When my sister got married, I spent a week in Tampa and got to see some family members whom I had not seen in years. When my sister left for her honeymoon, the rest of the family went home to various cities, but I decided to stay in town for the weekend.
I had lunch on Saturday with an ex-girlfriend, who, without any warning, surprised me by bringing along her husband. We still had a nice time catching up. There were two Hispanic women in the restaurant, and it gave me the idea to find somebody to spend the night with me.
I drove to Ybor City, parked my car and just strolled bar to bar for about an hour. I was ready to give up when I saw a yellow cab parked near my car. It looked like the driver was on a break.
Leaning into the car, I threw all caution to the wind; I was feeling a little desperate.
"Excuse me, man, can you tell me where I can find a girl around here?" I asked.
The question didn't seem to surprise him a bit.
"Most of the girls you might want don't work days; it's too hot. They come out at night or stay in bars; it's easier to find somebody that way," he answered.
"Okay, thanks anyway," I said, and I started to walk away.
"Wait a minute!" He yelled.
I went back to the cab window.
"My cousin, Selena, might go with you. She goes to the University of South Florida and she always needs money for books and shit."
"How old is she and what does she look like?"
"She's 22, and here, I'll show you her photo."
He brought up a photo on his cell phone of a pretty Hispanic girl with dark hair and a beautiful smile.
"How do I know that she really looks like that? The photo looks old," I said.
"Here, lemme face time her and you can see for yourself and talk to her."
He handed me his phone as it was ringing, and when Selena answered, she looked exactly like the photo. I introduced myself, then I told her I was looking for a date for the night.
"What kind of date?" She asked.
"You know, have dinner, some drinks and see what happens. I'm real generous."
There was silence on the line for a minute but I could see the recognition in her face before she answered.
"Tell me exactly what you want," she asked, very confidently.
I turned and stepped away with my back to the cab.
"Nothing dangerous," I said cautiously. "Maybe you could just sit on my face and give me a hand job? Would that be okay?"
Her beautiful smile was encouraging and a relief.
"If that's all you need, you can just treat me to dinner at Ilele, my favorite restaurant, and it's not far from Ybor City."
"Great! How do we get together?"
