A short note to my readers. I do not write "porn", I write stories. This is not wall-to-wall action. It is erotic fiction, and any sex scenes in this are between consenting adults, over the age of 18

Chapter 1

Lily ran up to meet Ethan when he walked through the door. IT was her seventh birthday, and everyone was there before him.

"You're late!" she said to him, angered by his tardiness. Ethan laughed, "I am sorry, little miss. I had to work"

"Work is more important than me?" She huffed, turned on her heel, and strode off back to the party. Ethan laughed, as Ron came to greet him.

"She sure told you!" Ron said.

The two shook hands, and walked toward the other guests. Ethan knew them all, they had been gathering for years now for Lily's birthday and other events.

Ethan watched Lily from across the room, her laughter filling the air with a melody that warmed his heart. Her smile was radiant, lighting up the dimly lit room like a beacon of joy. As he approached her, he couldn't help but notice how much she had grown since the last time they had seen each other. Her once chubby cheeks were now more defined, and her eyes held a spark of curiosity and intelligence that mesmerised him.

Lily came to sit on Ethan's knee, and gifts were given to her. It had become custom that he be her "chair" for moments like this on her birthday and at Christmas. They played together, opened her new toys and Ethan always made sure everything worked. As people often forgot batteries for the toys they bought, Ethan never attended a party for Lily with a supply of various-size batteries.

To Lily, he was the smartest man she knew. He must be, he thought she was the best girl on earth, how could he be dumb?

Lily giggled as Ethan tickled her, her laughter filling the room with pure joy. She looked up at him with adoration in her eyes, seeing him as a hero who always made her feel special and loved. Ethan felt a warmth in his heart, grateful for the bond they shared and the innocence of their relationship.

The aroma of freshly baked cupcakes wafted through the air, mingling with the sound of lively chatter and soft music playing in the background.

Lily leaned against his side, her tiny hand resting on his knee as she chatted animatedly about her new toys. The flickering candles on the birthday cake cast a warm glow over the room, creating a sense of coziness and family that Ethan cherished.

As the evening progressed, Lily snuggled closer to Ethan, her eyes wide with excitement as she recounted stories from school and giggled at her own jokes. Her innocence and pure joy were like a balm to Ethan's soul, reminding him of the importance of unconditional love.

As the night wore on, Lily's energy began to wane, her eyelids drooping with fatigue. Ethan gently lifted her into his arms, feeling the light weight of her body against him. He carried her to her bedroom, tucking her in with care and tenderness.

Ethan gazed at Lily's sleeping form, her innocent face peaceful in slumber. A soft sigh escaped his lips as he brushed a stray lock of hair away from her forehead, his touch gentle and tender. In the dim light of the room, he felt a deep-rooted sense of protectiveness that bound him to her.

Ethan stood there for a moment, gazing at Lily's peaceful form as she slept soundly in her bed. The soft glow of the nightlight cast gentle shadows across the room, illuminating her features in a way that made his heart ache with tenderness.

Ethan had no children and rarely kept a girlfriend for more than a few months, but Lily was a special little kid, and he loved her as if she were his own.

He left her there in peace, and walked back to the waning party. It had been along day, and he had a 2 hour drive to get home, so he walked up to Ron and Grace, Lily's parents, and said "I just put her to bed. She was wrecked. You can deal with bath time tomorrow" smiling.

They thanked him, and he made his farewells to all, walking to his car, and beginning the drive home.

Ethan drove through the winding roads of the night, the soft hum of the car engine providing a soothing background noise as he navigated his way home. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a silvery glow over the landscape, illuminating the familiar sights that passed by his window like fleeting memories. Thoughts of Lily lingered in his mind, her laughter and innocence still echoing in his heart. He was certain that one day she would get over him, he would not be her "best friend" forever, but he loved the attention he got from her at this early age, and was content with that.

Chapter 2

Ethan was the first to arrive, and was ushed to the pre-booked table by a waitress. His girlfriend, Sarah walked with him. Sarah was pretty, not stunning, but Ethan had been with her for 9 months now, almost a record for him.

It was not long before Ron, Grace and Lily turned up. Lily ran to greet him, leaving her parents at the door. She grabbed him and hugged him as he sat in his chair.

