Mac Jones was hard at it, mowing the lawn on a hot July day. His neighbor directly behind him was a guy by the name of Bill Jones. Besides the last name they had very little in common, other than both seemed to be always working on their well-kept houses.
As for their differences, Mac was a good ten years younger plus already married with kids. Mac worked in construction and his beefy body showed it. Something that did not go unnoticed by Bill who was a stylist at the nearby mall. Bill's frame was long and lean and he was not only meticulous with his yards but himself too.
It was very clear to Mac and the rest of the neighborhood that Bill was Gay but to at least Mac and his wife they could care less. Neither were homophobic and both had their reasons as to why they liked him. Mac appreciated how nice he kept his house up and his wife Sue just thought he was the sweetest neighbor ever. There was a lot to Sue's opinion because if ever a helping hand was needed Bill was the first to show up.
As the two neighbors wave as they pass in the opposite direction while both are mowing their backyards. Their thoughts could not be more different also.
Bill is thinking how good his shirtless neighbor looks, sweat beads racing down his back and chest. And also thinking why can't he find his "Mac"
Mac has his mind on problems, a recent interior project reviled they have termites. Being in construction he knew how serious that was and although he would fix the problem himself he does not have the tools to do so. Having a young family was not helpful either as money was always short on hand as one might expect.
The two men crisscrossed back and forth until they both reached the shared fence between them. Bill shut down his mower and gave a second wave "how's it going, neighbor?"
Spotting Bill's hand wave Mac stops mowing and yells out "what did you say?"
Bill tries again "l said how are things going"
Mac still confused kills the motor on his mower "I'm sorry, l still couldn't hear you"
Bill tries a third time in his normal voice, l was asking how things were.
Now without the noise from the mower, Bill came in loud and clear. "well friend things could be better, l came across some termites and l will have to tent the house.
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. Is there anything l can do?
Looking the other way "yeah, you can give me the money"
Sorry, what was that? I'm sorry, I didn't understand you.
Oh, nothing. It looks like we will have to move out a few days or so.
Wow, that will be hard with the kids and all. Again, I'm so sorry and please tell Sue for me too.
Yeah, yeah, no problem.
That night Mac and Sue tried to figure out what would work best fix that they could also afford. They went back and forth between them until they had a contingent plan. Sue would take the girls to her mom's and Mac was going to test Bill's offer to help. Their thinking was if Mac could stay at Bill's place he could continue to work and have access to his tools.
It was getting late and they still had a couple of days before the house was to be tented, so they put off asking Bill until the next day.
Sue was the first to see Bill, when she was on a walk with the kids and Bill was pulling out to leave for work.
Hi sweetie, I'm so sorry to hear about the bad news. If there's anything l can do...
Hi Bill, actually Mac has something to ask you tonight, will you be home?
Oh for sure, anytime after six. And l told you, call me Billy, all my girlfriends do.
Okay, "Billy", Mac will come over after six. Bye
It was about seven o'clock and just after dinner when Mac made his way over to see his neighbor.
Bill having prior notice answered the door in let's say his leisure wear. a woman's semi-transparent robe, black lace woman's undies, and those slippers with the fuzzy edge, instead of a simple hello, he said "so l hear you need me, l mean you need something from me"
All that threw Mac off a bit but he quickly recovered, or he thought. "yeah I need you, l l l mean I need a favor from you"
"Anything sugar, you know that... that l always help when l can"
You see l, no we... have a problem... l mean can l be with you? l mean can l stay with you. Oh shit, l don't think l know what l need anymore. (Mac turns his head down in sadness)
Bill laughed saying "relax honey, l spoke with Sue an hour ago and of course, you can stay here. Anytime and for as long as you need, or until you escape. But l have one rule inside my home, you must call me Billy"
Okay, Bill, l mean Billy. They will be tenting the house tomorrow morning, but I'll swing by after work. Is that okay?
That you come over or we swing? Ha-ha, I'm kidding, see you tomorrow Stud.
Mac made his way back home and the first thing out of his mouth was to ask Sue why didn't she tell him she had already talked with Billy.
Billy is he now? she smirked back at Mac.
Mac still flustered "Bill l mean, l mean she, ah Billy ah,... oh fuck it, tell me next time, will you!
Sure Macie, whatever you want...
Later that night when Mac was after his last piece of ass he would get for a few days. He may not have noticed but his wife sure did.
