"My Father would be so very disappointed in me right now. He never gave Alpha Raven even one single reason for her to ever doubt him, and yet here I am giving Alpha Torie every reason to doubt me and she is right." Jaxon said slowly.

"You're right and you should feel ashamed. But self pitying is not good." Candice said quietly in answer.

"Alpha Torie is right, Male Wolves tend to be not quite the thinkers when thinking in terms of the long road. They think in the moment and react just the same. Now I have never met any male cats so I can't say if they are like that or not. All I know of cats is Alpha Torie and the stories I heard about Alpha Raven, both are forward thinkers, they think about action, but more importantly about the consequences of those actions." she explained and Jaxon looked at her.

"Think of it in terms as this.. if you find out that a group of people are stealing from your store, do you A: Take down the one you caught or B: Follow the one to the rest?" she asked as she tilted her head a bit. Jaxon smiled and nodded, it was thinking Big Picture and not just in one small scene.

"The real question Jax, what does your heart tell you that you should do. Stay here or go back to Alpha Carter. For me, I am a wolf and I am happy either way as long as I am with you." she reminded him. Sometimes it was hard to remember that Candice was a wolf and not a cat like Alpha Torie and Clare as the three seemed to think so much alike on so many things.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torie stepped onto the path leading to the pack house, and gently held Clare to her side as they walked. The air was clear and the stars easily lit up the night sky with no lights to diffuse them as they did in most towns and Cities.

"What do you think he will do?" Clare asked her and Torie just smiled at her.

"He'll do what he feels is right for him." Torie answered.

"That's not what I meant." Clare said and rolled her eyes.

"Oh I know what you meant, but you see I can't read the future and I don't do or say anything based on guess work." Torie replied and winked playfully. Both stopped and listened as they heard raised voices coming from the detention area.

"Luna will this day ever end?" Torie asked in an exasperated sigh. Clare tried not to giggle but wasn't entirely successful. They walked up to find a handful of Alpha's and their Beta's huffing and puffing at her Warriors, more then a dozen Warriors stationed to keep the prisoners safe.

"We just want the Commander, do not force us to show you the error of your ways, Son." one of the larger Alpha's was saying. Normally in a full battle the Warriors would have lost easily as even Beta's were normally stronger then the standard Warrior. Torie cleared her throat with a low rumble.

She saw her Warrior's smile in both pleasure at seeing their Alpha and Luna out for a walk, and also knowing that their hides would not be getting a beat down this evening. At seeing the Warrior's smile and hearing the low rumble the Alpha's froze.

"She's behind us, isn't she?" one of the smaller ones asked and the Warrior's all nodded in the affirmative.

"Damn.." another Alpha muttered under his breath. Torie noted another figure was standing under a tree and the scent told her exactly who it was as he stepped onto the path.

"You could say that.." the First Chair Council Member stated as he neared them. "Gentlemen I believe it is getting late and I am sure your mates must be getting worried by now. Unless you'd of course like to explain this to the Alpha behind you?" Torie had never seen a mass exodus before, usually you get one or two moving and the others hesitate, not this time, They all move in an instant. The Old Alpha just chuckled as he also watched the group move off.

"Thank you men, continue your duties, but next time, let me or your Luna know there is trouble. No need to get your hides stripped if you don't have to, besides your mates would never let me hear the end of it." Torie called to the Warriors who just chuckled and waved as they past by.

"Lovely night out First Chair Council Member." Torie said in greeting.

"Marcus, the name is Marcus Sun." he corrected and she looked at him a moment and grinned.

"One of the top best Assassins in the World, word was you died, some sort of assignment gone wrong." Torie said slowly. Marcus shook his head and laughed softly.

"I am surprised you didn't figure out the set up." He said with a grin. Torie thought about it a bit longer while he waited to see if she would see it.

"Geezus, you knew there was a mole all along, and made sure they passed on the information." she said and he nodded.

"I wanted out of the game, but I knew no one would just let it go if I tried to walk away. Too many knew who I was and had finger prints, photo's and by then even DNA on me. Someone would always be looking to either cash in on the Bounties they had on me or just to make a name for themselves by killing me. So I had to die." he explained as they walked.

