Bud was building his own vacation rental property, Well, a campground, really with multiple spots for guests. He had the land, and he had the resources, what he didn't have was a gay friendly place for his friends to vacation. He decided to build one himself. And while he was pretty handy, there were things that he just couldn't do on his own, so he recruited his friends to help. Each of them brought different skills to the construction process and he was very lucky, in that way, that he had friends in the trades. Bud is a part-time carpenter, and a general handy man but he couldn't do it all himself. For the plumbing and electrical, he'd call on his friends who worked in those fields, he wanted it safe, and he wanted it done right. He was sure he could do it, and if it was just his home he'd likely do it himself, but as this would be a public space, he wanted to make sure it was completely safe.
The first project he tackled was the main office and admin building. It had two offices and a reception desk, a bathroom and small section for selling supplies. He handled most of the work on the framing himself but recruited his friend Jason, for the plumbing and Allen for the electrical. It took him a few weeks as this was a side project, working mostly evenings and weekends. He was happy with the result. He decided he'd build six small bunkies, and prep a dozen more campsites, each having electric and water service. Again, he relied on Allen for the electrical work and Jason for a lot of the plumbing. For a few weeks his land featured a series of trenches crisscrossing the fields. Not much else needed to be done for the camp sites, except clear scrub and ensure a flat space for tents and a fire pit, but the bunkies needed more work and he decided to split his time between those and the public facilities. He wanted a large building for gatherings and another for the public showers and toilets. He decided to start the work on the shower room building, at least six private shower stalls and 4 toilets, maybe more than he'd need but he could always expand the number of campsites and this way he'd be ready.
To help, he called up Jason, the plumber, a bear of a man, big and burly with a little belly, his whole body covered in a dense brown fur. He, definitely, looked like a bear. After getting the call from Bud, Jason dropped by the site to discuss what was needed/wanted. Already familiar with some of the work needed from laying out the campgrounds and bunkies, he was prepared for the level of work.
Bud walked him through the plan, the shower room would have the six single stalls. At Jason's suggestion he added a larger communal stall with 4 shower heads for a total of 10 shower spaces, they'd need sinks and toilet stalls and a few urinals. They both thought that would be good enough. He and Jason talked through the plan, Jason laid out the needed materials and they decided on a timeline to do the work. Bud would need to dig trenches to bury the lines and drains in prep, frame the building for the roughins and generally be working ahead of Jason.
He also called up Allen to walk through the electrical plan, lighting needs, plugs etc. But first he needed a building in place for Allen to work in.
