While Breanne and Jenny finished up their appointment at the doctor's office, across town, their friend Andrea Raven was preparing for tomorrow, the day she became eligible for "Project Serenity." Andrea has been a friend of the sisters for a few years now, getting to know them through the school tennis team, but she also was a rising star on the soccer team, being one of the only girls in the conference who was left-handed, or in this case left-footed. This made her a true weapon on the team, playing left forward.
Andrea stood 5 feet 6 inches tall. She had jet black hair, a naturally dark tan body, with a lovely pair of 36Bs. Her mother's family was from Chile; her father's family was from Greece. The combination of the two was the perfect combination to bring her into this world. There was an innocence to her voice, a little stand-offish at times, but she hung close to the friends that she made. She lived with her parents, Nikos and Cristina, as well as her other brother, Felipe. The family was fairly close; they did a lot together, including attending church every Sunday. They were strong Christians and believed in the Lord. They believed in helping thy neighbor whenever possible and doing whatever they could to help those less fortunate.
That being said, when they heard about "Project Serenity," they knew their beliefs were going to be tested. Andrea had always imagined that she would save herself for marriage, giving herself completely to her future husband, having it all play out like a fairytale. But that all was about to change with the day of her eligibility coming up tomorrow. She and her parents have had many long conversations about how to handle certain situations, going into it with her best foot forward, being a trooper, and knowing that she isn't alone in this. She had seen how things escalated quickly with Breanne and Jenny. She was worried about what could happen but also knew she had close friends she could talk to when she needed the support.
Balancing both soccer and tennis while being a full-time student was definitely a challenge for Andrea, but she was a determined individual with college right around the corner. She knew she couldn't let up now that she was so close. The next morning Andrea had her entire profile set up; she had gone through all of the steps, filled out all of the information needed, and even added a little extra about Christianity and being religious, hoping that would help others understand where she was coming from. She came down the hallway from her room dressed in soccer gear as her team had a game today. Her mother had cooked up some eggs and bacon for the family for breakfast. Her brother and father were already at the table, her father reading the newspaper, her brother eating his breakfast.
"Ready for your game today, Andrea?" Her mother asked as she flipped the bacon.
"Ready as I can be. I just got a text in the team chat saying that two of the girls won't be able to make it, so we will have to cover for them." Andrea said as she sat down at the table, leaning over to adjust her shinguards.
"More callouts? Have you had a full team for any game yet this year?" Her father asked from behind his paper.
"Just the first game. Luckily, we have some team members that are reliable." Andrea replied.
Her mother brought over a plate, and Andrea began to eat. Her mother turned back towards the kitchen to begin cleaning up. She was worried for her daughter as today was the day she became eligible for the program, but she wanted to keep her spirits up and her mind focused on soccer. She knew Andrea would have plenty of time to worry about the app.
"Well, best of luck today. I know you'll do great." Her mother said.
"Thanks," Andrea said as she scarfed her food.
Once she was done, she brought her plate to the kitchen, hugged her mom, and said, "I have to get going. A few of the girls want to get together this morning and run some drills before the game this afternoon. I'll see you guys there!"
"Best of luck. Go get 'em," her mom said.
Andrea made her way to the front entryway, slipped on a pair of slip-on shoes, grabbed the rest of her things, and headed out the door. She made her way to the driveway where her 1990 Saab 9000 was parked. It was straight grey and needed a lot of work, but it got her from point A to point B. She threw her things into the back seat before climbing into the driver's seat and heading off toward the field.
On her way to the field, Andrea really got her head into the zone. She put on her favorite pump-up music, letting the windows roll down slightly, blowing her dark hair in her ponytail as she took the back roads, really letting the good vibes sink in. Her mind was completely on the game, thinking about what they had been practicing all week, knowing that it was going to be a tough game but feeling ready for the challenge. She was in the perfect headspace for bringing home a victo.....
Just then, her phone began to buzz. It was a notification tone that she had not heard before. She took a minute to find a spot on the shoulder of the country road to pull over. Andrea was raised to follow the rules, and texting and driving was definitely against the rules. She pulled into a gravel area and came to a complete stop before reaching for her phone.
"Congratulations, Andrea! You have received your first request in Project Sorinity!"
Andrea had to do a double take as she was so in the zone, she had completely forgotten about this being her first day on the app.
"Below is the information about your requester. Please take a look and verify that you have received this request." Andrea scrolled down a bit to see more information.
Name: Dallas Langley
Age: 36
Ethnicity: Caucasian
When: As soon as possible
Requested location: Approximate location when verified
Andrea continued to look through the app, pulling up Dallas's profile, seeing what sort of things she could figure out before verifying. She bit her lip slightly, feeling a bit nervous, a bit bummed that she would be late to warm up, but she had a few hours before the actual game started. So she tried to keep her head up. Once she was completely done looking through what she could find, she hesitantly clicked the "Verify" button at the bottom.
"Thank you for verifying! Your requester will be with you shortly! ETA 15 minutes"
Andrea turned off her car and stepped out, taking a stretch to try and calm her nerves as she slowly walked around her car, pacing for a few minutes, before leaning on the back of her car, waiting for 'Dallas' to arrive. While she waited, her mind switched from soccer to Dallas and the entire Project Sorinity program. She had no idea what to expect, what Dallas was going to be like, or what they were going to do. A million scenarios ran through her mind, everything from the simplest of simple to the dirtiest of dirty.
Time seemed to crawl as Andrea waited. A car or two drove by, one stopping to see if she needed help with her car. She politely smiled and moved them along. Her heart raced a bit more with every passing car.
Finally, a large Black pickup truck pulled up behind her vehicle. The tires ground to a halt as a bit of dust hit the air. Andrea stood, pulling herself off of her car, standing in front of the truck, waiting for 'Dallas' to show himself. She felt a bit odd standing by the side of the road meeting a complete stranger, but she knew that if this is what God had planned, she would be alright.
