Chapter 4
âI thought he would be here by now.â Tariq said looking at the neon blue clock that hung above the stage. He looked up to see Leila and Harnati in a dark corner on the opposite side of the club. Harnati was biting at Leilaâs neck in a lustful passionâŚLeila always did like it ruff. He could see pleasure written all over Leilaâs face as Harnati sunk her needle like teeth deep into her throat; pulled at her hair franticly.â I always thought something was up with the two of you.â He thought as he raised his right eyebrow at them.
Leila looked up at him, and pushed Harnati away harshly. Then she walked over to Tariq, âYou know she is just a play thing to meâŚâ She said coldly as she flashed him a seductive smile and glanced back over to the corner.
âYou know itâs not nice to play with someoneâs emotionsâŚâ Ezekiel said as he looked towards Harnati setting alone in the dark corner. She looked so pitiful, and heart broken.
âShe has no feelings.â Leila hissed evilly. âHer name means snow queen; or have you forgotten how cold she can be?â
âThatâs enough Leila!â Tariq said as he glared at her with hate. She could tell he was truly angry with her with the way his eyes glowed a faint yellow green.
When Kadin and Hala walked in the rest of the band was still setting around talking to Ezekiel. Hala met eyes with Harnati and LeilaâŚthey both gave her a very hungry lookâŚalmost as if they lusted for her. âNot her.â Ezekiel whispered softly enough that Hala would not hear, but he knew that the others would.
âEzekielâŚâ Leila said in a sulky voice. âYouâre not trying to spear her are you?â as she gave him very sad eyes, âI thought you said we could take whom ever we wanted.â
âNothing like thatâŚthe club is opening.â He replied as he tried to hide he true feelings.
Then Leila and Harnati heard a voice in the back of their minds. âShe is mineâŚsoon I will make a Fallen AngelâŚMy angel.â Kadin said possessively.
That is when Tariq looked at HalaâŚand for a secant saw something about her. Then he met eyes with Kadin⌠âWhy her?â
âMan, she wanted me to take her before I came here. She is willingâŚkinda takes the fun out of it for me, ya know. But I am sure to enjoy her to the very last drop.â He replied with an evil smirk
âThatâs something that has always disturbed me about you KadinâŚrape!â He said in disgust, âBesides Hala wants sex, not death!â he paused, âOr worse.â Then he glanced at her again. âShe is looking for someone.â
âWhat?â Kadin asked as he tried to see it too, but he had to admit Tariq was far stronger than he was.
âI really canât see a whole lotâŚa sister I think, itâs another female.â As his head started to hurt, âI can see Moon Light Path Childrenâs Home tooâŚI am not sure what that has to do with it though.â That is when Tariq put his hand to his head and feel to his knees.
Kadin rushed over to him, âWhat happened man?â He asked as he looked over at Hala with a perplexing look on his face.
Leila looked up at Hala⌠âWhat the fuck did you do?â She asked in an evil voice that nearly sounded like a low growl.
âShe didnât do anything, Leila. She was standing all the way over there with Kadin.â Ezekiel said as he stepped in front of Hala acting as a shield. âLook just get him into the back and get ready to go on. I will hold the crowd off until you come on.â He sighed, âThis had to happen on your last night!â As Leila walked by, she hissed at Hala as she gave her a wicked smile, purposely showing her fangs.
Kadin looked up at Hala and slightly hesitated to ask, âAre you still coming home with me tonight?â
She simply smiled and walked over to the bar. Hala sat by Ezekiel and he asked, âSex on the beach tonight?â as he asked he started to blush.
âZeak, I thought you said there was too much sand.â She joked with a flirtations smile. âYes.â Then she looked towards the hall way that lead to the back, âWhy did that girl think I caused Tariq to pass out?â
âLeila is like thatâŚshe believes in all sorts of things. This is Tempest City, most people here do.â He replied not wanting to lie to her, but not wanting to put his friends in danger. âI guess you could say this is the New Orleans of Missouri.â
âWhat kind of things?â She asked with deep intrigue. âVampires?â She whispered as her eyes lit up.