"13 now!" he said, as she released him.

"I am getting old," she said, laughing.

"You are! Your dad will have you married off and working before you know it"

Ron and Grace arrived at the table, and greeted Ethan. Lily turned to them and said "She is here again" indicating Sarah.

Ron chastised her, "Lily, you apologise. Sarah is more than welcome here. She is with Ethan, and Ethan can bring whoever he wants to our family gatherings" Lily looked toward Sarah and said "I'm sorry." then turned and sat on the other side of Ethan, pushing her chair a little closer.

Ethan turned to Sarah, and added "Sorry Sarah, I think Lily gets a little jealous of any time I spend with someone other than her on her birthday"

Sarah smiled, she had felt the same hostility from Lily when they first met, so it was no surprise. She had seen the dynamic between Ethan and her, and understood Sarah's little girl crush on her boyfriend.

The night went smoothly, even Lily seemed to find a better attitude, until the end.

Ron said, "You guys staying over?"

"We are staying in town, but didn't want to impose, so we got a room at a motel."

Lily stared at him, then Sarah. She turned to Grace and said "I know what they are going to do and they don't want us to hear them!"

"Lilly!" Grace said. "That is way out of line"

Lily just turned her head toward Ethan, and said "Well, you are, aren't you?"

Ethan had noticed Lily getting a little obnoxious the last time he had been here, at Christmas when he introduced Sarah to them, and saw it again here. He said "Lily, I don't know what is going to happen when we leave here. Perhaps we will, maybe we will go to sleep, but neither is your concern darling. You will always be my best friend, but I am allowed to have other friends too, friends of differing natures. That is life, but I will always be here for you. The friendship we have is special Lily, and it will always be, but I don't stop you from having friends, do I?"

Lily looked at him, put her head down, and apologised. "I don't want to lose you," she said

He leaned over, and ruffled her hair, "You never will Lily, I've always been here, I always will be"

Ethan turned to Sarah apologetically, who was quietly observing the interplay between him and Lily. He took her hand and smiled. "Are you ok?" he asked, sincerely. "I don't want you feeling uncomfortable."

Sarah squeezed his hand and smiled back. "I'm fine, really. I can see how special Lily is to you. It's sweet, actually."

They had always been grateful for Ethan's presence in their lives, and his relationship with Lily, but Lily was acting in a way she had never done before.

Ron and Grace shared a look between them, feeling relieved as Lily settled down once more. The dining room emptied out slowly, and the waitstaff began to clean up around them. Sarah and Ethan exchanged glances, sensing the slight tension in the air but also the genuine affection between him and Lily.

Over the next couple of weeks, Sarah noticed that Ethan spoke to Lily more frequently than usual when they were together. She would call him and it seemed as though their bond was becoming stronger, and Sarah couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.

Ethan told he she was silly, that Lily was only calling him to chat because she got a new phone for her birthday and had only a few friends with phones.

Lily called him to talk about boys, to tell him about the new boy at the school who was interested in her. They talked about clothes and makeup, which of course Ethan had no idea about, but he listened. As time went on, Lily spoke about their plans fir Ethan to catch up with them for summer at the beach. He felt it was all pretty normal, nothing strange at all, but Sarah began to detach from him.

They would sit in silence during dinner, and there was no passion or chemistry between them, just polite conversation. "Lily is getting between us Ethan, and I know it sounds irrational, and I know it makes me seem like some crazy woman, but I feel like she is doing everything she can to break us up. "

Sarah said, her voice trembling slightly.

Ethan looked at her, still trying to process everything that happened since the birthday dinner. He had never seen Lily behave in such a manner towards him before. Although they had grown closer over the years, he never believed that it was any more than a close friendship.

He shook his head, "Lily and I have a bond, one that has been cultivated over the years. It's a bond between a godfather and his goddaughter. Nothing more, nothing less. "

Sarah sighed, looking toward the TV and saying no more.

It was only a few weeks later, just short of their first year anniversary, that Sarah told Ethan she was leaving.

"Leaving?" he was perplexed. "Why?"

"Lily" was all she said.

"What are you talking about?" Ethan had had enough of this talk.

"You talk to her more than you talk to me!"

