Jake Bennett could not think of a time when he had been more excited. His parents would be gone for three days and they were leaving him to watch the house, and he had plans.
His maternal grandmother's step sister's second husband had died. The relation was distant, Jake had only met the man once. But his grandmother had asked Jake's mother to go with her to the funeral and Jake's father offered to drive the two ladies all the way out to rural West Virginia. Because the relation was distant and the funeral was on a week day in March, Jake's parents decided to leave alone Jake so he wouldn't have to miss school or work. He was a senior in highschool and looking forward to going to college in August.
Jake's parents told him to just to keep an eye on things and to not have anyone over without texting them first. His mother left some food in the fridge for him and they told him they would be back soon. They left Tuesday morning before Jake drove to school.
Walking in the hallway, before first period, Jake looked around. There wasn't many people in the hallway, class was about to start. He walked up to Vance Calhoun quickly and wanted nobody to notice who he was talking to. He moved fast.
"Hey." Jake said quietly.
"Hey you." Vance winked.
"My house after school. You have the address right?"
"Sure do. Can't wait." Vance said with a wink as he closed his locker and walked away. Jake grinned a bit as he watched the skinny kid walk away. He was nervous and excited all at the same time.
Vance Calhoun was the one student everyone knew was gay. He was skinny and had blonde highlights in his wavy hair. He wore tight clothes, spoke in a flamboyant manner, he was in theater, and he was the butt of many jokes. But he embraced it all.
Jake Bennett however was the quiet, regular, mild mannered, athletic kid who did not run around with the likes of Vance Calhoun. He had a few girlfriends off and on, but he knew he liked men too. He had never had the courage to explore or accept his bisexuality, until he and Vance had worked together.
They both had gotten jobs at the local grocery store. Despite being in the same grade they had never interacted much, but they started to at work. And their talk during breaks slowly developed over the weeks and months. And as Jake opened up he began to ask Vance questions. His curiosity and that bisexual side ha had always buried, slowly emerged as he interacted with Vance. Vance was more than happy to answer and he wanted a lover himself. But Jake wasn't ready to be open about it and he was nervous to be seen with Vance outside of work. This only made Vance more attracted to Jake, he liked the challenge of trying to win Jake over. Eventually, Vance offered to let Jake have sex with him.
The question at first had scared Jake but he later talked himself into trying it. And he told Vance he'd let him know when he was ready. With his parents gone and his curiosity and teenage hormones running wild, now was the perfect moment to try.
After school, Jake rushed home and put his bag away. All day he had been anticipating this moment. He was scared and excited. Here was his moment to try something he had never done before, but something he desperately wanted. He decided to brush his teeth before Vance arrived. As he was brushing he heard a knock at the back door. Vance had come via the back way and by bicycle. Vance liked being secretive. It made things more exciting.
Jake rushed downstairs and opened the back door. He saw Vance standing there.
"Hey you." Vance smiled.
"Hi." Jake stammered.
"Can I come in?" Vance asked. His steely blue eyes and freckled face stared at Jake. He also was holding a backpack in his hand.
