Three days turned into four, and four into five. With every video Sage had sent, Jeremy lost control of himself and came. He felt powerless, at least that is what he told himself to feel better. It was the only thing he could tell himself when he slept alone in their master bed.
That he was powerless, that this wasn't his choice.
No, it went beyond that. In truth, Jeremy knew that the dynamic had shifted between him and Sage. Jeremy had never been away from Sage this long, and it made his stomach turn knowing that the thing which finally separated them was their next-door neighbor. Jeremy felt outside of himself. He had stopped questioning how David had managed to convince them both to play this game. Most nights, all he could picture was how Sage was being taken, and how much she truly liked it.
His daydreams welled into anxiety as the days bled together, only fading when Sage texted Jeremy Friday evening.
Sage: I miss you.
Jeremy smiled weakly as he read the text.
Jeremy: I miss you a fuck ton.
Sage: I'm only allowed to text you for a little while. Did you cum today?"
Jeremy: No, thankfully. You should be home tomorrow.
Jeremy had reached his breaking point. He couldn't bear another day away from Sage. He had even debated telling David that the game was over and that Sage would be coming home now. But it was only ever a fleeting thought, one that Jeremy knew he wouldn't take action on.
Sage: Good, I'm so sore, I feel like I could sleep for weeks. Plus I have to do chores around his house which... definitely isn't my thing.
Jeremy couldn't help but laugh.
Jeremy: Since when did chores become part of this arrangement?
Sage: Lol, idk. David really seems to get off on it. Either that or he really just wanted an excuse to have someone clean his house.
Jeremy: The fucking was just a rouse to get you to clean.
Sage: Lol omg could you imagine? But yeah, that's what we're doing now I guess. He's also really hell-bent on this idea of me living with him. So we've been playing that up.
Jeremy paused for a moment, debating if he wanted to ask the question most pressing on his mind. He typed out the words slowly, staring at them for a long while.
Do you want to live with him?
It felt like such a petty thing to ask, and it didn't even scratch the surface of what he really feared. Was she developing feelings for David? How many times did they actually fuck per day? Was she falling out of love with him?
Was he losing her?
Jeremy took a deep breath, knowing full well he shouldn't send the message. It would help no one, he knew this. He had to learn to control his insecurities, he had to be self-sufficient. His thumb hovered over the send button.
He pressed it.
Sage saw the message and began to type. Then, her typing stopped. Jeremy rolled over in his bed, fearing the worst. The minutes felt like an eternity passing. Jeremy snapped to his phone as soon as he heard the message notification ring.
Sage: Just be good so I can come home.
Jeremy's teeth clenched as he quickly typed back a response.
Jeremy: Don't worry, I will. I can't wait to see you again.
Sage: I can't wait to see you either. Looks like I'm being summoned, I have to go. Be good for me, ok?
Jeremy: I will, I promise. I love you.
Sage: Love you too.
And just like that, Sage was gone. Once again, Jeremy found himself isolated in his house, the love of his life being fucked just next door. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
"This is only temporary..." He said to himself. "She's going to be home before you know it."
When Saturday finally came, Jeremy could count every second as he waited for Sage to walk through the door. He sat on the couch, checking his phone repeatedly as the hours slowly passed. Morning became afternoon, then evening. There was no word from Sage or David. He wondered if he had mixed up his dates or if they had forgotten.
His fingers fumbled over his phone screen.
Jeremy: Hey, shouldn't you be home by now?
Sage saw the message immediately but didn't begin typing for a few more minutes.
Sage: David says you need to come over before I can go home.
"You have got to be fucking kidding me," Jeremy scoffed as he typed back a response.
Jeremy: Why?
Sage: Just come over, then I can finally go home.
Jeremy sighed, already knowing he would do as he was asked. He reminded himself that this would all be over soon, all he needed to do was get through whatever it was David had planned. He quickly put on his suit and jacket and made his way over to David's house.