"She is a kid!" he exclaimed

"She doesn't think so. And you are being hoodwinked, but I am not staying to watch anymore. Tomorrow, I will be gone"

The silence was thick, and Ethan struggled to find words to say, standing frozen in shock. He felt a wave of pointless anger wash over him, but he knew there was nothing he could do to change anything at this point. He looked at Sarah, who was now regretfully staring back at him, and thought to himself that he should have tried harder to communicate with her.

"I'm sorry, Sarah. I didn't realize it was like this. I'll talk to Lily and set some boundaries. I never meant for this to happen."

But his apology fell on deaf ears as Sarah was already packing her bags and preparing to leave the apartment. Ethan stood there in shock, unsure of how things had spiralled out of control so quickly.

Days turned into weeks, and Ethan found himself struggling to get back into his usual routine. He couldn't stop thinking about Sarah and what he could have done differently. He was sad she was gone, but was he sad she was no longer there? It was a strange question, but he had begun to dislike the way she challenged his relationship with Lily. Lily, as strange as it may sound to others, was as important to him as if she were his own daughter. He would not let any woman come between them.

As the days went by, Ethan's thoughts returned to his once tight-knit group of friends, and the close bond he shared with Lily. The pain of losing Sarah had faded, but he was left with a lingering sense of unease. He couldn't shake the feeling that perhaps Sarah had been right. Lily was calling a lot, and talking for longer. He did need to cut back, for her sake. She needed to spend more time with her friends, and develop relationships with er own age group.

Ethan picked up the phone and dialled Ron's number, hoping to get some insight into what was happening with his daughter. After exchanging pleasantries, Ethan dove straight into the point of his call.

"Hey, Ron," he began. "Is everything okay with Lily? She has been calling a lot lately. She sounds okay, but it is, like, almost every day now"

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and then Ron replied cautiously, "We've noticed it too. She's been distant, cold even. I don't know what's gotten into her. Has she said anything to you?"

Ethan mulled over the question, trying to recall whether she had said anything that might be a red flag, but came up empty. Finally, he admitted, "I can't remember anything out of the ordinary. Do you think it is a boy."

Ron sighed, "Lily's been behaving oddly towards everyone, not just you, Ethan. Maybe she's going through some kind of adolescent rebellion phase. Or perhaps there's something else going on that she isn't ready to share with us yet."

Ethan couldn't help but feel a pang of worry. "Tell me if anything else comes up, okay?"

"Will do. Thanks." Ron ended the call.

When Lilly called the next day, Ethan spoke to her about he life as best he could, asking her if there was anything she wanted to talk about"

She said no, but he persisted

"Is it a boy Lily?"

"A boy?" she asked.

"Is there something going on between you and a boy? Is that why you are a little different when we talk?"

She hesitated, before saying "Well, yeah, there is one boy, I guess"

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really," she said. "He isn't interested in me. He is a bit older and thinks I am a kid. But he doesn't know I am not a kid anymore, but I can't convince him"

"Then he is a fool, he would be lucky to have you" he said to her.

"Thanks. I hope he sees it one day"

"I'm sure he will"

"It's just that, he is dating someone else, and I think they are pretty serious, and it hurts."

"I get it kid, it sure can hurt. But just wait it out, they may not last, and you may get a shot at him after all"

She giggled. "Thanks Ethan, I hope so"

She ended the call.

Weeks passed, and Ethan's thoughts of Sarah grew faint and infrequent. He went back to his daily routines. The calls between he and Lily were still frequent. Lily would tell him about her world, and he would talk about his, though never about Sarah. He didn't even tell Ron he had split up with her, not yet. Even though he didn't have to tell them the reason for the split up, it felt a little wrong to him.

Sarah had made accusations against Lily, and he didn't want to think about it or discuss it with Ron or Grace, so he just let the topic stagnate.

