Sorry for the long interval between chapters. I wasn't sure which direction to take the story and was debating if I should delete old stories and write a revised edition. I decided to continue with an ending in sight. Thanks for the patience and hopefully the wait is worth it. The remaining chapters should be coming out in somewhat reasonable intervals.
Thanks again!!

My heart was beating out of my chest. I didn't know how a heart attack felt, but I thought I was having one. Up until this moment, I felt like I was in control over Ms.Santiago, but with one text, she reasserted her dominance.
After many failed attempts at going to sleep, I eventually did an hour before my alarm went off. I woke up with the worst headache I had ever had. When I headed downstairs for breakfast, my mom asked, "Jesus, Jake! What happened to you? Did you not sleep at all?"
"No. I tried, but I couldn't."
"I think you should stay home today and get some sleep. You look horrible."
The offer was very enticing, but I knew if I blew off Ms.Santiago today, it would come back to bite me in the future. I told my mom, "As much as I would love to, I can't miss today. I think I'll grab an energy drink or two and power through it."
With my pulsing headache, I texted Tyler to ask if he could come pick me up, but he replied that he wouldn't be going to school today. I then texted Zoe, and she said she would pick me up.
As I got in her car, she said, "Damn! I knew you said you weren't feeling well, but you look horrible. You want to go back to my house, so I can put some make-up on you? You look like a zombie."
"No, just go to school. I'll live with looking like a zombie."
"What happened?"
After letting out a deep sigh, I answered, "Ms.Santiago. I've been avoiding her after she told me she was seeing someone. Last night, she texted me saying we had to talk, and I'm scared."
"Scared? What can she possibly do?"
"I don't know, and that's why I'm scared."
"Think of it like this: if she publicizes the relationship, her career and life are pretty much ruined. You'll be seen as the guy who banged the hottest teacher in school."
"The pessimist in me is thinking she can ruin me while coming out completely unscathed."
"Stop being such a worry wart and relax."
We pulled into the student parking lot, and my head was on a swivel, looking out for Ms.Santiago. I wanted to avoid her till her class.
All my friends also sensed that something was wrong and kept bugging me about it. Since no one other than Zoe knew, I had to keep shut, despite being tempted to let it all out in hopes they had advice for me.
The first three classes went by in a blur, and it was time to face the music. I had built up a nervous sweat and thought about ditching her class. My phone dinged with a text. Nervously, I looked at who it was, and it was from Ms.Santiago.
Ms.Santiago: Ditch class. Meet me in the nurse's office.
Great! Now, I was trapped with her in a confined space with no one else there. Funny how life works because if this was a month ago, I would've been the happiest man on earth.
As I was walking to the nurse's office, I ran into Zoe. She asked, "Where are you going? Isn't her classroom in the opposite direction? Stop being a little bitch and just deal with it already."
"I am. She asked me to meet her in the nurse's office," as I took out my phone to show her the text.
Zoe gave me an assuring hug and said, "It's gonna be alright. Nothing to worry about. Text me after school so we can talk about it."
I made my way to the nurse's office and took a minute before knocking on the door. There were a couple of voices I could hear from the inside, Ms.Santiago and Nurse Mapleton, I assumed.
After taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door, waiting to be let in. Nurse Mapleton was the one who let me in, though she didn't stay for long. She said, "I'll leave you two alone. Text me if you need anything, and to be safe, I'll lock it from the outside." She gave me a reassuring look before exiting.
Ms.Santiago motioned for me to take a seat on the chair as she leaned up against the wall with her arms crossed under her chest. Even though I knew she was mad at me, I couldn't deny how hot she looked. Especially with the way her arms supported her chest.
There was a long silence before she said, "Well? Do you got anything to say?"
