It was a beautiful spring evening and Lucas was on his way home from the neighbourhood grocery shop. He was feeling excited. It was Friday, his favourite day, the promise of a whole weekend was ahead of him. Instead of walking his usual route, he decided to take a detour and walk through the nearby park to enjoy the start of spring.
The air was filled with a fresh sweetness, the trees blossomed and their petals swayed gently in the light breeze. The walking path was lit up in golden hues by the setting sun, showing him the way. Lucas slowed down his pace and enjoyed the serenity and calmness the park exuded. He really liked this park. It was big and located on a hill, with large trees and lots of winding paths. When he first discovered the park he'd often lost his way.
As Lucas continued his walk through the park, he couldn't shake the unsettling feeling that someone was following him. His heartbeat quickened, and he glanced over his shoulder. Indeed someone was walking behind him, slowly but steadily. He wasn't sure if the person was actually following him, but just to be sure Lucas took a left and then a right turn. Don't be silly, he thought, why would anyone follow you? You're imagining things. He tried comforting himself, but when he looked over his shoulder he noticed that the figure was still behind him. Shit! He thought. He quickened his steps, the breezy spring air now felt heavy with tension.
Anxiety took hold as Lucas made his way through the park, his footsteps echoing in his ears. Or was it the footsteps of his follower? Lucas didn't dare to look over his shoulder again, he started running and knew that with just a few more turns he would be able to get out of the park.
Then, just as he turned left, a person appeared out of nowhere. "Whoa!," Lucas exclaimed as he bumped into the tall figure. He nearly lost his balance, but the person was quick and grabbed his arm, keeping Lucas from falling onto the ground.
"In a rush tonight, are we?" the person said with a soft deep voice. Lucas looked up and noticed the guy's face. He felt his belly flip. Fuck, this was the person that was just behind him, following him. He was actually the cute guy he had been seeing around the park last week. But Lucas couldn't shake an eerie feeling that crept upon him while looking into the stranger's green eyes.
"Uh, I was just...", Lucas tried to figure out what to say in order to avoid telling the guy he was actually running away from him.
The guy grinned, still holding onto Lucas's arm with a strong grip. "Why don't you... come with me? I think we could have some... fun... together." He spoke slowly and left short pauses between his words, which gave Lucas a weird tingly feeling in his stomach.
"I, uh... Well... I think I should go home...," Lucas muttered, panting, trying to come up with a smart answer, meanwhile looking around him to see if there was anyone around that he could ask for help. He tried to pull himself out of the guy's grip.
"No need to look for an escape," the guy said with a calm tone. "This time of the day there's usually no one in this area of the park. You should know that, I've seen you walking around here before at this time of day." He chuckled. "Such a cute guy, all alone in the park at night. You know... I can't resist that kind of temptation."
Lucas looked at the guy again and felt a tingle through his belly. Indeed he had seen this guy before in the park. He recognised him, his green eyes, short dark blonde hair and strongly built posture. The guy was hot. Lucas felt intrigued, but immediately these feelings mixed with fear and he tried to wiggle himself out of the guy's grip again. "Just let me go," he said.
The guy strengthened his grip and looked at Lucas with a stern face. "You're coming with me. As long as you do as I say, I won't hurt you." There was a sharpness to his voice that made Lucas's neck hair rise. The guy started walking and pulled Lucas along with him, not listening to his protests.
They took a left turn, into a narrow dirt path. The bushes were more dense here, and as the sun was setting it got darker with each step they walked. Lucas was sure no one could see them at this point. A grey square unit appeared from behind the bushes. It was the gardener's shed, a small concrete storage unit that Lucas had seen before when he had explored the park.
The guy pulled Lucas along while they walked up to the shed. Lucas heard the jingle of keys in the guy's pocket, and with a swift movement he unlocked the door and swung it open. "Inside," the guy said and pushed Lucas forward into the shed, and he closed the door behind them. With a loud 'click' the door locked, and suddenly it was quiet. Only the sound of their breathing filled the room.
They were surrounded by an immediate darkness. It was cool inside the shed, and Lucas's eyes strained to adjust as a dim light seeping through a crack in the window shutter barely illuminated the space. Shadows played tricks on him, revealing some vague outlines of the gardening tools hanging on hooks. The air was thick with the musty scent of aged wood and wet leaves, and Lucas moved cautiously forward.
"To the corner," the guy commanded, while taking both Lucas's wrists in one hand and grabbing his neck with the other hand, pushing him forward.
Lucas's heart pounded in his chest and he felt scared. 'I need to find a way to get out of here', he thought. However, the guy had a strong hold onto him, and with the door locked Lucas realised there wasn't much room to escape.
Within a few steps they had reached the corner of the room and the man pushed Lucas' hands against the wall. Again he heard the jingle of a key, or something that sounded like keys. With a quick motion the guy pinned Lucas against the wall, and something that felt like handcuffs encircled his wrists. "No, wait," Lucas stuttered. "Help!", he yelled. He tried to pry himself free again but it was in vain.
"You don't even have to try," the man whispered into his ear with a soft voice, which sent a shiver through his body. "No one can hear you here. I can do anything with you and you will enjoy every second of it."
