CHAPTER 3: NEW DAWN-MOVING ON

As sunlight beamed through the curtains, Ted awoke and oriented himself in his new surroundings. He spotted the bathroom just off the left side of the bed and made a beeline for it. As he filled the bowl with golden nectar, he heard Mario call out from another part of the house "Come on out to the kitchen and have some breakfast".

He felt very comfortable here in Mario's home. Odd since he had only first arrived there less than 12 hours ago! His host was as charming as he was in the bar and motioned for Ted to sit at the table on which he laid out a big manly breakfast. Eggs, Sausage, Home Fries, Pancakes and Coffee of course(Black-just how Ted likes it. How did he know?) Ted was truly charmed-first great sex and now being fed a meal for a king without even having to ask. Aware that he had quite a lot to drink prior, he awkwardly told Mario what he recalled of their sexual activities.

Everything he recalled was indeed what happened. Mario offered "You sure seemed to enjoy everything we did! Even when I fucked your ass." Ted pondered for a second and admitted that it was the most passionate sexual experience of his life. He likened it to a reawakening of sorts.

"So I guess I am gay now, huh?" Ted asked, half joking. Mario just smiled knowingly.

When Ted began to ask about the Priest, Mario quickly asked if Ted wanted seconds of anything. Ted was still hesitant to divulge any details of his experience in the church but he did reach up to his neck and sure enough, felt the bite mark. Mario made a joke about him having a hickey then asked what Ted was going to do about his wife and son?

"Oh Shit! What am I going to tell the bitch?" He figured texting her would be easier so he sent a short one saying how he stayed the night with a friend and would be home later. The thought of going back to her repulsed him! He'd had enough before he left the house and now, he knew things had to change.

He felt Mario was a good sounding board and expressed his feelings once again only this time he was sober. He had 2 big questions for his host: Could he continue to see him as a friend and lover? AND Should he divorce his wife? The quick response was yes to both of course. Ted had been thinking about divorce for months and a visit to his lawyer was the first stop on his way home.

Both men showered and dressed and prepared to head back to the bar so Ted could pick up his car. Before they went outside, Mario grabbed Ted and gave him a big bear hug and the 2 lovers kissed passionately. He also gave Ted a bottle of his home-made wine. Ted wasn't much of a wine drinker but he graciously accepted the gift and asked if he could come back tonight.

Mario smiled and said that he was hosting a party at 8 and Ted was more than welcome to join in the festivities. Horny fuck that he is, Ted asked if it was an orgy. Mario replied

"Not quite but there will only be men there and, yes, there will be sex". Ted beamed as they headed out the door and said he would be there.

When he got home, he found Kathy getting ready to visit her Mother. He handed her the divorce papers, explaining what was in the envelope. She was surprisingly calm as if she too had realized it was time for the couple to go their own ways. She quickly left leaving Ted alone in the house, soon to be HIS house.

His thoughts turned to their son, Teddy and he dialed his number. He wanted his boy to hear the news from him first. Teddy was on the road already, heading home for the summer and announced that he had news as well but insisted they talk face to face. The senior Ted agreed and relaxed while awaiting his son's arrival. He quickly fell asleep in the recliner so was startled by the front door opening a short time later.

Father and son lovingly hugged each other and sat down to have their talk. Neither man could have imagined what the other was about to say...

The McGuiness men began their heart to heart talk with Ted Sr going first. He began by announcing he was divorcing Teddy's Mother due to the volatile nature of their relationship, saying how it had never been a loving union. Jr admitted that he had heard plenty of their arguments and had actually wondered for years why they stayed together.

Then Ted dropped the bombshell: He was gay! He didn't go into graphic sexual detail but said he met a great guy and that they were in love.

He gushed a bit about how good his new love made him feel and Teddy could hear the unusual excitement in his Dad's voice. As he wiped the sweat from his brow, Ted Sr asked Teddy if he was ok with all of this.

The son smiled and said he was and thanked his Father for going first as it made his news much easier to discuss. Teddy had been dating Leah for almost 2 years and were engaged but...the engagement was off AND Teddy confided that he had a sexual encounter with a professor at the University-completely consensual- and enjoyed it way more than he thought. He broke up with Leah and had been in a relationship with his teacher now for 3 months.

Ted Sr. mistakenly thought his son had bedded an older woman and started to congratulate him but he was cut short. Teddy corrected his Dad, saying that the Professor was an older man and he had quickly realized that he could no longer continue on a heterosexual path.

The silence was deafening for a few seconds as each man took in the information. Ted told his son that he loved him and was in no position to be critical-just that he wanted his son to be happy. Teddy sighed in relief and reiterated his Dad's sentiments.

The 2 men hugged and cried tears of joy. Their already close bond was even closer now that they had their sexuality in common. Ted mentioned that he was going to see his man this evening and offered to bring Teddy to meet him but his son declined.

He was exhausted, had to unpack and get in touch with local friends but said he DID want to meet his "Step Dad".

The mood at the McGuiness home was full of joy as the 2 men enjoyed a quick dinner together before each went out for the evening. Ted Sr. advised that he would likely be out for the night. Junior smiled and said to have fun. The McGuiness men hugged once more and suddenly Ted Sr. kissed his son on the lips, slipping his tongue in quickly before catching himself. Blushing, he said an awkward,

"Oops! Sorry!!"

"Don't worry about it Dad. I love you!" came his son's reply.

With an "I Love You Too!" Ted was off.
