Sean and I returned from the gay campground Thursday afternoon. I would be seeing him in the morning for our workout. I knew that Sean and I would never be more than a friend with benefits. I was ok with that. We would have to see what happened when the benefits were cut off, as they would eventually be.
I called Bill to tell him that I was back home.
"How was the camping? Which campground did you wind up going to?"
I gave him the name of the campground. Bill was acquainted with that campground.
"I've been there a couple of times. What did you think of it?"
I told Bill about our non-sexual activities, including having my first birdie on the golf course. I also told Bill about inviting Stephanie and Heather up next week. "I hope you don't mind."
"Of course I don't mind. I told you that I want you to consider the place to be your house, and if you want to have guests over, feel free to invite them over. Just remember, no wild parties."
Then I asked if we had any guests coming up this weekend. Bill said that he hadn't invited anyone, and asked if I wanted any guests this weekend.
"Would you mind if I invited Frank and Haley? I'd like to talk with them about school in the Fall."
"I think that's a great idea. Would you like me to give them a call?"
"No. Frank and I exchanged contact info when he was here. I'll send him a text."
Bill and I wound up talking for about 30 minutes.
As the call ended, Bill said, "Love you, Jack. See you soon."
"Thanks Bill. I love you too."
As I hung up the phone, I sat down. Bill and I had said that we loved each other a few times, but this was the first time that he said it first. I also wondered what he meant by seeing me soon. I wasn't expecting him until tomorrow night or Saturday morning at the soonest.
About an hour later, I got two notices. The first was that one of the garage doors was being opened. Then second was that someone was coming onto to property. I went to the garage in time to see Bill pulling the Camaro in.
I waved at him and waited for him to come into the house, where I promptly jumped up (Bill was about 8 inches taller than I am), forcing him to catch me while I gave him a hug and a big kiss.
"You didn't tell me you were coming up tonight."
"I wanted to surprise you. Surprise!"
"Thank you, Bill. This is a great surprise."
Bill took me out to dinner. While out to dinner, I received replies from Frank and from Stephanie.
Frank said that he was not able to come up this weekend, but hoped that we could arrange a time for he and Haley to come up before school. He asked me to call him sometime this weekend and we could talk about Ann Arbor and this Fall.
Stephanie's text:
Heather and I are excited about coming up next week. We can arrive Wed afternoon but have to leave on Friday around noon. Would that work?
I showed the text to Bill. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Well, would that work?"
I returned a text:
That would be perfect.
I ended it with a kiss emoji.
It didn't take long. I received a kiss emoji in return. I didn't show that to Bill.
"Stephanie and Heather will be up next Wednesday."
Bill smiled. "I bet they're excited."
We laughed and finished our dinner.
When we got back to the house, I told Bill that I would get a fire started on the patio (Upper Michigan can get chilly at night, even in July), if he would mix up some margaritas.
Bill handed me my margarita, and climbed onto the chaise next to mine. "I need to get a double size chaise. I prefer it when we're sitting together."
I got the hint. I got up and sat in his lap. "Are you sure that we need a double chaise?"
"I wasn't necessarily thinking about you and me. I much prefer this. I was thinking that we have lots of couples as guests. I think that Jim and your mother would enjoy the double chaise as well."
I hadn't thought about Jim since Bill showed up suddenly. The more that I thought about it, the more I was convinced that it was actually Jim on that Tuesday. I just couldn't figure out how Bill got Jim to agree to it. Sean would never mistake Jim's truck for a truck that looked like his. That is something that we notice Up North. You know the other person's truck.
"How did you get Jim to agree to it?"
"To what?" Bill was already having a problem with not telling Jack the truth, but he gave Jim his word. Bill had to do everything he could to convince Jack that it was not actually Jim that was there that day. Then he decided that he needed to talk with Jim about this.
"You know what I'm talking about. Sean would never mistake Jim's truck outside of our house. I cannot believe that you were able to talk Jim into it. I was just curious about HOW you were able to talk him into it?"
