Cindy lay in bed lonely without her new husband Kurt. They'd been married for two months. His company sent him on a business trip; she wanted him next to her. Once she was asleep, it would be OK. She took "sleeping soundly" to the extreme. In college, nothing woke her. Her roommates always pushed her to see just how soundly she slept. If you think sleeping this soundly is improbable, I got this idea from a friend in college. He didn't sleep; he hibernated.
