She sat, one knee curled comfortably to her chest, her left arm hugging it close, a book propped inches from her face. The book was opened so close to her face, her expression so intent on the plot of the unreadable cracked paper back, he wondered if she needed glasses to read. Distracted from the flurry of shoppers and her book, by a curl springing free of its tucked position behind her ear, she looked up. Her dark lashes flashed, blinking against her green eyes as she turned a page and caught the directness of his stare.
The blue eyes perused her slowly, and she pursed her lips, returning his gaze. She looked down, long enough to tab the yellowed page, and finish the sentence. She knew he'd wait.
Her lips curled into a smile, "Hi Stranger. You look thirsty. Water?" She gestured to the untouched ice filled glass in front of her and he flushed because her stare caught him looking at the gap between her thighs and her skirt, as her fingers reached into the cup and pulled out an ice cube, pushing the glass and water pitcher towards him.
"Thanks." His voice cleared his throat, then quavered as the stolen ice cube found its way down her neck and slowly across her collar bone. The ice, slick with the heat of the un-air conditioned mall, dropped out of her hand and down her shirt as water pooled then dripped at the base of her throat. She squeaked and jumped up, hopping around until either the ice melted, or she stopped caring. He burst into laughter and the tension broke around them as she joined him in giggles, sliding back into her chair.
Took a swig of her mostly melted iced kawfee and announced, "I'm Finn, and you are?" her hand hovered above the table, extended- chipped blue nail polish visible on three of her five fingers.
His palm embraced hers, firm and dry. "Brown. I'm an airport engineer, just moved to Portland last month. Pleasure to meet you ma'am." A small drawl spilled out with "ma'am" and she found herself surprisingly thrilled and her panties felt a little tight suddenly.
Hmm. A man who made ma'am sound sexy. Well done. She glanced around, thinking, even as words began to flow unheeded from her lips, "Well, nice to meet you Brown. What did you go to school for? Are you still in the military, because I have to tell you, when it comes to the military, I've dated a lot of military men and I tend to prefer the military women, depending on my mood..." She shut her mouth, blushing. "What I mean, in my standard, awkward and blunt way is, I think you're cute, can I have your number so I can text you?"
His pen was already out and he reached his hand across the cheap mall table to write his number on her wrist. Transfixed, she watched his hand caress across the numbers after he finished. Then, she pulled out her purple Rumor, and immediately texted him, before looking at his pockets expectantly.
"Sorry Finn, my phone's in the car." As her face fell, he rushed to offer a solution, "But, I can go out and get it. I'll be right back. Don't go no where."
Her text sat... flashing red, and beeping on the passenger seat, awaiting his attention.
May I fuck you and then take you on a date? I tend to be a dyke, but I like to keep my options open and you remind me of a good time.
