Steve was a model student at school and hence he graduated with honours in Maths, Physics and Arts. Being a model student, he was always looked down upon by the delinquents and usually bullied. There were times when he would have to hide or even run so that he would not be bullied by the outlaws. Being a model student, he was able to build excellent contacts with the teachers and other higher up in the ladder.

It's been 6 months since Steve Hansford finished his studies. He wanted to be a maths teacher by profession. After such a long time he was still looking for a job at schools so that he can be a teacher. Steve had university loans to pay and now he was also running short on rent. Every few days the beautiful daughter of the landlady would be at his door demanding for his rent.

One lucky day he got a call from Milly high for a job interview. He dressed to his best with collared shirt tie and blazer and arrived 1 hour earlier at Milly high. As soon as he introduced himself at the reception, he was told to enter the boardroom for the interview. The interview panel was a collection of 2 men Mr john and Mr Rob who were the board of directors and a lady Mrs Linda who was the headmistress of the school. she looked like a no-nonsense lady and of great standing in the school.

he considered himself lucky to have landed such an interview. in the interview panel he decided to pass on his qualifications when he was told that they had gotten him on good authority from other schoolteachers that he was the best in his job. till now Steve had been assuming that he was being hired for the job of a mathematics teacher. boy was he in for a surprise. The first thought in his mind was who would that be to highly recommend me and from another school since he was practicality unemployed for almost six months after graduations. Mrs Linda said that Steve looked a bit young for his job but since she had the recommendations, she was ready to ignore the age factor.

Mr Linda said, "congratulations you have landed your job as a disciplinarian I. Milly high" Steve was shocked he thought he had come for the interview of a maths teacher how did he suddenly become a disciplinarian. due to his unemployed status he decided to hold onto any straw and move forward. this better than being unemployed. deciding not to put the foot in his mouth he decided to agree even if the reference was for some other interviewee, how could he not take the job after so long and a decided package of $100000 plus benefits for the year. Just when Steve was about to leave from the interview and accept the offer an idea struck him. He had known that some very rich and powerful people ran this school hence was tempted to take the school a step forward.

After the interview in favour of Steve, he put in some conditions.

1. All parent to sign an agreement that the school will decide upon the punishment for the students for any misdeeds and the parents have no say in it. The punishment may include corporal and humiliation where no permanent damage to the physique and health of the student will ever happen in this school.

2. The punishment issued in school can be continued at home and it is recommended by the school that this punishment continue even if it is outside school.

3. Steve will be allowed to teach maths and physics class

4. No one is to be informed that Steve is the disciplinarian of Milly high until he himself announces it by himself.

The interview panel considered on his conditions, but the last condition was tricky they had to haggle in between themselves as they were handing over full disciplinary authority to Steve. Mr john finally said what are going to lose if we hand over the disciplinary power. at this moment there is almost no discipline. we are just catering for rich spoilt kids whose parents have a lot of money. If Steve fails, we will have lost nothing but if he is successful, we will have achieved a huge milestone.

All contracts were signed on the spot hence there was no longer room for negotiation where a copy was kept with the school, and he took a copy.

When he left the board room, he saw an elderly man waiting to be sent to the board room. Having a chat with the gentleman, it was discovered that he was here for the same position Steve had already been offered. Steve also found out that the gentleman was referred to by another school for the position and had never sent a resume. It was all under the word of mouth between the referee and the administration of Milly High. The elderly man went for the interview while Steve waited outside to see the outcome and he was suspecting that the job would be given to the correct candidate hence wanted to see the results. The elderly man left the board room, and he was called back for the same. He was explained as to the error that had occurred, and an apology was put forward. Steve was given an opportunity that he will be hired as Maths teacher and the disciplinary to be given to the other person. At the moment of decision, Steve had a thought and said that since they don't know him, he should be allowed to abide to the contract hence act as the disciplinarian for Milly High. Since the contract was signed the panel decided to accept as it was, and he was to start work Monday morning.

Steve was to report on duty on Monday the following week, but he decided to take a stroll around the campus and see the schematics. He was not surprised at all the indiscipline at the school and the inconformity of the rules to the regulations. What surprised him the most was that there were some teachers who did not have a care as to what was going on in the school and would just stroll through even after seeing the problem. Since he was in a reconnaissance mission he decided to be as discreet as possible and when asked what he was doing there he would just say that he was the new teacher and was just trying to understand what is were in the school.

When the school was over, he just decided to leave with the other students in an inconspicuous way and decided that he will start his mission to change the school on the next day.

Since he was reporting the following day, he decided to prepare for the work that is to be carried out. The first thing he decided to check out is the school rule book and not what is allowed and what is not allowed in the school. Making some notes, he had to think of a plan to implement so the work can be carried out.

Steve reported to school on Monday and was directed to the staffroom with his duty schedule. He had a class second period and a class in first period after lunch. He decided to have small talk and introductions with the staff and had some chit chat and try to get what was happening and where the most in disciplined places in the school. Till now none of the tea hers knew that he was the disciplinarian in this school. He decided that this will be a fun year and wanted to see how much he can push the management to go through his way.

He went to the room for his first teaching class ever and as soon as the bell rang, students started to stroll lazily into the class. After the second bell, only half the student had yet arrived, and he started taking notes of those that were late. He started by introducing himself to the student and told them that since this was his first class, he was not planning to teach anything new. He wanted to know every student where they had to stand up and introduce themselves with a minimum information of their name, and their marks in maths. If the marks were not good enough, how can he be able to improve them. Some of the answers he received were outright awkward and the class was more like a mental ward than a teaching room. Steve noted some of the students that really needed to be disciplined but tried not to be eager to follow the process. He wanted to create the comfort level in the classroom to see how outrageous the students can get.

He decided to get information on how much and what the class had studied to date. By the time all this information was provided, the lesson was over. He followed the same routine for the following classes and was just gathering information on the progress at school and what positions the student were in. One thing that surprised him the most was that there was no class monitor in any of the classes. He noted some of the students that can be put up as class monitors but then had a different idea. Why not change the class monitor on weekly basis.

At the end of the week, he had kept a very loose schedule where most of the notorious student had thought that this will be a fun teacher where they can do anything they wish in class.

Steve had a long weekend where he was planning on how to run the discipline section in the school and Monday was approaching fast. He carried out some research over the internet and saw some of the techniques he could use.
