Chapter 13 -- AN INSATIABLE APPETITE
(NOTE TO READER: One of my followers suggested that I might start my chapters with a comment about my story. As many have surmised, this is not a story of fiction. My writing reflects real events in my life. As described to one reader, "
As written, the timeline is probably 90% accurate; the dialogues are probably 85% accurate. But the overall story line is 100% accurate. From beginning to end, my story carried on for almost 6 years. The earlier days are actually the most vivid and those are the experiences that I share in my writing." I cannot change who I was. I truly enjoyed the majority of my experiences. The major casualty of my chosen life was the damage that happened between my family and me. My family would eventually discover my activities and banished me from the family. Chinese shame is not something to be challenged. Unfortunately, I have been fully estranged from my family for over ten years.)
Mae and I walked into the restaurant. Despite being a Sunday evening it was still very crowded. I was worried about how long the wait might be.
Mae asked, "Have you ever been here?" I told her that I had been to a Teppan restaurant before, but not that one. She said, "Very popular place for birthdays. Don't worry, it won't be too long. The tables all seat 8, we'll get to move in with a 6-person table. They had us wait in the bar. There were no seats available, which was just as well because with my short skirt, sitting might have been a show in itself.
There were a number of guys that were checking us out. But looking around the room, there were plenty of other girls that had provocative clothing too. I doubted any of them were prostitutes, instead they were just dressed for going out and having a good time. But, I think we may have been the only two that were without underwear.
As we waited, my phone buzzed. I could tell by the double vibration it was a text. I opened my phone to read the text. It was Terry! It read, "I want to fuck you now." I sent a simple reply, "Me too" and closed my phone. Mae didn't ask about the text. I just smiled at her as I put the phone away.
To my amazement we were seated within only a few minutes. We were seated at a table with 3 couples; they were together celebrating a birthday. Mae and I were seated at the end of the table. Mae was seated in the lonely corner on the chef side, whereas I was seated on the end corner next to one of the guys. Starting with me it went girl-boy-girl-boy all around the table.
They were a fun group and made the dinner that much more enjoyable. There was no hanky-panky between me and the guy next to me. Once during the meal, my phone rang. Mae said, "Go ahead and take the call."
I quietly answered the call and turned my back from the table towards Mae to whisper into the phone. I told the guy I was at dinner and could not really talk. He asked if I was available. I said, "I'll have a room tomorrow."
Mae nudged me and said, "See if he wants you tonight. Maybe 9:30."
I did as she suggested and he said that would work and asked, "How much?" I said, "What did you want?"
He said, "The main course."
I said, "3 covered, 5 bare, but we can decide that later. Motel 6 on First near Gish, room 233."
He said he would be there at 9:30. I hung up the phone and glanced at it.
There had been another text from Terry. It read, "When?" I wrote back, "Around 11, will let you know".
I closed the phone and whispered to Mae, "I hope you're still willing to give me a ride home. You don't mind waiting?" She said she didn't. There were no more calls during dinner. It was just an entertaining dinner with a great food preparation show by the chef.
The check came around and I paid the bill with cash; I was flush with cash. I started thinking I was going to need a place to stash the money. It was too much to be walking around with. We left the restaurant around 7:30. We walked back across the street.
Immediately a car pulled alongside us as we walked on the sidewalk.
The man looked at me and asked, "Would you like a ride?"
I said, "No thanks, we're just going up the street."
And then he asked the same of Mae. She said, "No thanks."
Being persistent he said, "How about a date?"
Mae said, "We just finished dinner, maybe a little later."
He said, "I'll watch for you."
And then he drove off. I said, "Wow he was pretty bold. Actually asking you out."
Mae laughed and said, "Not that kind of date. He meant our kind of date." I felt pretty stupid.
About a hundred yards up he pulled up to another girl that was on the sidewalk and said something, presumably the same questions. Apparently she said 'no' too. After he drove off she just stood where she was. It was obvious why she was on the street, despite rejecting the driver. But considering how we were dressed, he correctly thought the same of us. As we got closer, the girl gave us a knowing smile. Mae said, "Hello" and started a conversation.
Mae said, "Probably a little early, huh?"
The girl said "Yes. He seemed a little creepy."
Mae said, "Do you think he was a cop?"
She said, "No. It's Sunday. They usually leave us alone on Sunday. Just stay away every other Thursday."
Mae said, "Really?"
The girl said, "Like clockwork".
Mae asked, "This Thursday?"
The girl said, "No, next Thursday. I haven't seen you two out here before."
Mae said, "It's been almost a year." Pointing at me she said, "First time for her."
