I'd been going to the gym for about 6 months or so now and finally I was starting to see a difference. My muscles were getting toned and my stomach flatter. I was happy with the progress I was making in my appearance as well as my stamina.
The gym always had it's typical days. Monday's were always busy as everyone was making up for over indulging at the weekend. After Wednesday the numbers always seemed to go down and it was always the same familiar faces come Thursday and Friday.
Then there was the type of clientele. There was those like me that wanted to lose a bit of weight that had been gained over the years. Then there was the muscle guys and girls who purely did weights. The all rounders who did everything. The athletes who ran and cycled. The posers who always looked really fit but never actually did anything except look in the mirror or chat to other posers.
I usually did a bit on the weight machines to tone up and some cardio to build some stamina. Whenever I went I just kept myself to myself and got on with my workout. I was there for the exercise not for the social aspect.
I always used the changing rooms as I went straight after work and had a shower afterwards. I noticed that a lot of people avoided using them and used the lockers outside the gym. I'd overheard rumours about various things going on in the showers within the changing room but had never experienced or seen any such activities. Until now.
