First of all let me apologize for taking so long to update the story. I have used some of my own experiences with sleep paralysis, (which is real) in the story. I have been extremely busy with school, studying for the MCAT, and dealing with a breakup but I am back ο. I am also working on getting the other stores up to date so be patient. Enjoy!
Charlie laid on her bed, rehearsing in her mind what to say to Asura when she called him.
'I don't like this plan of yours," primal interjected her thoughts, ruining her concentration.
'Well, I don't want to just give it up that easily, ok. I want more out of this deal than just clarity and you bugging me," Charlie huffed.
'I don't understand what is so hard. Just fuck him tonight and then we will work together and get Drew,' Primal irritated replied.
'You know, for a wild and untamed thing you don't have much cunning as I thought you would," Charlie thought idly.
Primal stirred uncomfortably in the back of her mind, making her wince and the headache she began to feel. Primal then barked back, 'Don't challenge me if you don't want me to fully take control of the situation,'
'Oh but I am challenging you,' Charlie replied sitting up in bed. 'I want you to work with me to tip the scales even more in our favor. We are dealing with an ancient demon that has a wealth of knowledge to bestow upon us and we are only trying for so little,'
'Always the knowledge seeker, you can't pass up an opportunity for more,' Primal replied snidely.
'No, this is different. We make a deal, we bargain, but on our terms,'
'And what exactly are those terms, hmm...?'
'You'll see, but I need you to be on my side. I am in control of my body and you will be my partner, but you will not control me,'
Primal was silent and she/it pondered what she said. Before Primal could reply, Charlie closed her eyes and began to clear her mind, until she fell asleep. Years of experiencing sleep paralysis allowed her to easily slip into sleep and even initiate sleep paralysis, yet she never had a desire to do until now.
A slow vibrational humming began in her ears, marking the beginning of her sleep paralysis. Her eyes cracked open she looked around the dark room and tried to move, yet couldn't. Shoving back down the panic in her throat she slowly began to call out to Asura in her mind, picturing him standing above her. Invisible hands wrapped around her throat as she felt a weight being pressed on her chest, and when it became unbearable, she sat up, broken free of her invisible chains.
Asura sat in the corner of her room, his profile in shadows, giving his glinting eyes and eerie glow. Charlie suppressed the chill that went down her spine and opened her mouth, yet the words died on her tongue.
"So, the young one has decided," he said, his lips barely moving as he stood and walked over to the bed.
