Preface
This is a bridge, introducing new staff, getting the renos started, not much steamy eroticism in this part.
Chapter 40
"Erin, Babe, it's after 7. O kisses my cheek.
"Oh, crap, wow, I slept like a baby, damn that was special,"
"Morning sweety." I give her a nice kiss, roll out of bed.
"That massage, the fingering, the thumb, damn good O. Damn good." I open a drawer, grab some clothes.
"Here throw these on." I toss her some jogging shorts and a tee. I pull on a sexy, simple, short, summer dress. I kiss her passionately.
"We gotta get there before Carl, first day of work. You drive don't you."
"Hey Erin, easy girl, calm down, we're not late." She holds my shoulders.
"Yes, I drive, I'll get coffee and bagels while you unlock the bar." She hugs me,
"It's gonna be a great day."
"Damn, you're good for me, thank-you."
"I've never driven a Benz. This the brake?" she stomps the gas, the tires squeal, as she backs out the garage.
"Whoa, good thing it was in reverse, whew."
"Really O, can you drive?"
"Yes, just playing. You awake now?" Giggling.
"Well damn you, yes I am."
Penelope and Jim are getting into their car.
"Fuckin' fun eh," I give them the thumbs up.
"Yes, thank you." Carrie hollers from her step.
Odette peels out, tire squealing.
"Benz got some git up and go."
"Easy sweety, enjoy the journey." I flick her nipple.
"I could get used to being chauffeured,"
"Anytime babe, anytime, I like driving." She turns to me "Driving my tongue and digits into you, hear you scream OOOH, OOHHH." She laughs flipping my boob.
"OOHH My OH"
We both laugh loudly, wind in our hair.
The Partridge Family song playing in my head. 'Oh, I think I love you,' I look over at her, smiling, so gorgeous, she makes me feel really good. Not just in bed, like right now, just being with her. Laughing.
"Hey babe, do you know a bartender?"
"Sure do."
We pull up in front of the bar.
"Babe, come with me please." I insert the key.
"First time opening, together." I place her hand over mine, turning the key. I kiss her, tearing up.
"Whole new life starts right fucking now." We stand hugging. Carl arrives, O leaves.
"Morning Erin, Bernice is still in bed with Josie?" He chuckles.
"She might be here around 11." He chuckles.
"Josie is amazing, I got some pics." We sit, he passes his phone. Josie is doing the splits. Getting DP'd, eating Bernice. Another she is bent backwards, shoulders on the floor near her feet, sucking Carl, knees wide Bernice is carpet munching.
"They're insatiable, both contortionists. I got a couple hours sleep; I doubt Bernice slept at all."
Both crews arrive, we sort out who does what. O returns with pastries and coffee.
I search online for furniture, flooring, light fixtures.
O contacts a bartender to come for an interview.
I order 6 gym mats, 4 sectional couches, 4 coffee tables, all to be delivered asap.
The security fellow arrives; I spend an hour showing him what I want.
"I'll get you a quote in a couple days."
"Whoa, stop, I need the perimeter cameras operating by the weekend, interior surveillance completed next week. I guess I'll have to find someone who can do it right away."
"No. I want this job, I'll have a quote by 2pm, with a guaranteed deadline."
"Excellent, see you this afternoon."
The cook arrives, I extend my hand.
"Hi, I'm Erin."
"Hello, I'm Steve Garnett."
"Steve, you come with high recommendations, so cut to the chase, time's important; expected wage, create a menu, and are you willing to sign a year's commitment?"
"$30, I'll commit to a year, I won't create a menu for free?"
"Go check out the kitchen, I'll make a call."
I call Luigi.
"Hello."
"Luigi, Erin, now Simpson."
"Hi Erin. Impressed with your escapade; I understand you're single now."
"I am, Luigi, a professional call, I bought a bar, and I'm seeking advice, if you'd be so kind."
"Erin, of course, did you buy the one on Prince?"
"I did. Is it a tragic mistake?"
"Definitely not, I planned to offer $875, in a couple months."
"I paid less, now I'm remodeling. I have a cook here, Steve Garnett, what's the going rate for a cook?"
"Wow, he's good. I know Steve, great for catering, I'd hire him, $22 an hr."
"Great thanks, I'm planning to gut and redo the kitchen, any recommendations?"
"Whoa, slow down girl, that kitchen works fine, the appliances are all working, shiny doesn't make the food better, my equipment is older than those, I get no complaints. Gordon Johnson, I'll have him call you."
Steve returns.
"Great, Luigi, thanks."
"Erin, to show my appreciation for your support, a complimentary meal for six, let me know date and time."
"Luigi, you're a special kinda great, we'll chat soon."
"So, Luigi says wage for a cook is around $20, you have catering experience. Is that kitchen capable of that, I'm considering doing weddings."
"The kitchen is satisfactory; I need $25."
"$22. Starting right now, cook this week for me and the workers, lunch at 12, supper at 5. Prove your worth $25."
"Ok," we shake.
I locate Carl and O upstairs.
"How goes the battle?"
"Odette's a great helper. The donation crews done. Carpets are gone, we should have the upstairs ready for cleaning tomorrow."
"Carl, could we fit stacking laundry in this bathroom?"
"Yup, remove the tub, new shower stall, toilet, laundry there, sink and counter here. Sure, 3 days."
"Great."
We high 5,
"I hired Steve, lunch at 12 suppers at 5 daily." I embrace O,
"You smell delicious, a little sweaty, Rraarrr." We kiss.
I send a group text: hired a cook, lunch @ 12, supper @ 5 daily.
Today is free, lunches $5. Supper $8.
Message if coming so we know how much to cook.
Bernice arrives a little after 11, looking beat; cuddling a large coffee she sags into a chair.
