On the way home that night, Charlie said to Krista, "God, that was fun!"

"I loved it!" she enthused.

"I wonder if it would have even happened if Donna had been there with us?"

"Hmm...now that's an interesting thought!" Krista hesitated and then said, "Would you have liked that?"

Charlie smiled, "Probably, but the bigger question is could you two handle it?" They pulled up to the curb in front of her house; Charlie turned to her and said, "What do you think?"

Krista grinned, "Donna and I talk about everything. She's gonna want to know what we did tonight without her; so we'll discuss it."

"THAT will be a fun conversation; wish I could be there!" He got out of the car, helped her out, and walked her to the door. "This was a great 'date' Kris!" They kissed (and it wasn't a smooch either!)

Back in the car he tapped out a text to Mark, "Are you still at Julie's? Call me when you leave there."

In less than a minute his phone rang. "Okay, you left already!"

"I'm already home!"

"Cool, I wanted to bounce something off you, but not in front of Julie."

"Okay, what's that?"

"I thought tonight was scorching hot!"

"Oh my God! So did we; Julie said she'd never been so turned on in her life!"

"Yeah, it was special!"

Mark chuckled, "We've been friends for so long, sometimes it's hard to see each other in this new light!"

"I agree, but that brings up something that crossed my mind tonight. In the middle of it all, I had the thought of you and me switching partners." Mark went silent. Charlie gave him fifteen seconds to process and then he said, "Did I upset you?"

"No, I'm just letting that sink in for a minute. It's probably a natural thought to have seeing as we were watching a porn movie where everyone is fucking everyone!"

"Yeah, I agree with that; but just so you and I keep things straight between us, what do you think about that idea? What I mean is, if swapping was entirely up to you, would you do it?"

"I honestly don't know; I do NOT want to ruin my relationship with Jules."

"That's fair; it's just a fantasy anyway. Oh wait, Krista and I were talking on the way home."

"What about?"

"We wondered if tonight would have even happened if Donna had been there."

"Man, this is getting weirder by the second! It was so much easier when we were thirteen!"

Charlie chuckled, "I think you're right!"

Just as he arrived at school on Monday morning, three cars over Lena Piper was getting out of her vehicle. "Morning Lena!"

"Charlie, Hi! This is great; could you help me carry some things?"

"Be glad to; whatcha' got there?"

"Some science project supplies; the box is kinda heavy."

Charlie picked the box out of the back seat, "So how did your weekend go?"

"It was super fabulous! How was yours?"

"Mine was amazing; if I told you what happened, you might not believe me!"

"Wow...that good, huh?"

He grinned at her, "Yep, that good! Almost as good as your Saturday night, I bet!"

Lena squinched her mouth up at him, "Why am I not surprised that you already know this?"

Charlie laughed, "You joined our little circle of playmates, Lena; isn't it fun sharing these adventures we're having now?"

"I guess it could be; but I'm kinda new at this."

She held the door for Charlie and as they headed toward the stairs he said, "We can't do it right now, but how about I call you tonight and we can share a few details?"

"Uh, maybe we can do that."

The science room was at the top. Charlie put the box on one of the tables and said, "I'll text you around 8:00; how 'bout that?"

"Okay, thanks for the help, Charlie!"

The rest of the morning was routine and when their group met in the cafeteria for lunch, Donna sat down last and put on a pout, "So, the minute my back is turned, right?" Everyone grinned at her; they all knew what she meant!

Julie leaned across the table and said, "Yeah, we were hoping you couldn't make it... so WE could make it without you!" Everyone burst out laughing at the face Donna made!

Charlie asked Krista, "Did you give her a bunch of details?"

"I gave her enough!" The titter was audible, and Krista added, "Enough to make her green with envy!"

That made them all laugh out loud!

Charlie looked at Donna and tried to keep a straight face, "Just so you know, it was ALL Mark's fault!" They all cracked up again!

