It was supposed to be a chill spring break trip. Six college students--three couples--renting a secluded cabin tucked in the thick woods of North Carolina. No parents, no classes, just weed, liquor, and lake views.
There was Zay and Mya, the longtime couple that had been together since freshman year--Zay was quiet, lowkey, tatted with locs and dimples, while Mya had that soft voice and a body shaped like sin.
Devin and Skye were the wild ones. Devin was bi, tall, light skin with a septum ring and a dick print that lived on social media. Skye was artsy, a trans woman who everyone swore looked like a K-pop star and a stripper rolled in one--long pink hair, flawless skin, and an attitude.
Then there was Tony and Jade, the new couple. Tony was funny, a gym rat with a freaky streak, and Jade was thick, Black and Dominican, shy in public but a known tease behind closed doors.
The cabin had everything--hot tub, game room, wraparound porch--but no one expected that wild-ass windstorm to knock out the cell tower. Phones went dead. Wi-Fi stopped working. No TikTok, no IG, no messages. Just vibes.
After an hour of panic and pacing, Skye was the first to break the silence. She poured shots and yelled, "Truth or dare, bitches!"
The others groaned but followed her lead.
At first, it was innocent:
"Truth: Have you ever faked an orgasm?"
"Dare: Take a body shot off your partner."
"Truth: Who in this room would you sleep with if you weren't with your boo?"
The air thickened with tension and whiskey.
Then Devin got bold. "Truth: Who's bi in here?"
Zay and Tony glanced at each other. Devin raised an eyebrow.
Zay cleared his throat. "I mean... I've messed around with a dude before. It was college."
Tony followed, "Same. Just once... but it wasn't bad."
Skye grinned. "Y'all so scared to be free. This that safe space shit."
Everyone laughed, but the room felt different now. No one judged, but now the secrets were real.
Then Jade whispered, "Truth. Skye... when did you know you were trans?"
Skye's eyes flicked to Devin, then back to Jade. "Since middle school. Didn't say anything till college though. Y'all didn't know?"