"Found a body about my height and weight, same features too, then pumped about five liters of blood into his bones. When the job went down the whole place blew in a fiery explosion. All they had left to ID was the DNA and I was listed as Officially dead to the Human World. Once that is done your file is eradicated. About six years later I landed on the Alpha Council and been there ever sense." he told them while Torie nodded while listening.

"Well I am glad they didn't get you, your Pride and your leadership abilities have helped to keep the cat community going for many years when they were all but extinct." Torie said and he smiled at her.

"I have to admit, I did follow the exploits of Shiva from beginning to end and with a little more then professional admiration, hell I thought you were a man, you would not believe the many fantasies I had about Shiva, damn near embarrassing now." Marcus admitted while Torie burst out laughing.

"Say whatever did happen to all the money you got from those jobs anyways?" he asked curiously.

"Most got changed from bills to gold, lets face it Gold and Silver tend to hold their value much better then the dollar bill. The Jewelry and Art, stored in a safe house that is off any books. Along with every dirty secret that the Black Ops Director does not want publicly disclosed." Torie answered.

"You actually stole from those people?" Clare asked with wide eyes.

"Damn right I did, besides they didn't have any use for it anymore." Torie answered which had Marcus laughing now.

"She does have a point." he told Clare who could only shrug.

"What did you end up with?" he asked.

"A bit over 20 and you?" she asked in reply.

"A bit over 70, but then I was in the game much longer then you were." he answered and she nodded.

"Twenty, Seventy, I would have thought after eight years you would have come up with more then what twenty dollars." Clare said flatly.

"She means twenty million hun." Marcus clarified and Clare gasped.

"And you got seventy million?" she asked in a breathless gasp and he nodded.

"We were at the top of our games, she just hid it better then I did, but times were different and I was young and stupid." Marcus said and sighed softly.

"Well Ladies, it was nice talking with you, but this old man needs to get some sleep. Tomorrow is already promising to be another eventful day." Marcus said as he started down a side path leading to the House assigned to the Council Members.

"You may come out now." Torie said and Clare was instantly alert. A figure stepped from the shadows.

"You are better then your reputation, Shiva." a voice whispered softly through the air. The shadows continued to obscure the form but the voice was female.

"What can I do for you?" Torie asked quietly.

"Your pack is in danger, be very careful of who you trust." she replied softly.

"We can handle ourselves." Clare replied quickly while scanning for other intruders.

"Perhaps, but I wonder if you realize just how easy it is to hurt you?" she asked softly. "Just because no one can hurt you physically, does not mean you can't be hurt in other ways, remember that.."

Clare started to move forward and Torie caught her arm and shook her head even as the shadowy figure faded into the darkness.

"We should stop her." Clare said.

"No, someone like her would have left traps to help her escape and we do not need wolves and an irrational cat to be blundering after this one." Torie said softly.

"To the Warriors, do not travel the West path near the Alpha Councils Home, tape it off until morning when we can spot any traps more easily." Torie sent on the open link. Several confirmed her sending and she could already hear thick paw pads moving quickly in their direction.

"This is why we do not chase now.." Torie muttered to Clare as a very muscled panther ran up to them with a Red and White wolf trailing behind him by about a second or two. Instantly the Warriors began to show up as well and soon the Council Members.

"Can't I ever get a break?" Torie muttered and Clare just shook her head and grinned playfully at her.

"Alpha Torie what has happened?" one of the members asked in concern.

"The pack lands were infiltrated by an unknown. All we know for certain is that she is female and a Werecat. She just disappeared in a Westerly direction, I want no one chasing her!" Torie nearly had to shout to halt the Panther from moving to follow.

"What, why?" a Warrior asked.

"Because, if she is good enough to slip into these lands, she just might be smart enough to leave traps behind to hinder anyone from following her." Alpha Marcus explained.

"The First Chair Council Member is correct..." Torie stated while the Warriors taped off the path way to keep others from using it. She waved Marcus to her and when he was close enough, she lowered her voice.