When things finally settled down, Donna was about to ask something else; but right then two other kids sat down at their table, and the topic was stifled. Krista took the opportunity to fill Donna in on the plan for the Christmas "White Elephant" party.

"That sounds like a fun idea!" Donna said. "Do we have a date for it?"

"Yes, Saturday the 18th." said Jules, "I'm going to modify the invitation template and get them out early."

Mark cracked them all up again by saying, "I'll bring the porn video!" What made it even funnier was the expression on the faces of the other two kids!

Two minutes after the final bell sounded ending class for the day, Charlie's phone pinged with a text. It was Renee Bridges. "Can you meet me in the parking lot?"

"Yes, 5 minutes?"

When he got out there, Renee had found a spot right next to his car. He got in on the passenger side. "Hi, where's Donna?"

"The library, she told me I needed to pick her up at 4:30. I came to see you."

"Is this about your friend?"

"Yes, are you busy right now; can you spare an hour to meet her?"

"Yeah, I could. If you have to pick Donna up at 4:30, it should work."

Renee smiled, "Great, let me text Amani that we're on our way." She put the car in gear and guided it out of the parking lot. ""So did you have any thoughts about this situation, Charlie?"

He chuckled, "Actually, the only thought I have is to go with the flow. My life seems to be just one spontaneous thing after another. Predictability is not a part of the equation."

She gave him a quick glance. "That's certainly true, three weeks ago I would not have wagered even one dollar that we'd be sitting together here today!"

"No kidding! This is like 'Spontaneous-PLUS!'"

They turned onto Old Highway 29 and headed for Rochester. "We'll be there in ten minutes," Renee announced.

Charlie took some time looking at Renee. Even all bundled up against the early winter cold, her face and demeanor were speaking volumes. He broke the silence by saying, "You're really enjoying this, aren't you, Renee!" It was a statement, not a question.

"Oh yes!" she replied, "Things were getting very depressing there for quite a while. Our little encounter was a spark; I can't thank you enough!"

"Why are we doing THIS then?"

She gave a little shrug. "Number one, you made me promise; and number two (as you said before,) I'm having fun thinking up these spontaneous things. When I was talking to Amani last week, it just spontaneously came out of me! Does that make sense?"

"It makes perfect sense!" They sat quietly for another minute; Charlie was debating with his own mind. Two miles from the Rochester exit he said, "Hey Renee? Would you be interested in spending a day together?"

"Really?"

"Yeah, would you like to? I'm 'spontaneously' asking!"

"I would definitely like that!"

"Okay, if you don't mind; here's what I want you to do. I'm gonna knock-off a day of school; you think up an outrageous outside-the-box activity that we could do together. Something spontaneous and surprising! THEN we can find some place to go and and I promise I will fuck you silly! Sound like fun?"

Renee took the Rochester exit and at the stop sign she looked at Charlie. "Where do you come up with these ideas, young man?" She paused, "Because I LOVE this one!"

"I thought you would; you seem to want to break the 'stale' phase you're in."

"That phase got broken when we were together. This next time will be a further acceleration!"

Charlie laughed, "I can't wait to see what you come up with!"

Amani Wilkens lived about two minutes from the highway, and Renee pulled to a stop in front of her house. She said to him, "For now, let's focus on my friend; she's needs to break out of her own phase!"

They were about to knock on the door when someone opened it, "Hi Amani, we made it!

Charlie's eyes flew open almost as wide as the door did! Standing in front of them was a stunning (and impeccably dressed) black woman! She was definitely petite with her hair done in a short, pixie style a la Halle Berry. She couldn't have been more than 115 pounds, yet in her tailored shirt and slacks there didn't appear to be anything wrong with her tits and ass!

"Hi Renee! C'mon in you people, it's cold out there!"

"So Amani, this is the young man I was telling you about, Charlie Green!"

She looked at Charlie without any hint of judgment and said, "Hello Charlie Green! Thanks for letting Renee drag you out here on such short notice!"

He took her outstretched hand and said, "It was no problem at all, Renee speaks very highly of you!"

