Rune savored one last breath of the cool October air before heading into the cafeteria. Autumn was his favorite part of the year, full stop. He loved the cool weather, the run up to the holidays ... and of course, his favorite day of the year. Halloween.
With the holiday just three days away, their little college campus had transformed. Most college decorations were bargain basement, lame. Good old Turing actually took this stuff seriously. Probably all the Silicon Valley money.
The cafe, the center of student life on campus, was particularly done up. Cobwebs were just the start; all the lights in the cafe were orange, and spooky candles lit the tables. The fountain and the little stream that wound through the courtyard were dyed blood red, and a pretty decent mix of halloween-inspired tunes played over the loudspeakers.
Rune looked around for his crew, as he'd started to think of them. The end of his third month of rebirth, and he was starting to fully ease into his life here. Dating Madison had been the thing that finally made him really feel like he was part of the community at the tech-forward college. Since the end of September they'd been on half a dozen dates ... though none had been as hot and heavy as that memorable dessert had been.
Madi's dark hair was the lure that pulled him across the courtyard to one of their favorite spots. A little side area with a couple of big comfy outdoor chairs and an outdoor couch. It was right by the firepit, a feature Ken had told him would see some use by the end of November.
Madison was in one of the chairs, with Ken and Sydney sharing the other, and a couple of Rune's guy friends. Vincent and Alexander, guys that Rune had started talking to in a few of his classes and had slowly pulled into this growing circle. He was pleased to see them here chatting it up with Ken. Other than knowing and liking Rune, they didn't have a lot in common.
He seemed to be interrupting a heated debate as he got close. "No, no, no. You're just wrong Alex. Sit there in your wrongness and be wrong." Vince already had a good head of steam up.
Alex rolled his eyes. "Man, I'm telling you, one movie doesn't make a franchise. Batman Begins was great, definitely. But Marvel has a lot of bullets in that gun. DC has one and like, a half?"
Vince returned the volley with gusto. "No, see, that's where you're wrong. I admit, the rumors about Nick Cage were ... scary. But everything they've shown for Returns next year looks awesome. And they're already in pre-production for the next Batman. C'mon!"
Alex leaned back on the couch, bending his head to continue reading the poly sci book he was holding. "Whatever you say bro. We'll see." Ken and Syd had been ignoring them, and Madison was sitting with her legs tucked under her, silently laughing as the two of them went back and forth.
They all looked up as Rune said "Hey guys." General greetings all around, and Madi stood up to give him a hug. They settled down into the chair together, her not quite sitting in his lap. "I'm going to go with Alex on this one, Vince. I don't know why, but something tells me Marvel's got its head on straight for the future."
Madi elbowed him. "Do not encourage them, this has been all they've talked about for the last twenty minutes."
Ken looked up from where he was reading himself. "All I hear when they talk is that 'wha wha wha' voice like Charlie Brown's teacher." He grinned over at the guys to let them know he was mostly joking.
Alex just shrugged, and Vince scowled under his horn rims. "We'll see, true believers." Vince's mouth crept up as he considered the group. "You all going to Cora's party Saturday?"
Affirmatives rang around the group, with Sydney's "Hell yeah!" even outshouting Ken. They all looked at her. "What? Cora's dad stocks a good bar." She grinned like a bandit.
"Have I met Cora?", Rune quietly asked Madison. She turned to look at him, the rest of the group's chatter about the party fading into the background.
"I think so? Pretty girl, blonde hair. Great rack!" She grinned, then looked down. "Better than mine anyway."
He poked her in the side. "Oh hush. You're gorgeous." He "ahem-ed" meaningfully. "Speaking of, did you get the last of the stuff you needed for your costume?"
She smiled, and settled closer to him. "Oh yeah. Just picked up the gloves last night. I think you're going to like it." She wiggled her ass, just enough for him to notice, and he wiggled her eyebrows at her response. She giggled. "You all set for yours?"
"Yup. Though I don't think anyone's even going to give me a second look." He smiled back at her.
"I'll be looking at you. In fact, uhh ..." She leaned in closer to him. "I've been going crazy the last few nights since you sent me that picture. You look really good in your costume." She licked her lips. "Good enough to eat."
He chuckled, and used a low, growly voice. "I thought it was supposed to be the other way around, little girl." She squeezed her legs together for a brief moment at the sound of his voice, and he could hear her hold her breath a moment.
"Hey you know that thing we've been talking about?" She quirked an eyebrow at him. "I'm going to bring the condoms tomorrow night."
His grin went full force. "You're sure? You said not to pressure, and I'm happy to ..." She cut him off.
"No, no. Shush." She paused."And don't do any solo adventuring tonight, cowboy. You're going to need your stamina." Her cheeks had gotten a little pink.
"Hey!" Syd's voice cut through their moment. "Madi, stop snuggling your manslut. We gotta go." Sydney was already standing, looking down at the two of them with a level expression on her face.
Madison squeaked, and jumped off of Rune's lap. She grabbed her messenger bag and moved off with Sydney in a hurry. Rune couldn't help but watch their hot asses move off, mostly focusing on Madison's but enjoying the view on Sydney as well. He turned his head, and realized that the other guys were doing the same.
"Focus, boys." Rune said. They turned to face him. "We need to focus on the primary mission for this weekend." Vince rolled his eyes as Alex and Ken broke out into grins.
"I don't understand your obsession with my love life, Rune. I don't need a concerted effort on your part to ..."