Chapter 3

Three years had passed, and the disappearance of Sarah had been noted by all, but very little was said about it. Ethan had been there for all major events in Lil's life, her first boyfriend, her school events, and summer beach holidays where it became most apparent she was growing into a young woman, and the whole while, nothing had changed in their relationship. Lily was ecstatic when she learned Sarah was out of the picture, and Ethan had never mentioned any of his other girlfriends in the interim, none were what he would call "family-friendly"

The Christmas Lily was 16 they went to the beach, as they had done most years, and spent a week frolicking in the waves and on the sand. Ron, Grace, Lily and Ethan. They were inseparable, always together. When Christmas morning arrived, Lily came in early to wake him hup. She said "Mum and dad are outside on the porch, come on, it's Christmas morning. Get up lazy" she had yelled at him before running out to her parents.

Ethan got up, went to the bathroom and quickly changed from his pyjamas, which he never wore at home, into some shorts and a T-Shirt, before heading outside to the family.

As they sat drinking coffee on the porch Lily began gathering presents. They had all been inside under the tree, but it was much cooler out here, so this year, she was playing Santa.

She handed out gifts to everyone, based on the labels attached, before sitting on Ethan's knew as had been the custom for as long as she could remember.

Ron said, "Lily, perhaps you are getting a bit big to sit on poor Ethan now"

"He doesn't mind, do you?" She asked, turning to face him.

Her face was stunning, she was really maturing into a beautiful young woman, and he was surprised she still wanted to be around him and her parents, she could have any boy she wanted. Her body was no longer than of a child, she had been developing noticably for the past 4 years. She was small but well-developed. Ethan was certain there would be a line of testosterone-fuelled boys at her school, or even here at the beach, who were lining up to be with her. But she was content with her family, and he guessed in that was a good thing.

He replied, "You are not too heavy yet" and she wiggled back a little further, getting comfortable, and stayed where she was.

Ethan almost immediately knew he had made the wrong decision. As she slid backward getting comfortable in her satin pyjamas, he felt himself 'waking up'. A combination of no girlfriend for a few months, morning, and a beautiful girl in his lap. Girl, is the operative word.

He thought it had gone unnoticed until Lily added "I think Ethan is happy for me to sit here"

He was gobsmacked. Had she felt him? Did she know she did that to him?

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, moving himself a little away from her, but she adjusted herself to follow him.

No one else noticed, and Grace and Ron handed their presents to Lily as she sat in her customary gift-receiving seat. Ethan was desperately regretting not putting underwear on this morning before coming out here, perhaps that might have made it less obvious to Lily, who he was certain was playing it up.

As well as the loose-leg satin pyjama shorts, she was wearing a matching camisole which from Ethan's vantage point, afforded him a view of the small pert breasts at times when she moved. This was NOT what should be happening here, but how would he tell Ron or Grace? How could he ask her to move? The moment she moved it would all become obvious to everyone. He had to find a way to keep his erection hidden.

Lily, with a mischievous smile on her face, continued to fidget, completely aware of what was going on. Ethan felt a rush of conflicting emotions: surprise, discomfort, and something that he couldn't quite put his finger on. The situation was so unexpected and bizarre that he found himself at a loss for words.

As his mind raced, searching for a solution, the phone rang. Lily sprang up from his lap to answer it, and Ethan couldn't help but think of this timing as a fortunate coincidence. He grabbed one of the gifts he had been given, and put it in his lap, using it as a cover for the erection he needed to hide.

The phone call was brief, and Lily returned to the porch, saying "It was Uncle Mark. They said they would be here soon" Grace stood immediately, and said "Come on Ron, help me get some breakfast ready. We have the bacon and eggs to get cooked before they get here.

They both left, leaving Ethan alone with Lily. She walked up, kissed Ethan on the cheek, and said, I think we both enjoyed Christmas gifts a little more this year, don't you?" she then, giggling, ran off inside to get dressed.

Ethan sat a little while longer, waiting for the blood to normalise in his body, rather than all being in his erection!

He was finally able to get up and rush to his room, where he had a cold shower, and dressed once more, this time remembering his underwear. His thoughts were all over the place.

What was Lily thinking, doing that to him?

And why in front of her parents?

What was he going to do with her for the next week?

He was trapped and didn't know how to handle this. It was most unexpected.

Lily's behaviour was becoming increasingly bold, and Ethan felt a strange mix of excitement and discomfort. He had always seen her as a little girl, but now, she was turning into a beautiful young woman, and it was making him feel things he never thought he would.
