Theresa was a rather curious personality. She often kept to herself and her little section of the shopping plaza. Theresa ran a small business where she would sell charms and tell people their fortunes. She was always polite and soft spoken, and she had a small group of regular loyal customers. It also helped that she was quite lovely in and of herself. Her long hair was jet black. She was rather short, standing at only five feet and three inches, but her body was curvaceous and invited a man's eyes to explore the sumptuousness of it.
Her attractiveness was largely what motivated Todd to rent the space to her to start her business. He personally thought fortune telling, crystal healing, and all the like was superstitious and silly. He also didn't think there was enough people who believed in such a thing to sustain a business. Yet, he thought it was worth it to rent the space to her, if only to admire her sensual body when he would come to collect the rent and fix things.
One day, Todd had come to Theresa's shop to do routine maintenance and inspection of the facility. Theresa opened the door and smiled at him. "It is a pleasure to welcome your spirit Mr. Burgh," Theresa said. She bowed slightly in front of him, allowing him to peer down into her lacey pink and red to top to admire her full breasts.
Todd smirked and said, "There is no reason to be so formal Theresa. I'm just here to perform my usual tasks."
She stepped aside and allowed him to enter. Todd looked around and saw various books, decks of Tarot cards, crystals, and vials of essential oils. As he walked around the shop, he noticed a lot of the merchandise seemed to be the same exact things he saw last time, with some shelves even collecting dust. In the corner, there was a large orange tinted gossamer tent, the roof of which reached the ceiling.
"How has business been going Theresa?" he asked with concern.
"Quite well," she said, "I actually have something for you."
She handed him an envelope and he opened it, revealing a massive stack of hundred-dollar bills. Todd felt bewildered. His eyes widened as he looked up at her.
"How much is this?" he asked.
"It is six months of rent paid in advance," Theresa said rubbing her arm, "I thought you'd be happy to have a tenant that is doing so well."
Todd hesitated. "Yes," he said mechanically, "I'm quite happy for you." Todd sensed something was amiss. There seemed to be no realistic way Theresa's store alone made all that money. He began to wonder if something else was being sold here.
Theresa was becoming nervous with the way Todd was acting. She knew she had to distract him from his suspicions of her business activities. "Have you ever had your palm read Todd?" she asked.
"I have not," he replied.
"I would be happy to give you a free reading," she smiled. She walked over to the tent and pulled back the cloth to allow him entry.
