrow and be sadly far away from us."