"She does, does she!"

"Oh yes, I gotta say, if there WAS a problem it would be in her choice of words. She told me you were very pretty; THAT was a humongous understatement!"

Amani looked at Renee and said, "Oooh Renee, you told me he was 'charming,' I think THAT was an understatement!" They all laughed and Amani continued, "Come in and sit down, you two. Can I take your coats?" When Charlie and Renee sat down on the sofa, Amani said, "Charlie, Renee already told me you can't stay that long, but I did make some hot chocolate; want some?"

Charlie chuckled at the other way to take the words "hot chocolate," and then he said, "I would LOVE some!"

She looked at Renee who immediately said, "Me too!"

When she disappeared into the kitchen, he turned to Renee and grinned, "Holy Mary, that's a seriously hot woman too!"

"No doubt about it! She really needs some fun in her life; her husband left her in a bad place."

"That is SO too bad!"

Amani returned with a tray and three cups of steaming hot chocolate complete with mini-marshmallows! They spent the first five minutes on the chit-chats of life and all the stuff that everyone feels obligated to ask about. But finally Renee said, "So Charlie, I shared with Amani some of the details of our encounter over a week ago; and she said she just HAD to meet you!"

Amani giggled, "That's not entirely true, my exact words were 'I wouldn't mind meeting you!' It was she who said 'You just HAVE to meet him!"

Charlie laughed, "You never know what you women are capable of these days!"

Renee giggled at that one, "That's for sure, another thing I said to her was 'girlfriend, you really do need to get laid!'" All three of them burst out laughing again!

When they calmed a bit Charlie asked, "Renee, did you give her ALL the details of our time together?"

Renee knew what he meant, "No, not ALL of them; some things need to remain a surprise!"

"What are you two talking about?" Amani interrupted.

Renee gave Charlie a surreptitious wink,"You'll see!"

Charlie fixed his eyes on the black M.I.L.F. and said, "Let's talk about expectations, Amani; what are you thinking?"

"Seriously I don't have any other than having some fun again! I haven't had sex for over a year, and if it weren't for Renee recommending you, I'm not sure what would have happened this year!" She broke out in her biggest grin yet, "If someone would have told me that the next guy to fuck me was eighteen, I would have told them they were out of their mind!"

He chuckled some more, "You want to talk serious? Two weeks ago the idea of being with someone in their 40's wasn't within light-years of my radar!" He made a motion toward Renee, "She changed my mind!"

They were both looking at Renee now and the brunette said, "Well, since this is all MY idea, I only ask one thing, Amani."

"What's that?"

"After it's over, you and I have lunch and I get a full report!"

"That's a deal; will you be picking up the check?" They all laughed and she continued, "Okay Charlie, want to schedule something? My two girls are with their father this weekend; any chance you can make it?"

"Oh yeah! Saturday's good, if it doesn't matter I would prefer some time in the morning."

"I don't mind that at all; how about nine o'clock?"

"Perfect! And as for me ladies, besides the fact that this is gonna be great, I only ask one other thing."

Renee said, "Which is?"

"I'd like to come to the lunch you're gonna have!"

Once they got back on the highway to Springfield, Charlie said, "That woman is a hottie; it's hard to believe she's not attached."

"Children and responsibilities change everything," said Renee. "For her, opportunities never presented. My situation is totally different as you know, but how fun is this? Look where all three of us are from two or three weeks ago? Who would have ever thought?"

Charlie chuckled and nodded, "Renee, are you going to schedule a day for us?"

She giggled, "You bet your teenage ass!"

"Good, keep in mind I need four or five days notice because I don't wanna skip school on a day when tests are scheduled or something."

"I understand, I'm already thinking maybe the first week of December."

"Cool, text me the date as soon as you have it!"

It was 5:15 when he got home; his parents weren't due for another fifteen minutes. He tapped out a text to Vivian, "Are we all set for tomorrow?"

Two minutes later it came back with a smiley face and an "All Set, here's my address!"

