Persistent Arousal Syndrome: Her New Job, Part 1
COVID-19. The deadly disease that circled the globe over a year-long period starting in 2019 was rumored to have been started as a bio-weapon by the Chinese government. It's origin was discovered to be a government-funded lab, funded in part by the US Government, to do gain-of-function research... research to make naturally occurring animal viruses more infectious among humans.
The disease spread rapidly around the world in the first few months and when the first wave had passed, there were 759 million cases around the world with 6.87 million deaths. Luckily, scientists were able to determine how the virus infected the human body and developed multiple vaccines using Messenger RNA (mRNA) technology.
An mRNA vaccine gives cells instructions for how to make the S protein found on the surface of the COVID-19 virus. After vaccination, the body's muscle cells begin making the protein pieces and showing them on cell surfaces. This causes the body to create antibodies. These antibodies are used to help clear out the virus once someone becomes infected.
Once the protein pieces are made, the cells break down the instructions and get rid of them. The mRNA in the vaccine doesn't enter the nucleus of the cell, where DNA is kept.
As time wore on, the virus mutated, with future strains becoming less and less deadly, but still spreading rapidly. Doctors had found that the immunizations waned over time, too. So new variations of the vaccines were developed and used as boosters.
However, with the vaccines' rapid development and release needed to save lives, the vaccine itself caused side-effects that were unknown until the vaccine was widely released. One side-effect, which affected about one one-thousandth of one percent of the population that received it, caused Persistent Arousal Syndrome... or PAS. Over two thousand people in the United States alone were left to suffer.
While PAS did affect both genders, it was far more common in women and included symptoms such as tingling in the genital areas, vaginal lubrication, unpredictable or even spontaneous orgasms, and under extreme duress, unpredictable and wild sexual behavior.
Doctors have been unable to determine how the vaccine causes PAS and their treatment options to date have been unsuccessful. As of this writing, there is no treatment nor a cure.
Case File: Elizabeth Voigt... a thirty-two-year-old, divorced woman.
*****
Elizabeth Voigt sat at her desk, feeling her body tingle. It'd been building all morning, starting from when she woke up. It was getting more and more difficult to type and she was having trouble sitting still. There were no cubical walls in her office, so the five other women in the office could see every move she made. There was no way she could take care of her problem out here.
She swallowed hard as she locked her computer screen, stood, and quickly walked towards the bathroom. It was the third time she had to go in there this morning and she'd been in the office for just under three hours. She prayed that people didn't notice.
The bathroom was empty and she slipped into one of the stalls, quickly locking the stall door behind her. She pulled up her skirt, sat on the toilet, and spread her legs wide, her hand quickly moving down to slide along her very wet, very swollen labia.
"Oh, finally," she moaned as her fingertip circled her clit. She tried to keep quiet, tried to control her breathing, but it wasn't easy.
"Oh... God yes," she panted as she slid two fingers inside herself and slowly pumped them in and out. With her other hand she slid a hand inside her bra and rolled her nipple, teasing it. It was already hard and throbbing and touching sent bolts of pleasure right to her clit.
"Oh yeah," she hissed as she moved her hand faster, slamming her palm against her clit with every thrust into her pussy. "Oh!" It was becoming harder and harder to control how loud she was breathing. "Oh my God! Oh my God! Yessss!" she panted as she came, her body shaking hard.
One foot banged on the metal wall with the heel of her shoe, making a loud noise that seemed to echo in the small room.
"Oh my God," she panted as her orgasm subsided. "That was just what I needed. Almost didn't make it that time."
She stood and adjusted her blouse and her skirt, making herself presentable again.
"Ok... better get back to work."
She flushed the toilet as she exited the stall and walk to the sink to wash her hands. Movement at the back of the restroom caught her eye as Pam walked towards her, looking at her strangely.
"Are you ok?" Pam asked, looking very concerned.
"Yeah, yeah... why?" Elizabeth asked nervously. She really had no idea how long Pam could have been there or what she might have heard. But she was scared.
"Well... I noticed that you're having a hard time sitting at your desk," Pam said. "And you're running into the bathroom a lot."
"Sorry... I'm just... I don't know, I'm feeling..." Elizabeth said, trying to think of what to say to defend her actions.
"No worries... I overheard, you know... a little," Pam said, looking embarrassed. "Is that happening, you know, all the time?"
Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah... more frequently now. I don't know what's wrong with me."
"Aw, honey," Pam said, giving her a hug. "Maybe you should go see someone. I could recommend, you know, a doctor if you need one."
"Thanks," Elizabeth smiled.
Elizabeth ended up not taking Pam's suggested doctor, but did make a call to see her own, and made a plea for an urgent appointment. She didn't know how much more she could take. The doctor's office called her back within an hour, telling her they had an opening at 3pm. She gratefully took it.
She quickly typed an email to her boss, telling him about the appointment.

She showed up at the doctor's office at a little before 3pm and checked in. After only a short wait, the nurse took her back to an exam room where she had another short wait.
The doctor knocked quickly on the door just before opening it and walking inside. She shut the door behind her.
"Elizabeth, hi," she said. "I'm Doctor Wales. Doctor Trent is out of the office today and I'm filling in for him."
"Hi," Elizabeth said. She was surprised her own doctor was out. But she knew she'd probably be a little more comfortable discussing this with a female doctor anyway.
The two shook hands, then Dr. Wales pulled up a rolling chair and sat in front of Elizabeth. "So, tell me what's happening. Tell me what you're experiencing. The chart just mentions over-arousal issues."
Elizabeth nodded. "I feel like... you know... like a sex addict or something."
Dr. Wales nodded. "Ok."
"My life is a wreck," Elizabeth said, starting to sound frantic. "I cannot stop masturbating... all the time. And I cannot stop, just... fucking... everyone. Men... women... complete strangers."
