"What year is it and who are you?"
The words were of little consequence to Alexander, it was the voice that captivated him. Though she spoke with a heavy accent, thanks to the knowledge contained within even just a drop or two of his blood was enough to have her speaking perfect English. Her voice had a lilting quality to it, a soft tone that promised undeniable pleasures were it to be whispered into his ear. Yet there was also the promise of extreme and bloody violence were she to be angered, if their first meeting was anything to go by at least.
He twitched, returning to the present as she continued to stare at him, awaiting an answer she had not yet received. Clearing his throat, he collected his thoughts and shifted in place.
"It's uh... 2024 and my name is Alexander Harris. What's your name?" He asked, watching as her eyes widened, sitting back down on the decrepit bed in shock. It was hard to think that a vampire could be shocked by anything, but perhaps that was merely because he'd seen so many Hollywood depictions of vampires that were cool and collected all the time and nothing ever surprised them. It was easy to forget that they were human once and still operated by human rules in some ways.
"2024...that's...has it really been that long?" She muttered to herself, shaking her head and setting blood red locks-a-swishing. Her gaze hardened quickly however and refocused on him. "And what is your purpose in my lands, Alexander Harris? From where do you hail?"
He shifted once more, raising his hands and shrugging before letting the drop onto his lap.
"Honestly, I'm here on vacation. Never been to Romania before so I figured I might as well take the plunge and see what there is. As for where I hail from, I come from America." He felt being honest with her was probably the best idea, though as she digested the information she just looked more confused.
"America... I do not know this place. Who controls it?" She asked.
"Well... Americans do. Though I suppose at the start it was Britain that controlled it, as it was originally a bunch of their colonies that rebelled and...and this is a longer story than I think I can really do justice, so I'll tell you more later. All you need to know is that it's very far away on its own continent. Needless to say, the world is very different and I'd be happy to help you figure everything out...if you want my help that is."
She frowned slightly, still quite confused but willing to humor him for now.
"And why did you wake me? Surely you know our kinds do not typically mix?" She asked, and he sighed.
"Well that was entirely an accident. Maybe next time you build some sorta hidden resting chamber, don't make the wake up button part of the floor?" At this she straightened, then nodded in a manner that suggested she saw his logic. "And what's this about our kind not mixing? Like we tend to fight each other or something?"
"Duly noted... And yes, that is precisely it. Nobody really knows why we do, but we tend to come to hostilities when in close proximity. I know of a few covens and packs that attempted to mingle cordially, but that did not last long and ended rather messily." She stood, pacing around the room and crossing her arms under her ample bust.
"Ah... well then we're probably going to have a problem?" He rubbed the back of his neck, a hint of blush appearing in his cheeks as she looked at him. "See... I'm kinda getting this irresistible urge to be near you. Believe me I've never felt something like this before but I think I have an inkling of-"
"You mean to say that I am your legΔturΔ sufleteascΔ? Ech, your soul bond?" She was immediately in his face and for spending however many centuries stuck in a fancy box, she smelled really good to Alexander, his blush only deepening at the proximity.
"I dunno what that is..." He murmured, turning his head away and trying to put a little distance between them, only to find his back pressed against the wall and her breasts starting to smoosh against his chest.