He opened his laptop and checked his email. Two of the three companies had responded to his application. The first was M.S.J. Office Technologies; they were offering part-time paid internships. He had to check off the second one; they wanted someone full-time. He put that one in his file folder marked "After Graduation?"

M.S.J. listed three possible dates for doing an interview. One of them was next week after school on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Charlie confirmed that appointment! Five minutes later he heard his folks come in, and ten minutes after that he went looking for them; they were in the kitchen.

"Hi you guys! Can I talk with you for a minute?"

"Hey, yeah, of course," said his father.

"There's something I want to do, and I hope you'll support it."

His mother said, "Okay, what's this about?"

"The future," he replied. "I've been thinking about second semester, and I realized that there are two ways I can go...not just one. Besides JUCO courses, I actually could find a part-time job in the tech field, and do that instead. I figured that if I tried that for five months until graduation, I could still go to junior college after that."

His mom looked a touch concerned. "Won't you be sending out some applications to four year colleges?"

"I might, but I'm thinking a part-time tech job might lead to full-time after graduation. But even if it doesn't I could still go to junior college and keep working part-time. In two years I could reassess the whole thing."

His dad said, "I can't argue any of that. If you go to university in two years rather than next year; you won't regret it, will you?"

"Not at all!"

His dad turned to mom and said, "What do you think, Honey?"

She shrugged, "It would be hypocritical of us to disagree; our path to where we are was just as different as this is!"

His father said to him, "You have a plan, go for it!"

"Thanks, I love you guys!" Charlie hesitated, "But there's one more thing; I've decided I want to look for an apartment."

Their voices rang out simultaneously, "WHAT?"

"Yeah, I'm thinking of doing it. I'm not saying I'm gonna do it for sure; but I don't want to spring it on you and you didn't know it was coming."

"Why would you want to do that?" asked his mother.

Charlie tried to give her an affectionate smile, "For a number of reasons; and all of them have to do with autonomy! Again, I'm just gonna look around. Nothing is certain."

His father said, "You realize that if you strike out on your own, you'll be on your own, right?"

Charlie grinned at that, "Yeah, I do!"

After dinner that night (and just for fun,) Charlie went online and looked at the rentals that were available in the area. Lo and behold, there were two possibilities that showed up. One was a tiny house with 700 square feet on the west edge of town, and the other was one room over a garage about two miles south. He took down the information for later in the week.

At eight o'clock he texted Lena. "Hi, you free for a chat?" His phone rang less than a minute later.

"Hi Charlie! Just so you know, I took another Calculus quiz today, B+! I am super PUMPED!"

"Oh my God, Lena; I couldn't be happier for you!"

"I have you and Jenna to thank for watching out for me!"

"Did you tell her about the quiz?"

"Yes, she was almost word-for-word what you said!"

Charlie paused, "All you have to do now, Lena, is stay focused and you'll be fine!"

"I promise I'll do that, why slip backward, huh? But anyway, I think you wanted to know how my Saturday night went, right?"

"Yes, tell me!"

"Okay, but let's make a deal; you said you had an unbelievable weekend too; if you promise to tell me about yours, I'll tell you about mine; fair is fair!"

"Right, I promise."

Lena paused as if gathering her thoughts, "Good, well...coming off our fun with you last weekend, Jenna and I put together this sleepover. It was a kinda difficult because her parents and brother were in the house, so we had to keep the noise down."

Charlie laughed, "Difficult? Oh my God, knowing you two, that seems like impossible!"

She giggled but kept going, "When we finally got to her room that night, we decided to have a little fun by taking pictures of each other."

"Huh? What kind of pictures?"

"We were talking and it came out we wished we had taken some of you, me, and her. Then it just developed into taking pics of us."

"Like porn type pictures?" Charlie could almost 'feel' Lena blushing over the phone."

"Jenna did, her phone is password protected, mine isn't. My parents say that if they're paying for my phone, they deserve access."