"She also knows who we are, she was here listening to us." Torie whispered and he looked at her a moment before nodding.

"You didn't sense her during our talk?" he asked and she shook her head.

"Damn, she is good. We need to up our game if we are going to beat her." Marcus said slowly.

"But why, I mean she can't hurt either of us." Clare said in a soft tone.

"She doesn't have to hurt us in order to injure us. All it takes is killing someone you are close to, taking what is valuable to you personally in order to throw you off or simply make you wish you were dead." Torie reminded her and Clare nodded as she sighed softly. Clare was still not use to pack life or being mated to someone, it was a very different life she had now compared to just being a loner.

A group of four Warriors would remain by the tape to keep anyone from using the pathway and would not follow anyone who came in from that direction in case it was a trap. The Alpha Council Members got a new housing Unit as well to insure their safety. The trials would have to be sped up as no one could be considered safe anymore at this point, Torie thought to herself while she and her mate walked into their room.

Torie and Clare sat at the top of the raised platform, as the aggrieved pack Alpha couple they held the final word when it came to the sentencing should the defendants be found guilty. Seated to their sides was First Beta Chris and First Beta Candice, Jaxon was forced to be seated with the Warriors. Below them the Alpha's had drawn lots as to who the five Judges would be to listen the the Lawyers who would prosecute and defend this action and the defendants.

"Again your Honors, we object to these proceedings in their entirety and ask that the case be moved to the State Capital or even the nearest Federal Court House where it should be heard." one of the many lawyers called out once again. A large thud was heard as a gavel was dropped down before the prosecution could weigh in.

"We have heard your arguments and find no merit in your arguments. The case will proceed as ordered, continue to push for a change in venue and you will all be in contempt of Court and dealt with accordingly. Is this Court clear enough for you now?" Alpha Carter had been appointed as the lead Judge listening, again by a pick of the draw. You could tell everyone was getting tired of hearing this argument as it was now the eleventh time that particular argument was made in the last hour.

"Now then I believe we are still awaiting to hear your pleas?" he added once the defense table was finally quieted down.

"Not Guilty.." the first Lawyer called out for Commander Swift, who was currently wearing a gag sense he could not seem to shut up. The rest of the men and women stood one by one to announce their own verdicts of Not Guilty as well. After seeing Swift gagged, they had the common sense to shut up.

"Beta Craig are you prepared to begin your case?" Alpha Carter asked. The Beta stood and nodded before pointing towards the projector screen.

"We would like to introduce into evidence these documents and a recording of the incident involving the scene known by the World over as the Bus Massacre." Beta Craig called out.

"Proceed.." Alpha Carter replied even as he and the Judges looked down at the hard copy of the documents about to be shown. The first image showed the Unit members smiling and congratulating each other while standing over a burned corpse. The Caption read each of their names clearly and a round of howls and growls ensued only to be cut short by a low rumble. Torie would not have anyone harmed before their proper time or risk the case be dismissed under any circumstances.

"As you can see your Honors, the photo is of the entire Unit partying after the assault on our Children and Elderly. It was later confirmed to be the body of retired Alpha Storm Greywolf who lays before their feet." Beta Craig said through gritted teeth. Everyone felt the air change and could see Torie's eyes glowing brightly, the only problem was they were bleeding to red.

Clare instantly held her hand and began whispering to her, while Torie worked to calm her cat who was seething within her. The Prosecution worked hard to continue, it wasn't easy for him with his Alpha being so distressed but he had to continue.

"Our second piece of evidence.." Beta Craig stated and at the Judges nod, he waved at one of the pack members who started a video.

"This was taken from YouTube, it is a compilation of several video's pieced together from different cell phones to gather a complete picture of the events as they unfolded. The Supreme Court deemed it as a complete and accurate telling of the events and thus why they agreed to list the accused as War Criminals based on these events." Beta Craig stated. Everyone stared in horror as the event unfolded before their eyes. And everyone noted the the change within the room becoming oppressive as Torie's eyes glowed blood red.

