Charles was the first to wake the next day, realizing that he had passed out on the couch. The night came back to him a bit, as he remembered some of the conversation he and Midori had before it...went off down the trail of whether or not the Hatchers (of the Fudge books) were bad parents (how the fuck did...right, beer), then he promised he would join her in bed, but instead...he passed out on the couch. Charles got up, glad he was not working that day, holding his head and going to the bedroom, where Midori had thrown up on the carpet and was currently wetting the bed while still asleep. Her customized dildo (based on his penis, in fact) was still in her hand and the can of beer she had been drinking was still on her nightstand.
"Uh, Midori..." Charles tried, gently shaking her.
"What?" She was still sleeping.
"You're pissing in the bed."
"Then wipe me."
Charles rolled his eyes and flipped Midori onto her back. She sat up slowly, then bolted out of bed to the bathroom. Hearing her set him off, though, and the limited space meant that much of the morning was spent cleaning the apartment and making another trip to the laundry area.
"I'm never drinking again," Charles said.
"Really?"
"Okay, I'm never drinking that much again."
"Bullshit." Midori poured the tea she had been brewing for them and joined Charles at the table. "We like beer, and that's who we are."
"Should we pick up from last night?"
"I don't really remember much beyond the general topic of conversation..."
"Neither do I." Charles took a sip of tea and sighed. "I guess my body and mind are fighting about this. I meant it when I said that I want to, but simultaneously, I don't want to, and I don't know how that works."
"Which one is the bigger one? Wanting to fuck me, or not?"
"Not..."
"Then don't."
"What about you?"
"You've put up with me the longest. You've endured my drinking, you share my taste in music and movies, and you're the only person I can talk to about semi-obscure atheist podcasts. You're not my first boyfriend, but you're the first I've truly loved."
