I recently had an experience that changed my way of looking at the world… My current work allows me a great deal of free time. I spend as much of it as possible sailing in and around the San Francisco Bay on a 40 foot sailboat. I enjoy the freedom of sailing and have made many good friends where ever I go. One evening last month, I was coming back in through the Golden Gate after a great day of sailing, when I noticed another boat that appeared to be in distress.
I could see in the dim light that there were two people aboard that they were trying to prevent their older 30 foot sailboat from drifting into the rocks just east of the bridge. I managed to called out to them on the VHF radio and discovered that they had encountered engine trouble and were very grateful for any assistance that I could offer. They introduced themselves over the radio as Amanda and Rolf. Rolf thanked me profusely for even being willing to risk my safety to help them. I was able to get near enough to them with my boat to throw them a heavy dock line that they tied to the bow of their boat. This enabled me to tow them out of harm’s way and through the rough currents that flow through the mouth of the San Francisco Bay.
I called them again on the radio and asked them where they would like to be towed. They explained that they were just arriving from the Seattle area and did not have arrangements to stay in any marina as yet. I told them that I could tow them back to the marina where I keep my boat and help them find something there. Within an hour, we had them tied up safely on a open dock right near my boat. The couple turned out to be boyfriend and girlfriend. Amanda was an attractive blonde with a wide smile and a great figure in her late 20’s while Rolf was dark-haired with a muscular build in his early 20’s.
I invited them both over to get dried off and to have a drink to relax after their unplanned adventure. They gratefully accepted my offer of hospitality and their eyes sparkled when I handed them each a strong tequila on the rocks. We sat in the warm comfort of my boat and I listened to their story about sailing down the coast from Seattle. Again, Rolf thanked me several times for helping them out of such a tough situation. I told them that I was happy to help and continued asking them questions about their journey and plans in the future. We continued to refresh our drinks several times and all of us were getting warm and very comfortable. Amanda removed her sweatshirt to display a beautiful pair of bra-less breasts that were lightly covered by a white blouse.
