This story is a spin off of my original story/series (Love Comes Second). It is not in the same genre of stories, but they are related so there may be some places/scenes where the genres overlap. This series will be from the perspectives of the two servants, Luke and Mary.
I recommend that you read my first two chapters before this one.

Chapter III
Mary
The next morning I wake up and quickly walk to Princess Jade's room. I see that she's still sleeping so I climb into bed next to her. I'm glad I won't have to explain why she fell asleep with me next to her but woke up without me. It only takes her a few more minutes to wake up.
"Good morning, my dear friend," she says groggily.
"Good morning, Princess Jade," I reply with a smile.
"How was your sleep?"
"It was wonderful," I laugh to myself, "How was your sleep?"
"It was alright. I'm going to be married in just over a week... isn't that crazy?" she says, a huge smile spreading across her face.
"It is quite crazy indeed. We won't be able to sleep next to each other and have late night talks anymore though... I'll miss that," I reply.
"I'll miss that too, Mary. I'm sure you'll find someone to replace me for those nights though," she says.
"It'll never be the same," I smile.
Princess Jade gets up to get dressed and I happily assist her in doing so. She's my best friend, I really hope Prince Douglas intends on treat her well.
A few more days go by with just long sideways glances from Luke, and I start to wonder if he's still as interested in me as he was that night we spent in my room. I hope I didn't scare him away by not wanting to have sex yet...
I'm down in the stable areas when Luke comes up to me again. I was hoping he'd find me here again.
"Hi, Mary. You're here late again. Couldn't sleep?" he asks, hugging me from behind.
"Yeah, I have trouble sleeping sometimes. Especially when something's troubling me," I reply.
"I'll take the bait. What's troubling you, my dear?" he asks, turning my body around to face his.
"Ever since that night I said I didn't want to have sex yet, you haven't been making an effort to talk with me. I was hoping it's not because I wasn't ready," I respond.
"No! I wanted to talk to you but it's been pretty busy around here. The only times I'm not busy are at night," he replies.
"Well I'm glad it's not me then," I smile up at him.
He stares into my eyes for a few moments before asking, "Could I kiss you again?" in the most seductive voice I've ever heard.
"Yes, please," I agree happily. He leans down to plant a soft kiss on my lips, but that isn't enough for me. I have a sudden hunger for him... all of him.
I reach my hands up to cup his face and I pull him closer to me. I deepen our kiss by opening my mouth slightly and pushing my body against his.
"Woah, Mary. Be careful now. If you start getting more aggressive I might not be able to control myself," he warns.
"Maybe that's exactly what I want, Luke," I reply with a mischievous smile.
"Well in that case, how about we go somewhere a little more private," he suggests.
"My room?"
"Sounds like a plan," he smirks and pulls me urgently towards my room.
"Come in, before anyone sees," I ushers him inside and shut the door.
"Are you embarrassed to be seen with me?" he asks jokingly.
"No, it's definitely not that. I just don't want anyone to know we're together and interrupt us."
"Well then, I can get behind that reasoning," he closes the small gap between us and pushes me up against my door. He touches his hand to my cheek and kisses me softly, but passionately.
"Luke, I've wanted to feel you since I first met you. I know we've only just met a month ago and have barely talked, but I feel like I've known you for ages," I say, looking deep into his beautiful eyes.
"I know what you mean, I have never felt a connection like this before," he replies, moving back in to kiss me. He runs his hands through my hair and pulls lightly, making me moan.
