We had been married for over 10 years, well into the two kids and a dog lifestyle, sex with Bob was probably once a month or so. I didn't even think anyone fancied me anymore, we were in a rut, but things were about to change.
It all started innocently enough at the Company Christmas party when Bob (my husband) introduced me to Martin, an attractive guy in his mid 40's, they work in the same office.
It was odd how from the first few minutes of chatting with Martin I was getting fluttery, there was something in how Martin's eyes met mine. I couldn't remember the last time a man had locked me in his gaze the way Martin was doing.
To break the spell I asked if his wife was with him, I might as well have stood on his toes from the grimace on his face, turns out he had just gone through a rather difficult divorce. I said, "well better luck next time" to which Martin said "there won't be a next time", if I need a wife I'll borrow one!!!" I didn't know what to say or how to take what he meant, thankfully Bob was back from the bar by now with our drinks.
That was all that was said that night, but Martin was unnerving me, but every time I glanced in his direction (and I couldn't help doing that) his eyes were on me, it was so obvious that Bob noticed, innocently he said "well it looks like you made a good impression on Martin," I just smiled.
A couple of weeks later Bob had to attend a conference in Edinburgh, he would be gone for 3 days. I asked if he wanted me to drive him to Manchester airport, he said Martin had offered, saving us having to get someone in to look after the kids, I didn't give it a second thought.
Martin turned up around 5:30, Bob was ready, we kissed and away he went. The flight was for 8pm, it's an hour's drive to the airport, I guess they were there by 7 ish, It was gone 8pm, when I noticed a car pulling into our drive, I went to the door to see Martin carrying a bunch of flowers, Martin said, Bob asked me to get them for you. Little did I know what was going on, looking back I'm sure I was being set up.
I asked Martin if he wanted to come in for a coffee (big mistake) I went to fill a vase for the flowers. I looked in the window over the sink to see Martin watching me, I could feel his eyes on me. We sat at the kitchen table drinking coffee, just chatting, but his eyes were locking me in like a deer in the headlights.
I could have stopped it there and then, but I couldn't, my heart was beating really fast.
I was struggling to put a sentence together I was so nervous I was trembling, Martin must have noticed. The next thing I knew I felt his foot touching my foot, I knew that it wasn't an accident, I could have moved, but I didn't, his foot was by now purposely sliding over my toes, my face was burning with embarrassment.
