My New Personal Assistant: Chapter 17 -- New Year's Eve
"It's a mess in here, man!" I came downstairs from the bathroom, holding my head and feeling sick.
"Sue me!"
"My head is going to explode...."
"Then turn that way," Brandon scrambled and sat on the couch he spent the night on.
I started laughing.
"What?"
"I think it's official, Bran. We have a mid-life crisis!"
"Talk about yourself, man."
"Said a nearly forty-year-old guy in a t-shirt with a cartoon and ripped jeans."
"It's comfy. I am not getting into anything I can't do a handstand in."
"That may have been true ten years ago, buddy. When was the last time you did one?"
"Right now, look."
I watched him, amused. I was sure he could do one, but I don't believe he can do it with a hangover as we have now. I was right. Brandon fell just a few inches from the coffee table, and I laughed so hard that I sat on the floor next to him.
.
"Man!" my head was killing me. The truth is I don't even drink that much. The last time I remember I got this drunk was probably my birthday a year ago, and I was sick for three days after that. Why do people get old?
I love Brandon! He really did give me those pink clamps as a Christmas gift and opened the bottle of whiskey I gave him. We talked, remembered old times, and ranted about those current ones. It was a very unusual Christmas, but I must say, it was one of the best I have had in the past couple of years. I needed this, and I think he did too!
When I got drunk, I even told him about my call with Thomas in front of his house, and when I mentioned I was not permitted to cum, he had a blast! He kept teasing me about it the whole night.
We even cooked dinner, and I then ate it. It was horrible! I wanted to order something, but he refused. I suppose he just wanted to make expectations for this Christmas as low as possible.
.
So the Christmas started with this hangover and him lying on the floor. I loved it!
We were sick for the next few days, so we just hung out in his loft, ate pizzas, played games, and talked.

Dec. 30th, 2019:
"Your phone, Matt."
I jumped to it excited but froze solid upon seeing the screen. Damn it!
"Hi, Natasha."
"Hi, Matt. I am checking if we are still going to Hayes's party like every year."
"Yeah, well, I am going with Brandon."
"Great. I will see you then."
"No, wait." I wanted to tell her I would be going, but I didn't think it was best for her to come, but she had already hung up. Really? Nooo...!
.
"What?" Brandon looked at me, troubled.
"Natasha is coming to Nate's."
"At New Year's?"
"Yeah."
"You know that it's not nice to break up with someone on New Year's, right?"
"What was I supposed to do?"
"Break up with her before telling her to come?"
"I didn't tell her to come! Man!"
"What does Thomas do on New Year's? You can invite him as well."
"Fuck you!"
"Say it like you mean it!" he turned to me with a mocking seductive grin. I hit him with a pillow.
"Bastard... Maybe I won't come."
"Are you seriously going to skip our game night?"
.
True was that I loved New Year's! Nate and Ashley organize this every year. The whole gang comes, and it's one of those few times when we are all together. Our lives are going so fast; most of us have a family now, and Dan now even has a kid. I don't want to miss this.
"I don't want to deal with her."
"Then call her and tell her that you are breaking up."
"Yeah, breaking the engagement over the phone a day before New Year's is much better."
"Then when are you planning on doing it?"
"13th."
"Will it be Friday?" Brandon never really tried to conceal that he didn't like Natasha. For him, she was too passive. He didn't care that she could be a golddigger. He never cared much about social prejudices such as this. To each his own, he always said. Brandon didn't mind our transactional relationship as long we were okay with it. It was the way she acted he couldn't shake. He never really gave me a normal explanation, however. Just that he doesn't think she is for me. But he, of course, respected my decisions.
"Ha-ha, hilarious. No Monday, but I don't plan on seeing her before that."
"Except on New Year's Eve when she will celebrate it with you and your friends," he winked at me, and I just lay on the carpet, regretting my life choices.

Dec. 31st, 2019:
I parked in front of Nate's house. Judging by the cars, John with Abigail and Dan with Susan were already there.
"Do you think they brought Blake as well?"
"I don't think so. She's like two months now. I don't think even Susan came."
"Why?"
"Man, you are living in your own world, do you."
He shook his head and just stepped out.
"What?" What did I say?
.
We greeted everyone, and Ashley told me that Natasha was upstairs in the restroom and she should be down shortly. Great, I couldn't wait...
I grouped with Bran, Nate, and John and tried to dodge the question of how my Christmas went when I heard her soft voice calling my name.
I must say she was beautiful. She had this tight red dress on, and she looked stunning. Her sleek brown hair was falling on her back, and the way she moved was seduction itself. That woman was hot! What was weird was that now it wasn't enough for me. What is happening to me?
"Hi," she purred and kissed my lips.
"Hi," I said sternly.
She leaned toward me and pulled me down by the hem of my jacket. Then she whispered in my ear.
"I am not wearing anything underneath."
.
The Matt I used to know would grab her hand and drag her into the basement or laundry room that minute. I had sex with her in this house every New Year's, and it was a standing joke now between us guys. Nate was cool about it.
But I smiled forcefully this time and asked Brandon if he wanted something to drink. Natasha stood there, shocked. I know I was cruel, but there was no way I could stand there thinking about her firm naked breasts or pussy under that fricking short dress and not cum after nearly a month without shooting. No way I could stand this trial! So I decided just to run.
.
The evening was great. I loved how Nate and Ashley created the best cozy atmosphere. They were one of those couples one should strive to be, they were the most supportive partners I had ever met, and Ashley had such a caring personality that I was happy Nate found her.
The food was excellent, and after dinner, we all relaxed, sat in the living room, and talked. We laughed and teased each other.
For most previous years, we celebrated in five pairs. We usually sat in various places around Nate's living room. But this time, Brandon and I sat together, and Natasha leaned on me from the other side. This was the first year that Florence was not present, and we all tried not to mention it, but when one looked at Brandon, we could see he missed her here. Honestly... we love Brandon, but we missed her too.
Natasha tried to snatch me away quite a few times, but I told her every time that I wanted to be there for Brandon since this was the first new year he was here alone. She nodded, but I could see she didn't like it.
.
After eight, all of us guys went up to Nate's room to play and drink. I was every year like this, us guys up in Nate's room, and women chatted downstairs in the living room. It was the perfect tradition. Even this time, only Ashley, Abigail, and Natasha were there.
"What do you want to play?"
"I don't know; let's look."
"Man, I could just fall asleep here!" Dan fell on Nate's bed.
"Enjoying the life of a father?"
"No, way!"
