The hero of today's tale is a strange fellow, folks. Rupert Whyte is a six-foot-tall, silver-haired and blue-eyed, forty-something white guy living in the City of Detroit, Michigan. He likes to post about his workplace woes and how he sometimes comes into conflicts with certain people. Folks who live in America but come from other parts of the world. This isn't a good look for Rupert, not in these liberal and diverse times. A lot of people think that Rupert Whyte doesn't like the growing diversity and multiculturalism that is happening in American culture. Rupert needs to change his mind and adjust to his new reality, for real.
America is changing really fast and not everyone can keep up with it. The big cities have their own unique dynamics due to the diversity and culture. Not everyone can keep up with that. Rupert even went to the City of Montreal, Quebec, for a bit to get away from America and saw even more diversity in La Belle province than he could have ever imagined. Rupert has decided to see a therapist, Dr. Jayson Black, to help him with his issues. The world is changing around Rupert and he is trying to make sense of things, folks. Is that so wrong? The man is trying to adapt. He is doing the best he can. He doesn't mean any harm.
To put it simply, Rupert thinks that society is leaving him behind and that he is no longer valued. Rupert has worked for the Hydromel Corporation since 2014 and has never risen past the position of plant manager. The corporation has plants in Detroit, Racine, Lansing and other parts of Michigan. To make matters worse, a young black man named Tyrone Woodsman, whom Rupert personally trained, has risen to the rank of regional manager of the Hydromel Corporation. So what if Tyrone Woodsman has an MBA and Rupert only has a bachelors degree from Northern Michigan University? It just wasn't fair!
Rupert's decision to see therapist Dr. Jayson Black wasn't exactly a choice. Rupert got into an argument with Tyrone Woodsman in the company parking lot. Co-workers walking by saw the whole thing. Rupert was told that in order to keep his job, he had to attend one hundred hours of therapy, and apologize to Tyrone Woodsman, and also stay the hell away from him. The Judge who presided over the case, Judge Mariza Landon, was a black woman. Rupert went to the court mandated therapy sessions because he had no choice. He just hoped that Dr. Jayson Black was good...
