Friday night was a "meet and greet" event with lots of casual conversations. There were a few surprise meetings as people who knew each other but were unaware of each other's participation in the world of Literotica compared notes and shared stories.
Jessica and Danny were singles at the convention who had known each other in high school but never dated. They'd gone their separate ways to college and careers. Now they saw each other in a very different light. This was, after all, a convention hosted by an adult website. They talked about their series of short-term relationships in college and failures to hit it off with any co-workers. It was heading toward an interesting evening, except for one issue.
"I'm sharing a room to keep costs down," Danny admitted.
"Me too," Jessica replied.
"Maybe we can swap roommates?" Danny asked. "I've got two beds, so they wouldn't have to sleep together together, just in the same room."
"All we have to do is find them and ask them," Jessica replied.
"I've got my roommate's cell number," Danny volunteered.
"I don't, alas," Jessica lamented. "Finding her in this big crowd could be challenging."
"Do you have a picture of her?" Danny asked. "If we both look, it may go faster."
"Unfortunately, no. And there are a lot of women who meet her general description," Jessica admitted.
"There was something in the handout about how to find people in the convention," Danny remembered. He took out the brochure and scanned thru it.
"Here it is," he finally announced. "The sponsor has requested everyone's cell number. All hosts have the list. Hosts can be found at the main entrance to each meeting room."
"They apparently thought of that detail," Jessica sighed with relief. "I'll go get my roommate's number from the host."
"I'll try calling my roommate," Danny said.
He dialed the number, and his roommate picked up after a few rings. "Hey Robby, it's Danny. How are you doing so far?"
"Good," Robby replied. "Meeting a few women who aren't put off by an electrician, but no sparks yet."
"Not surprising, if that's the level of your humor," Danny retorted.
"What's up with you?" Robby asked.
"I ran into an old high school classmate, and we're trying to figure out how to spend some time in private."
"So you need me to not be there for awhile, I take it," Robby surmised.
"That's the idea. Jessica is trying to contact her roommate to see if the four of us can swap roommates."
"That could work as a blind date for the other gal and me," Robby allowed. "Let me know what you two come up with. Bye."
Danny wandered over to the host, where Jessica was still waiting for her turn to ask about her roommate.
"Robby thought the idea of a blind date with your roommate could be interesting," he told her.
"Good," Jessica replied. "The line is slow, but moving."
They chatted as the line inched forward, one seeker after another getting what they needed. Finally, Jessica's turn came and she got her roommate's phone number.
Jessica dialed Paula's number. It took several rings to get an answer. "Hi, Paula, it's Jessica. How's it going?"
"Good," Paula responded. "I've never had to deal with so many interested and interesting men in so short a time."
"I've got a proposition for you," Jessica began. "I ran into an old high school classmate who I'm now seeing in a different light."
"Oh?" asked Paula.
"As in we'd like to spend tonight together," Jessica got right to the point.
"Which means?" Paula played dumb.
"Which means I'd like to swap with Danny's roommate," Jessica explained.
"A blind date?" Paula asked.
"You could look at it that way. Or, just a different person in the other bed if you don't hit it off," Jessica offered.
"Can I meet this blind date?"
"Of course," Jessica answered.
"I'll have Danny call his roommate and we'll get together at the far end of the bar from the entrance," Jessica told Paula.
"See you there in a bit," Paula replied before hanging up.
Danny called Robby again, explained the next step. All four of them converged at the end of the bar.
"This is Jessica, my old classmate," Danny started. "Jessica, this is Robby, my roommate for this weekend and occasional co-worker."
"Nice to meet you," they said at the same time.
"Here's Paula, my roommate for this affair," Jessica introduced the final member of the quartet.
"I'm Danny," he said.
"Robby," the other man added.
"I've never dated a black man before," Paula began. "Is it true you're, how shall we say, well endowed?"
"Getting right to the point," Robby replied. "I'd rather let you see for yourself." He gave a Paula wicked grin and a wink.
"Well, that seems to be settled," Danny concluded. "Now, which couple gets which room? I assume both of you will need to get things from your original room. Robby and I are in 314. Where are you ladies?"
"Oddly, 315, right across the hall," Paula replied. "This place is starting to thin out, so our leaving now won't be a big deal to anyone."
They made their way to the elevator bank and waited for the next car. A few other couples joined them in the line. They got into the elevator, and quickly reached the third floor.
