I startle, as a bright light suddenly illuminates the bedroom, almost immediately followed by a deafening clap of thunder. As I get up and walk to the window a worried frown crosses my face. Tom is still outside for his run and he hates the rain. Then, suddenly the frown is replaced by a smile as I remember the one time Tom didn't mind getting wet. It happened during our very first vacation together a couple of years ago.

After partying with friends on Ibiza for a few days we wanted to spend a few quiet day on Formentera island, just the two of us. We'd arrived a few hours earlier but were still tired from the previous night's dancing, so we'd decided to enjoy a lazy afternoon at the beach. The sun was shining, we swam in the sea, laughed, chatted, kissed for a bit, but we had to behave ourselves because we were not alone -- even some kids were playing not too far away.
"Fuck, babes, you look so hot in your new bikini," Tom said as his eyes lingered on my ample curves.
"It's a good thing your swimming shorts are not too tight," I teased as I 'accidentally' brushed against him. "Otherwise your erection would be obvious to everyone here, not just to me..."
He responded by kissing me quickly and then jumping into the sea to cool off once more.
It was just great to have time to ourselves, no plans, no diaries, nowhere to be but just right then and there. Eventually we dozed off listening to the waves and the seagulls and enjoying the gentle breeze around us.
"Hanna, wake up!" I suddenly heard Tom say close to my ear, as he shook my shoulders gently. I opened my eyes and saw that we were completely alone at the beach. The reason was obvious: dark and heavy storm clouds covered the sky completely. In the distance we could see flashes of lightning and hear loud thunder rumbling. The gentle breeze from an hour before had turned into strong gusts of wind that nearly knocked over our sunbeds. We quickly tried to put on some clothes and gather our things.
"We'll never make it back to the hotel in time," I muttered, as the first heavy drops of rain started to fall.
Tom looked along the beach, eventually pointing to a picnic area with a gazebo: "It's just a couple hundred meters away -- let's run!"
