They had been friends for quite a while. Having met at a party neither really planned to attend, their friends found it interesting how well the two had bonded. Their spouses, however, did not find the time the two shared to be that appealing. Given how close they became and the level of comfort each had with each other, moving from friends who told each other everything to a more intimate relationship surprised only the two of them.
Andy was the older of the two. A well respected leader and public figure in town, he was an average guy who led, for the most part, an average life. He was married, had two kids, and lived in the suburbs with the requisite dog, cat, and two car garage. Andy's bisexuality was known to his wife and a few very close friends. He did not advertise it, and he had not really acted upon it before. He knew, however, that he was attracted to other guys, especially younger guys like Al.
Al also lived a fairly average life. He had recently married and found himself between jobs when he and Andy first met. He was openly bisexual and had the boyish good looks and youthful build that Andy found himself attracted to. With the benefit of youth, Al was muscular and slender. He had a boyish face that ensured he would be carded every time he ordered alcohol, but his youthful looks masked his intellect and understanding of the intricacies of life.
At the party, Andy was at first captivated by Al's demeanor and boyish charm. The two barely spoke to each other, but both wanted to get to know each other better. They exchanged numbers and conversed for a while before becoming what everyone considered to be best friends. As the months passed, Al discovered Andy's bisexuality and his desire to explore his limits in a relationship with another man. Over time, Al decided to give Andy an opportunity to act on his desires.
The two often rode around with each other. One afternoon, Al drove to an area not far from the city and along a long winding dirt road. It was late spring. The afternoons were warm amd the evenings still got a bit chilly. As the sun began to set, Al stopped the car in the middle of the road, took the keys, and began walking down the road.
Andy was, at first, puzzled. Then, worried something must be wrong, he got out and caught up to Al. He knew Al and Al's wife were having problems, and he expected that when he asked what was wrong, Al would talk about his marital issues, something the two of them had done countless times before. The answer he got, however, was both shocking and exhilarating at the same time.
Al put the keys to the car in his blue jeans pocket. He told Andy that he would have to accept his bisexuality before the two would return home. Confused, Andy told Al that he had acknowledged his bisexuality already. Al said "acknowledging it and acting on it are two different things, and the only way we are leaving here is for you to prove you are truly bisexual to me."
Andy knew he was attracted to Al. Al's boyish face, his contagious smile, and his toned muscles all appealed to Andy's desire to be intimate with another man. Because their friendship was so strong, however, Andy had long accepted that Al would always be the proverbial forbidden fruit. Rather than risk being a fool and freaking Al out by admitting he had a desire to be intimate with him, Andy went about each day as the ever present and ever willing friend.