"We shall take a small recess, return in ten minutes." Alpha Carter said through clenched teeth and slammed the gavel down. Several ran from the room so they could breath once again, the only ones who couldn't were the defendants who were chained to their chairs. Clare had picked up Torie and rushed her from the room with several right behind her.

The Warriors stood in a large circle around the Alpha Couple, they could not help but feel pride in their Alpha for not just walking down and killing everyone of those people for their actions that night. Marcus walked up and looked at Clare who could just shrug while Torie worked to keep her cat in control.

After several minutes they returned and retook their seats, no one had said a word the entire time they'd taken a break.

"Prosecution, anything more to add?" Alpha Carter asked.

"We have stated our case and ask to be allowed to cross examine any witnesses the defense may see to bring before the Court." Beta Craig stated.

"Objection your Honors, where is the Prosecutors witness?" one of the Lawyers called out.

"There is no Witness list by the Prosecution, why did you find a list we are not privy too?" Alpha Carter asked in reply.

"Alpha Torie, she should have been called." the Lawyer shot back and at a low growl from Alpha Carter the Lawyer backed off a bit.

"Be very mindful of where you are Councilor, this is not a Human Court, our Laws do not allow for disrespect of those of us in these chairs, remember that." Alpha Carter growled at him and the Lawyer gulped audibly.

"My apologies your Honor." the Lawyer said quickly.

"He brings up a point, why have you not brought forth the only survivor of that event?" Alpha Carter asked even though he already knew the answer.

"Your Honors, at the time of this heinous act, Alpha Torie was but four years old and in all truth, she has no memory of the specific people involved, only vague images of men and women in uniform." Beta Craig stated before taking his seat.

"As Alpha Torie was too young to remember and did not see anyone to identify, she is not considered a true witness and is thus excused from testifying." Alpha Carter stated.

"But your Honor!" another Lawyer said standing up. Alpha Carter and the other Alpha Judges growled loudly as they stood and leaned over their table.

"You think us animals, you think to rattle this woman into attacking you and making your case for you and in order to justify your actions that day. We will never allow you to play your word games on our people. Now sit down or by all that you hold Holy, we will move to sentencing and your case forfeit. Are we clear in this matter?" Alpha Johnson roared at them. The defense table sat down and began talking to each other.

Torie sat still as a statue, staring straight ahead through it all. Clare gently rubbing her hand in slow circles while her cat paced within her mind. Anyone looking at her would think her near catatonic unless they knew who she is or what she was capable of. Commander Swift watched her and knew his end was coming and none of them would find a clean end.

Torie stood slowly and everyone's attention turned towards the power house that moved down the few steps to stand in the center of the floor.

"Yes Alpha Torie, have something to add?" Alpha Carter asked.

"If it please the Court, I would have words with the one called Commander Swift, this is of a private and personal matter, but to ensure that nothing is taken out of context. His Lawyer, Alpha Carter, my mate Clare and First Chair Alpha Council may remain to bare witness to what is said." Torie explained. The Judges all spoke in hushed whispers before speaking.

"We will allow this, clear the room of all those but for the aforementioned names." Alpha Carter stated and soon they all were gone. Torie stepped to Commander Swift while the rest gathered around.

"Commander I know you think you may have the upper hand here, and in some aspects you do. We have no way to stop or to control what it is you say here. But you need to understand something. Last night we had an intruder, they were good enough that I didn't even spot them until much later." Torie explained and Swift's eyes widened, whether it was in shock or recognition, Torie had no idea.

"Now they didn't come after me or for me so I could only assume they wanted something else. Normally in our line of work it can only be one thing, information. Someone wanted or needed to know what was happening here and right away." Torie explained and set a small device on the table.

"Recognize that, it's one of many we found. A simple little listening device. And we left them alone in the room here, so they are quite active which means that whoever needed to know what was said here is listening even now." Torie explained and could see the man sweating before her.

"While whoever they are can not silence you, I am sure you know they can hurt you even from where they are. I believe you have an ex-wife and two sons still out in the world. I suggest you keep their secrets, unless of course you don't care about ex-families." Torie explained as she stepped back.
