The year is 2032. The financial state of the country is in ruins, racial differences are at an all-time high, crime has risen 300% since the stock market crash of 2029, and overall morale is at an all-time low. None of the programs that the government has put into place to this point has made any difference. It's time for some drastic changes. And the government has pulled out all the stops....
Introducing Project Serenity
In a world filled with frustration, stress, and record lows in morale, the government put together a program to help eliminate some of those worries. By implementing Project Serenity, its goal is to allow users to take part in the program as opposed to taking part in acts of violence, committing major crimes, etc. By participating in the program, it gave users the chance to focus on what we as humans truly need to relieve ourselves of the burdens of everyday life.
On the day of one's eighteenth birthday, the new Project Serenity application will be installed on a citizen's cell phone. They will have 48 hours to log into the application and fill out their entire profile. This profile will comprise general information like Name, Height, Weight, Eye Color, Body Type, etc. But that's just the very beginning of a user's profile. Once that portion is completed, a more detailed questionnaire will need to be filled out by the user as well, and this questionnaire is much more invasive, asking questions relating to Home Address, Work Address, Work schedule, Free time, Family Members, Total of Past Boyfriends / Girlfriends, number of sexual partners in the past, Straight/Bi/Gay, etc.
Now, some may find the application offputting at first, unsure of what its main purpose is. But that usually becomes fairly clear once they reach their dashboard. Project Serenity is known as a very 'social' type of application, one that is based on connecting two individuals for a brief amount of time. The government would have you believe it was an application used to make friends, connect with strangers, and find people you are truly happy to hang out with. However, because of the state of the country, it rapidly became known as the 'Pimp' app.
The way the application works is by allowing a user to search for others in several ways, including age, gender, education level, sexual orientation, and location. Serenity will then find the best matches based on your preferences. Once a user has found another user, they wish to contact / hang out with, they will click the "Request" button, allowing the requester the chance to input details about where they would like to hang out, what they would like to do, etc. This was harmless and fun, however, it was determined that in order to get people to take part, it was deemed mandatory to take part with your requester. The only way to avoid having to hang out with your requester is to submit a $500 wave fee. This would allow the requestee to skip hanging out with that individual and would put their profile on a 72 hour pause where the user would not have to take part in requests.
Originally, many thought that the project was stupid and wouldn't hold up because of the heavy demand, but those smarter than its original developers soon exploited it. Because of its steep cost to wave requests, along with its ranking system after each session, a majority of the users manipulated the system, using it to 'get some' whenever they wanted. The requestee basically had four options: They could submit the wave fee, they could ignore the request and be fined, they could attend the session and not take part, resulting in their rating to go down, also resulting in disciplinary action, or they could cave, taking part in what the requester wanted, usually revolving around humbling sexual experiences.
The government had a system in place set for complaints and issues revolving around the project, allowing users to submit emails expressing their concerns. However, they failed to assign anyone to that task force... so they currently go unnoticed.

On the North side of Athens, Georgia lived a small family. Mom and Dad, Brooke and Carl, along with their twin daughters, Breanne and Jenny. Breanne and Jenny were not identical twins at birth, so you could definitely tell them apart. Breanne stood at 5 ft 3 inches tall, weighing in at around 115 pounds. Jenny was taller at 5 ft 6 inches, weighing in at about 140 pounds. Both girls were pretty, petite, with pale skin. Breanne's hair was a dark brown, while Jenny's was a little lighter, showing more of a dirty blonde color.
The date is August 3rd. A day that both of the girls had been fairly excited about. They had been thinking about what it would be like to turn eighteen, what it would be like to finally become an adult. That was until Project Serenity was released. Both of the girls were fairly nervous as they had heard horror stories about some things their friends and their friends' older siblings had gone through and experienced. On the eve of the twin's eighteenth birthday, their parents sat them both down and discussed things with them, including the Serenity app and what sort of rules they were expected to follow. Their family was fairly poor, so the only possible way they could afford a wave fee was if it came straight from the girls' accounts. They would have to keep money stashed on the application if they needed to get out of a jam. That was going to be difficult for the girls to do. They both had jobs, but they were both very involved at school, they were both on the tennis team, and they barely could make enough money for gas, let alone a $500 wave fee... that was a steep fee to pay.
On the morning of the 3rd, both of the girls woke up and filled out the application together for moral support. The initial information was pretty simple, filling in their names, contact information, physical appearance, etc. However, for the more invasive part of the application, it was a lot more difficult to fill out.
Neither of them had had many significant others in the past. Breanne had two boyfriends before, of which she had only slept with him twice, while Jenny had one boyfriend in the past, but she had barely had a hand up her shirt, let alone slept with anyone. It wasn't because she wasn't pretty by any means, but there was one other major factor that separated Breanne from Jenny physically. Jenny was born part male. At first glance, you would one thousand percent think she is all female: Pale, slim figure, petite frame, even a pair of breasts. But once you investigated 'below the border', she wielded a shaft and a pair of balls like a man. And this made her incredibly insecure. Only a handful of people knew, and the fear of everyone finding out because of Serenity was a very real fear. Breanne did her best to keep her spirits up, but she ran into issues of her own as soon as she submitted the final portion of her profile.
*Buzz Buzz*
A notification popped up on Breanne's phone.
"Congratulations on your first request!" The tagline said in a cheerful manner, but Breanne felt anything but cheerful. She swiped up to get more information about her requester.
Her requester was a man she had never met before.
"Taylor Daniels - Caucasian - Age 29" Breanne read. Seeing the age gap of eleven years made her uneasy at first. But just like she did with Jenny, Jenny tried to be a bit more optimistic about Breanne.
"Maybe he's a nice guy. He could just want to hang out at the mall or something..." Jenny said, trying to pass it off like it's no big deal.
Breanne shrugged a bit as she continued down to the details of the request.
